Abstract

Model pembelajaran Discovery Learning merupakan pembelajaran yang menerapkan eksplorasi agar peserta didik dapat menemukan dan memahami, serta memecahkan masalah. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini ada dua yaitu mengetahui pengaruh dan mengetahui perbedaan signifikasi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan LKPD. Pendekatan penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif memakai metode quasi eksperimen Nonequivalent Control Grup Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII. Teknik pengambilam sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, angket, dokumentasi. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar soal tes dan angket. Pengujian instrumen menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji prasyarat, uji n-gain, dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan LKPD dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Dilihat dari nilai postest yang mendapatkan nilai dalam kategori sedang dan tinggi dan hasil uji N-Gain peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen termasuk pada kategori sedang, sedangan pada kelas kontrol masih terdapat pada kategori rendah, sehingga terdapat perbedaan signifikasi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the pedagogical competence of Social Studies (IPS) teachers in Lamongan Regency in implementing literacy-based learning and assessment. The program was initiated in response to teachers’ limited understanding of comprehensive literacy concepts and their challenges in designing learning strategies and authentic assessment tools that measure students’ critical thinking skills. The activity was conducted through workshops and sharing sessions using participatory approaches, including interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical sessions on designing literacy-based lesson plans and assessment instruments. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and ability to apply literacy principles in Social Studies instruction. Most participants were able to identify literacy elements, design learning activities that promote critical thinking, and develop authentic literacy-based assessment tools. Furthermore, the training fostered collaboration among teachers through the MGMP as a sustainable professional learning community. Overall, this program contributes to improving the quality of Social Studies learning in Lamongan Regency and serves as a best practice model that can be replicated in other regions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a snake and ladder game media based on Augmented Reality that is feasible and effective in increasing the motivation to learn social studies and environmental awareness. This development research uses the Borg and Gall model modified into 8 stages, namely (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision (6) product trial (7) product revision (8) usage trial. The research design uses a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent controlgroup design. This study involved media experts, material experts, social studies teachers, and eighth-grade students of SMP Labschool UNESA 2. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the study showed that the snake and ladder game media based on augmented reality was declared "very feasible". The N-gain test results showed that social studies learning motivation obtained 0.61 and environmental awareness of 0.56, in the moderate category. These results indicate that the snakes and ladders game media based on augmented reality is quite effective in increasing social studies learning motivation and environmental awareness. In addition, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, which had a significant effect on social studies learning motivation and environmental awareness. Therefore, the snakes and ladders game media based on augmented reality can be used by teachers as an alternative interactive and interesting social studies learning media to encourage active student involvement.

Abstract

The Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model is a group-based instructional strategy that promotes students’ activeness, collaboration, and individual responsibility in discussions, thereby improving learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model assisted by question cards on the social studies learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 17 Surabaya on the topic of Indonesian Social Diversity. The research problem was based on the low level of student participation and learning achievement in social studies. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 60 students, divided into 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Data were collected through an essay test based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), which had been tested for validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.949). Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test to determine differences within groups and the Mann–Whitney test to examine differences between groups. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (84.77) was higher than that of the control class (68.20). The Mann–Whitney test indicated a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), demonstrating a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. The effect size value of 0.86 indicated a strong effect. Therefore, the NHT cooperative learning model assisted by question cards is more effective than conventional learning in improving students’ social studies learning outcomes.

Abstract

Aktivitas pendakian gunung di kalangan masyarakat, khususnya generasi muda, terus meningkat dan tidak lagi semata-mata dimaknai sebagai kegiatan rekreasi, tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukasi serta pencarian pengalaman baru. Gunung Penanggungan, khususnya jalur Kedungudi, memiliki karakteristik unik karena terdapat sebelas situs candi peninggalan masa Majapahit yang berpotensi memengaruhi motivasi pendaki. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kesadaran historis terhadap motivasi pendakian di jalur tersebut. Pendekatan kuantitatif eksplanatori diterapkan melalui survei terhadap 128 responden dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran historis responden berada pada kategori sedang menuju tinggi (mean = 3,32), sedangkan motivasi pendakian berada pada kategori sedang (mean = 3,02). Persamaan regresi Y = 15,177 + 0,999X dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05) membuktikan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan kesadaran historis terhadap motivasi pendakian. Nilai R² sebesar 0,312 menunjukkan kontribusi sebesar 31,2%, sementara 68,8% dipengaruhi faktor lain seperti rekreasi, interaksi sosial, dan tantangan fisik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa aspek sejarah dapat menjadi daya tarik penting dalam aktivitas pendakian. Hasil penelitian mengimplikasikan pentingnya integrasi edukasi historis dalam pengelolaan jalur pendakian berbasis warisan budaya.

Abstract

Education is an important and useful thing in improving the standard of human life; through education, participants can improve skills that lead to a changing learning process. Education in the 21st century requires a transformation of learning that fosters deeper engagement with knowledge and encourages adaptive problem-solving. One of the skills that needs to be developed in Social Studies learning is scientific thinking ability. The inquiry-based learning model is one of the student-centered learning models that sharpens thinking skills through exploration and problem-solving. Artificial intelligence is a technology that helps students in learning, so that students can easily obtain information. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted guided inquiry learning model on the scientific thinking skills of eighth-grade students at Junior High School 8 Gresik. This research uses a quantitative approach with a non-equivalent control group experimental design. Data was collected through pretests and posttests, as well as observation sheets, and then analyzed using statistical tests. The research results indicate that the application of the Artificial Intelligence-assisted guided inquiry learning model significantly impacts the improvement of students' scientific thinking abilities. This model is effective in promoting scientific inquiry, analysis, inference, and argumentation activities in social studies learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics and potential of hot spring resources in Toya Bungkah Village, Bangli Regency, Bali, and formulate strategies for their sustainable utilization as a tourist destination. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The study site was located in the Batur Natural Hot Spring area, with informants comprising local residents, tourism managers, and both domestic and international tourists. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, using interview guides and observation sheets as instruments. Findings revealed that the hot springs have temperatures ranging from 35°C to 43°C and contain minerals such as sulfur, calcium, and magnesium, which are believed to offer health benefits. Utilization includes tourism, hydrotherapy, and support for the local economy, managed by the Batur Traditional Village with a revenue-sharing system that supports cultural and social activities. The challenges identified include insufficient digital promotion, inadequate facilities, and unmanaged environmental risks. Proposed strategies involve strengthening digital marketing, improving infrastructure, training local human resources, and establishing community-based environmental regulations. In conclusion, the utilization of Toya Bungkah hot springs significantly contributes to community welfare but requires well-planned and sustainable management to ensure long-term benefits.
