Abstract

Karotenoid adalah golongan pigmen dengan struktur isoprenoid yang memiliki berbagai manfaat bagi kesehatan. Buah merah (Pandanus conoideus) merupakan sumber karotenoid yang potensial karena memiliki kadar karotenoid yang tinggi. Buah merah menyebar luas di daerah Papua dan Papua Nugini dan banyak digunakan sebagai makanan dan bahan masakan. Beberapa jenis karotenoid telah berhasil diidentifikasi namun dalam jumlah yang relatif sedikit, antara lain α-karoten, β-karoten, α-kriptoxanthin, dan β-kriptoxanthin. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi karotenoid yang ada pada minyak buah merah selain α-karoten, β-karoten, α-kriptoxanthin, dan β-kriptoxantin. Dari penelitian ini, enam jenis karotenoid berhasil teridentifikasi dari ekstrak total karotenoid seperti (3S, 5R, 6R)-3,5-dihidroksi-6,7-didehidro-5,6-dihidro-12'-apo-β-karoten-12'-al, 10'-apo-beta-karotenal, (3S, 3'S, 5R, 5'R, 8'R, 9'cis)-3'-metil-6,7-didehidro-5,5',6,8'–tetrahidro–5',8'-epoksi-β,β-karotene-3,5-diol, phytoene, 3-hidroksi–3'-okso-β,ε-karoten, dan violaxanthin. Selain itu, terdapat dua fraksi terpilih dari hasil fraksinasi dengan Flash Column Chromatography untuk diidentifikasi lebih lanjut. Dari fraksi tersebut teridentifikasi lima jenis karotenoid pada fraksi kedua, termasuk dua di antaranya yaitu capsantin dan kriptoxantin yang belum teridentifikasi sebelumnya pada ekstrak total karotenoid. Diprediksi terdapat α-karoten dan β-karoten pada fraksi pertama apabila dilihat dari persamaan waktu retensinya dengan standar.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the effect of interaction between sucrose and citric acid concentration on the quality of co-crystallization of fermented cassava (manihot utillisima pohl). Extract. The benefit of this research is to diversify cassava fermented product in order to type of food product that is more pratical in its consumption. s a result this product will create an increasing economic value of cassava. The experiment was carried out using the randomized block desing withpattern factorial and 3 times replicating. The frist factor is sucrose concentration (40%; 50%; and 60%) and the second factor is citric acid concentration (1% ; 1.5%; and 2%). Parameter analyzed during the experiment were moinsture content, total sugar, solubility, and organoleptic test using prefence test type with 15 panelist which cover color, taste, flavor, and apperance. Basedc on the result of organoleptic test of microcrystal fermented cassava extract that perferred by panelist were it was produced with 40% of surcose and 1.5% of citric acid concentraction.  This fermented cassava extract produced by this methods contain moinsture content 2.14% and total sugar 56.05%, and has solubility 26.84%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi protein alergen belut segar (BS) dan belut rebus (BR) dengan buffer Tris Glisin (TG), Tris Glisin DTT (TGD) dan Phosphat buffer saline (PBS) serta mengkarakterisasi alergenisitas isolat protein dengan uji elektroforesis SDS-PAGE, ELISA dan immunoblotting. Rendemen protein yang dihasilkan pada BSTG, BSTGD dan BSPBS sebesar 2166 mg/L, 2083 mg/L dan 2284 mg/L. Rendemen ekstrak protein BRTG, BRTGD, BRPBS adalah 1445 mg/L, 1805 mg/L dan 1207 mg/L. Hasil SDS-Page menunjukkan profil protein BSTG memiliki 16 pita protein dengan bobot molekul dari 22 kDa-233 kDa dan BSTGD sebanyak 6 pita dengan bobot molekul 22 kDa-112 kDa, BSPBS sebanyak 16 pita dengan bobot molekul 22 kDa-93 kDa, BRTG memiliki 7 pita dengan berat molekul 24 kDa-267 kDa, BRTGD terdeteksi sebanyak 10 pita dengan berat molekul 24 kDa-235 kDa, BRPBS memiliki 10 pita protein dengan berat molekul 24 kDa-297 kDa. Hasil immunobloting dari 10 subjek yang positif alergi menunjukkan ada 3 subjek yang memberikan reaksi positif yaitu subjek 2 pada BSPBS, subjek 4 pada BSTG, BSTGD dan BSPBS serta subjek 8 pada BSTGD, BSPBS, BRTG dan BRTGD. Buffer PBS dapat meningkatkan rendemen ekstrak protein belut dan meningkatkan alergenitas reagen sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai buffer untuk pembuatan reagen uji tusuk kulit.

