INCREASING COMMITMENT TO THE PROFESSION THROUGH PERSONALITY STRENGTHENING, AND TEACHER EMPOWERMENT, MEDIATED BY JOB SATISFACTIONIn general, this research aims to find strategies and ways to increase Commitment to the Profession in Permanent Teachers of Private Elementary School Foundations in Cipayung District, East Jakarta so that it can become input and recommendations for related parties, namely teachers, school principals, school administrators, and education authorities. Apart from that, we also found a new synthesis regarding commitment to the profession, personality, empowerment and job satisfaction. This research was conducted at the private elementary school level because private teachers have a commitment that is certainly different from civil servant teachers. This research uses quantitative research with a path analysis approach, which is a process of finding knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a tool to find information about what we want to know. The population in this study were private elementary school teachers with non-GTY status who taught in Cipayung District, East Jakarta. The population is 278 teachers from 10 private elementary schools in the Cipayung sub- district, East Jakarta. Of the 278 permanent foundation teachers at private elementary schools in Cipayung sub-district, East Jakarta, 165 non - GTY people will be sampled. This study found that Personality has a significant effect on teacher professional commitment with a path coefficient of 3.624 (p-value 0.01). Empowerment also contributes significantly with a path coefficient of 4.317 (p- value 0.01), and job satisfaction shows a significant effect with a path coefficient of 2.732 (p-value 0.01). The indirect effect of personality and empowerment on teacher professional commitment is mediated by job satisfaction, each with a coefficient of 0.2095 and 0.2769 indicating an important role of job satisfaction as a mediator. The results of the research show that personality has a direct and very  significant  positive  effect  on  commitment  to the profession through job  satisfaction  so  that strengthening  personality  through  job  satisfaction  can  indirectly  increase  commitment  to  the profession and empowerment has an indirect effect on commitment to the profession through job satisfaction, thereby strengthening empowerment. Through job satisfaction it can indirectly increase commitment to the profession.

Abstract

This research examines strategies for improving Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers by strengthening Servant Leadership, Organizational Culture, Interpersonal Communication, and Perceived Organizational Support (POS). The study, conducted in a private high school in Depok, Indonesia, utilizes a quantitative approach and path analysis to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of these variables on OCB. The results show that Servant Leadership, Organizational Culture, Interpersonal Communication, and POS all have direct positive and significant effects on OCB. Additionally, POS acts as an effective intervening variable, enhancing the impact of Servant Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Interpersonal Communication on OCB. The research findings suggest that fostering these factors can significantly improve OCB, which in turn enhances organizational effectiveness and the overall educational environment. The SITOREM analysis further identifies key indicators that need strengthening to optimize the strategies for increasing OCB in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to examine a model of teachers' organizational commitment by conducting surveys and field observations related to the factors influencing teachers' organizational commitment. In the qualitative phase, which involved interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with teachers and school principals, the researcher developed a research constellation model consisting of three independent variables: psychological empowerment, authentic leadership, and interpersonal communication. The intervening variable is pedagogical competence. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, with qualitative research used to explore the variables in the field and quantitative research used to test the constructed model. The sample consisted of 160 civil servant teachers teaching at 15 public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in region 2 of East Jakarta. The model was tested using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the R² value was 0.927, indicating that 92.7% of the variance in teachers' organizational commitment could be explained by the variables in the model. The dominant contributions came from psychological empowerment and pedagogical competence. The Q² value was 0.621, which is greater than 0.05, suggesting that the exogenous variables X1, X2, and X3 are appropriate and relevant predictors for the endogenous construct X4. The Goodness of Fit (GoF) analysis showed an SRMR value of less than 0.08 (under 0.1), indicating that the tested model fits the data well. Additionally, the PLS Predict analysis revealed that the Q²_predict values from the PLS model were higher (8) than those from the linear model (LM), which had only 2. Therefore, it can be concluded that the model has a strong predictive power.

Abstract

Background : Nutritional status and oral health are crucial aspects that influence the quality of life in adolescents. Body Mass Index (BMI) is often used as an indicator of nutritional status, while oral health status can be measured by the DMF index (Decayed, Missing, Filled). Objective : This study aimed to analyze the association between BMI and oral health among Balikpapan junior high school students. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 183 students from 7th and 9th grades in a junior high school. Statistical analysis utilized the Pearson correlation test to assess the association between BMI and DMF-T. Results : The results showed a statistically significant correlation between BMI and DMF scores (p = 0.039), indicating that variations in nutritional status might be associated with oral health conditions. Conclusion/Lesson Learned : Although there is a significant difference in BMI across certain nutritional categories, BMI is not directly associated with students' oral health. This study highlights the importance of school-based nutritional monitoring programs and oral health education to enhance the overall health of adolescents.

Abstract

Counter-hegemony happens in most people who try to fight against ‘the avarice’ and take control of many sectors of life, which refers to hegemony. As stated before, the problem of this research focused on what kinds of counter-hegemony modes are shown in 6 Underground Movie. Meanwhile, the objective of this research is to find out about kinds of counter-hegemony modes shown in 6 Underground Movie. This research utilizes dialogues and scenes from the movie as the data, which are analyzed using the counter-hegemony theory by Antonio Gramsci. The source of data in this research is a movie entitled 6 Underground. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a convenient method, which is a descriptive-qualitative method. Based on analyzing the data, the researcher found 15 data, namely, 5 resistances in thinking, 5 resistances in desiring, and 5 resistances in acting. As a result, the modes of counter- hegemony existed, and those define how the modes interrelate with each of them to achieve the goal of counter-hegemony. By conducting this research, the researcher expects that this research can give the readers an overview of counter-hegemony, and hegemonic opposition characteristics. The researcher also intends to reveal the counter-hegemony modes or movements to the next researcher, the academy, and society. The researcher hopes that the modes of counter-hegemony can be explained clearly in this research.

Abstract

Learning is required to provide opportunities for students to be involved in the learning process, including chemistry learning. Learning chemistry is still a scourge for most children, or is considered a difficult subject. Based on observations and interviews, the results showed that students were less actively involved in learning activities. This is because teachers have not optimized the use of methods and innovative learning models. This research focuses more on the application of the PBL learning model. The hope is that students will be motivated to study chemistry, especially the topic of physical and chemical changes. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data processing techniques are carried out by describing the data collected and analyzing the implementation of learning, in order to find best practices that can be disseminated. The impact of applying the problem based learning model on material on physical changes and chemical changes is very affective because it can make students active in participating in learning activities and learning outcomes also increase. In order to make learning innovation work well in the future, you must: Carry out careful planning in the learning process which can be done through coordination with teachers and education staff. Careful planning ensures that innovation will not disrupt the flow of in-depth learning of the material. On the other hand, innovation can support a better level of understanding of the material.
