Abstract

Pangkalpinang City is one of the municipalities in Indonesia that was planned to transform into a developed urban environment by 2030. To help achieve the city’s development goal, this study presents an analysis of the spatial structure of the urban service center of Pangkalpinang City, which comprises the Rawa Bangun, Gedung Nasional, Masjid Jamik, Pasar Padi, and Bintang sub-districts, using Kevin Lynch’s image-forming elements, that is, path, edge, district, node, and landmark. A qualitative descriptive method was used to interpret users’ spatial experiences through field observations and supporting secondary data. The results show that the urban service center area is shaped by a complex hierarchical path, natural and artificial edges, diverse functional districts, many nodes in the form of intersections, bridges, a public transport terminal, and ten cultural and non-cultural landmarks. These findings highlight how Pangkalpinang City’s spatial structure and functional patterns may interact to support the city’s public services, and they can guide future spatial planning of the city towards a more integrated and citizen-friendly city.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic education values in strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) among MSME actors in Talunombo Village, Sapuran District, Wonosobo Regency. The program was conducted through the 2024 PPK Ormawa initiative, which focused on entrepreneurship management training using the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) approach. The main issue identified was the declining culture of mutual cooperation due to modernization and rising economic individualism. The training targeted woven-bag and batik MSME groups, aiming to enhance managerial skills while internalizing Islamic values such as ta’awun (mutual assistance), ukhuwah (brotherhood), syura (consultation), and amal jama’i (collective work). Findings indicate that the program successfully improved technical abilities, strengthened collective work ethics, and promoted economic practices rooted in Islamic morality. Collaboration among MSME actors increased significantly, demonstrated by shared production resources and cooperative efforts in fulfilling large orders. The study concludes that integrating Islamic educational concepts into community empowerment programs is effective in reinforcing mutual cooperation and supporting sustainable MSME development socially, spiritually, and economically.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a desktop-based sales information system to address the limitations of manual data recording at Lembur Kuring Mini Garden, a small business specializing in flower seedlings. Rapid advancements in information technology and the need for accurate, structured, and efficient data processing highlight the importance of computerized systems in supporting business operations. Manual processes such as recording customer data, stock inventory, and sales transactions often lead to errors, data duplication, and delays in decision-making. To overcome these issues, the system was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes planning, analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The application was built using Visual Studio 2012 with C# and SQL Server as the database management system, while Crystal Reports was utilized for generating sales and inventory reports. Data collection was conducted through interviews to obtain system requirements directly from the business owner. The implemented system consists of modules for managing customer data, flower stock, and sales transactions, each equipped with essential functions including add, edit, delete, search, and report generation. Black Box Testing was employed to evaluate system functionality, focusing on input validation, process accuracy, interface responsiveness, and output correctness, all of which showed successful results. The findings indicate that the developed system effectively replaces the previous manual process, improves operational efficiency, reduces recording errors, and provides more organized and reliable information to support decision-making. Overall, the system demonstrates its feasibility and relevance for small businesses that require structured and efficient sales and inventory management.

Abstract

Background: Arabic listening lessons often rely on passive audio repetition, leaving students with little opportunity to check their understanding or receive immediate feedback. This condition slows their progress, especially in recognizing key phonemes and responding accurately. Aims: This study aims to develop and validate a web-based interactive listening tool using text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-recognition (ASR) to support students’ Arabic listening proficiency. Methods: The research followed the Dick, Carey & Carey model through the stages of analysis, design, development, and expert validation. Data were collected through needs analysis, classroom observations, and interviews with teachers to identify learners’ challenges in Arabic listening. After the prototype was created, expert judgment sheets were used to gather validation data from design and content specialists. The responses were then analyzed using percentage-based validity scoring to determine the feasibility of the media. The prototype integrated web-based TTS and ASR modules, specifying platform architecture, speech engines, supported languages, and technical parameters to ensure replicability. Results: The results show that the media supports active listening practice and helps address common learner difficulties, particularly in phoneme recognition and comprehension. TTS provided clear and natural audio, while ASR offered direct corrective feedback. Expert assessments indicated high feasibility, with a design validity score of 92% and content validity of 87%. Implications: The findings indicate that TTS–ASR integration can ease teachers’ correction workload and help students practice more independently, offering practical potential for broader classroom use.

Abstract

The development of Islam in the Jambi region cannot be separated from the role of several prominent scholars. However, no comprehensive research has been conducted on these scholars, one of whom is K.H. Abdus Somad of Jambi. He is an important figure behind the development of Islam in Jambi, particularly during the Dutch colonial period. Therefore, this study aims to explore his da’wah, especially through written media, or what is known as da’wah bi al-kitab. This research is a qualitative study using philological and historical approaches. This is because the object of this research is the manuscript written by Abdus Somad titled Hidâyat al-Mubtadî li al-Mas’alah al-Muqtadî. The historical approach is used to understand the situation and conditions surrounding Abdus Somad in conducting da’wah bi al-kitab in Jambi. This study proves that the book Hidâyat al-Mubtadî li al-Mas’alah al-Muqtadî used by Abdus Somad as a study material is quite influential. This is due to the method of writing the book, which is simple and straightforward, yet covers most of the fiqh issues within it.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged people to be more concerned about their health through the use of physical activity monitoring applications. This study aims to compare user experiences of three physical activity tracking applications, namely Physical Traces (developed by researchers), Samsung Health, and Strava, using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) approach. EUCS assesses user satisfaction based on five dimensions: content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. Data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale-based questionnaire distributed to 107 respondents. The results showed that all questionnaire items were valid and reliable. The Samsung Health application excelled in the content and timeliness dimensions, Strava excelled in accuracy, while Physical Traces had the highest scores in ease of use and format. However, a statistically significant difference was found only in the accuracy dimension (p = 0.0016). These findings provide an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of each application, as well as input for improving the Physical Traces application in the future.