Abstract

Antioxidant could be defined by several means. Antioxidant is a substance that could postpone and delay oxidation of molecule substrate in human body ,i.e ; protein ,carboydtrate,lipid and DNA, by oxidant. antioxidant that works in the human body's biological system is called a  biological antioxidant Biological antioxidants can be grouped into :1) enzymatic antioxidants (endogenous) ,2) non-enzymatic antioxidants (endogenaous) and, 3) antioxidants from food (exogenous0.Enzymatic antioxidants (endogenous) include superoxide dismutase ,catalase ,glutathione peroxidase, glutaredoksin, tioredoksin, peroksiredoksin ,and coenzyme q10.non-enzymatic antioxidants (ENDOGENOUS) are carotenoids,vitamin E  and vitamin C those antioxidants are able to work in hydrophobic and hydrophilic cellular environment so as to from a strong network of cooperation in preventing the occurrence of oxidative damage .some of the functions of antioxidants in the human body that can be expressed are ; preventive defense the human body against oxidants ,strong defense system against free redicals ,prevent the occurrence atherosclerosis in blood vessels,regulation of metabolism such as disabling lipoksigenase.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh proses pengolahan belalang terhadap karakteristik protein alergen belalang. Proses pengolahan belalang yang dilakukan adalah penggorengan, perebusan, dan perendangan. Karakteristik protein alergen dilakukan dengan metode Bradford, Elektroforesis, dan immunoblotting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis belalang yang digunakan adalah Oxya chinensis. Hasil analisis proksimat belalang mentah, belalang rebus, belalang goreng dan belalang rendang adalah kadar air antara 7,62%-71,46%, kadar abu berkisar antara   0,78%-4,97%, kadar protein berkisar antara 17,00%-23,18%, kadar lemak berkisar antara 6,02%-55,44% dan kadar karbohidrat berkisar antara 0,66%-20,50%. Konsentrasi protein ekstrak belalang mentah, rebus, goreng dan rendang masing-masing adalah 7222,25 mg/L; 893,97 mg/L; 703,43 mg/L; 1123,08 mg/L. Profil protein diduga alergen pada ekstrak belalang mentah adalah antara 5 kDa – >250 kDa dengan 22 pita protein, pada belalang rebus antara 9 kDa – >250 kDa dengan 13 pita protein, pada belalang goreng antara 9 kDa – 250 >kDa dengan 8 pita protein, dan belalang rendang antara 9 kDa -250 kDa dengan 16 pita protein. Bobot molekul protein belalang mentah yang dapat berikatan dengan IgE spesifik responden adalah 70 kDa sedangkan dengan belalang rebus adalah 66 kDa, 86 kDa, 150 kDa, dan >250, dengan belalang goreng adalah 150 kDa dan >250 kDa, dan dengan belalang rendang adalah 24 kDa, 150 kDa dan >250 kDa. Proses pengolahan dengan cara direbus, digoreng dan direndang berpengaruh terhadap profil protein allergen belalang.

Abstract

Pandanus conoideus (buah merah or tawi) is exclusively grown in Papua island and its neighbor areas, and indigenous people have been consuming it as functional food for thousand years. We have reported safety and anti-tumor effects of Buah Merah extract oil (S.B.M) in experimental animals. However, mutagenicity or genotoxicity of S.B.M has not been evaluated. We carried out mutagenetic evaluation of S.B.M by in vitro Ames test using salmonella typhimurium  TA98, TA100, TA1535 and TA1537 and escherichia coli WR2uvrA with or withou the activation of S9 mixture. Concentrations used for this test were 313-500ug/plate. The results show that there is no increase in revertant colonies, suggesting that S.B.M has no mutagenic activities under the conditions of this study.

Abstract

Research on effectiveness effectiveness of using bamboo charcoal for cigarette smoke filter has been conducted .the aim of research was to investigate the characteristics of bamboo charcoal as a cigarette smoke filter .the results show the type of bambo charcoal andong and betung as well as particle size give no significance influence on benzene and chloroform adsorption ,while in contrarily give significance influence on significance influence on benzene  and chloroform adsorption,while in contrarily give significance influence on 0idium adsorption .usingthe cigarette filter added with bamboo charcoal andong and betung could increase 90% tar adsorption in cigarette smoke compare to tar adsorption by cigarette filter without bamboo charcoal added .while bamboo charoal filter andong and betung could increase nicotine adsorption in cigarette smoke only 45% and 19% respectively compare to tar adsorption by cigarette filter without bamboo charcoal added. The size of mesh of bamboo charcoal filter andong and betung give same level of influence on tar and nicotine adsorption.the lower the size of mesh the higher the effectiveness on tar and nicotine adsorption.

Abstract

Study on production of bamboo charcoal an vinegar have been carried out semi commercially using pyrolysis furnace with a volume of 6 m3. The result of this study is expected to be a model of processing bamboo charcoal and vinegar for rural area. Observations were made on the characteristics of pyrolysis, yield of charcoal and bamboo vinegar, and characteristics of charcoal i.e., water content, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calories, and pH. The bamboo raw material availability and techno-economical analysis were also conducted. The study revealed that the temperature of the out coming gar during the pyrolization process was 300 to 350 oC, the average yield of charcoal and vinegar were 27.33% and 33.61% respectively. The resulted bamboo charcoal has water content of 3.06%, volatile matter at 950oC was 40.03% (wb), ash content was 7.2% (wb), fixed carbon of 52.37% (wb) and calorific value of 5777 cal/g. The resulted bamboo vinegar has pH 4 and its refractive index was ranged from 3.25 - 3.75. The availability of raw material bamboo in the Village at Desa Tenjojaya, Kecamatan Cibadak Kabupaten Sukabumi, within the radius of 4 km was 3620 ton, while the possible selling price of the resulted charcoal was Rp. 3.000.-/kg whereas the vinegar was Rp.5000.-/kg. The techno-economical analysis of the processing unit of bamboo charcoal and vinegar with the capacity of 10 tons of charcoal per month revealed Present Value (NPV) of Rp.596.000.000,-, the Internal Rate pf Return (IRR) of 78% or Pay-back period was 1.3 years.

Abstract

Semi-synthesis of vanillin from eugenol can be divided into two step reactions namely, isomerization of eugenol into isoeugenol, and cleavage oxidation of isomerization product into expected reaction product (vanillin). In this work isomerization of eugenol or eugenyl acetate into isoeugenol or isoeugenyl acetate has been done via the following reactions: (1) Sigmatropic hydrogen (1,3) thermalic rearrangement reaction: direct heating of eugenol or eugenyl acetate at 220o C for 8 hours can produce 52.2% of isoeugenol or 65.7% of isoeugenyl acetate (both chemical yields are measured by means nmr-spectrometer), where products are viscose yellow-brownish liquid as mixture of unseparated starting material and isomerization product. (2) Prototropic (1,3) rearrangement catalyzed by phase transfer catalyst (PTC): (18)-crown ether-6 at room temperature can be afforded 71.4% of isoeugenol as light yellow liquid (mixture of unseparated starting material and isomerization product). Without any separation of mixture between isomerization product and starting material followed by subsequent cleavage oxidation using KMnO4 as oxidator in neutral condition catalyzed by phase transfer catalyst: (18)- crown ether-6 at room temperature for 3 hours can be yielded 16.5-22.9% of vanillin (from the starting material; eugenol or eugenyl acetate). The spectroscopical data of synthetical vanillin is not rather different with the spectroscopical data of authentical natural vanillin

Abstract

This study underscores the pivotal role of applied maritime education in driving the transformation of logistics through the Automatic Identification System (AIS) in Islamic countries. By integrating AIS technology, which enables real-time vessel tracking and monitoring, this research employs a multifaceted approach encompassing literature review, surveys, data analysis, and case studies to assess the current state of maritime education and AIS implementation. The findings emphasize the significance of specialized AIS curricula within maritime education programs and the importance of modern training facilities for fostering practical expertise in AIS technology and logistics management. Collaborative efforts among Islamic countries in curriculum development and facility investments are identified as essential to enhance maritime education's role in AIS transformation. This regional cooperation can facilitate knowledge sharing, best practices, and research, ultimately elevating maritime education standards and global competitiveness while nurturing a more skilled maritime workforce. In conclusion, regional cooperation and investment in modern training facilities are key to unlocking the potential of maritime education, promoting safer and more efficient maritime operations, and driving economic growth and security in Islamic countries.
