Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill. The population was all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang in academic year 2017/2018 which were distributed into three classes. The students of class VIII 2 and VIII 3 were selected as research samples by random sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained by the essay test of mathematical representation skill. The analysis data used t test and it showed that the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used discovery learning was greater than the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used non discovery learning. The results of this research concluded that discovery learning was influenced to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam tiga kelas. Siswa kelas VIII 2 dan VIII 3 terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan representasi matematis berbentuk uraian. Analisis data menggunakan uji t  dan diperoleh hasil bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model discovery learning lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran non-discovery. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci: discovery learning, kemampuan representasi matematis, pengaruh

Abstract

The Influence of Discovery Learning Model Towards Student’s Mathematical Concept Comprehension.This experimental research aimed to know the Influence of discovery learning model towards student’s mathematical concept comprehension. The population of this research was all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Natar in academic year 2018/2019 as many as 300 students that were distributed into11 classes.The sampling was done by purposif sampling technique and it was chosen students of VIII A as many as 25 students and VIII B as many as 30 students as samples. The design used was the randomized pretest-posttest control grup design. The data in this researh were obtained by mathematical concept comprehension test.The data analysis of this research used  t-test. Based on the result of research, it was concluded discovery learning model have an effect on students conceptual understanding of mathematics. Keyword: discovery learning, understanding of mathematical concepts

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of think pair square type viewed by students mathematical communication ability. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of Muhammadiyah Junior High School 3 Bandar Lampung in even semester, academic year of 2015/2016 and the samples of this research were students of VII-B and VII-C class which were chosen by purposive random sampling. This research used posttest only control design. Based on the result of this research, it was gotten the conclusion that the implementation of cooperative learning model of think pair square type wasnt effective viewed by students mathematical communication ability.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair square ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-B dan VIII-C yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain posttest only control design. Abstract

This quasi experimental research was intended to find out the effectiveness of Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) learning in terms of students understanding mathematical concept ability. The design of this research was posttest only control design. The populations of this research were all students of IX class at SMP IT Ar-Raihan Bandarlampung in academic year 2016/2017. The samples of the research were the students of class IX C and IX D that determined by purposive sampling technique. The data of the research was obtained through the best in form of description test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using Mann Whitney U test, it showed that the Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) was not effective in terms of students understanding mathematical concept ability. However in classes that used ATM learning, the students understanding mathematical concept ability was increased from previous learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP IT Ar- Raihan Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2016/ 2017. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX C dan IX D yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes berupa tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U, menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Namun, pada kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran ATM, kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa meningkat dari pembelajaran sebelumnya.Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis, Alqurun Teaching Model.

Abstract

This research and development is aims to develop the worksheet based on guided inquiry learning for valid, practical, and effective to improve students' critical thinking skills. The instrument that used is validation questionnaire by media and material expert to know the validity of worksheet, teacher and student response to know practicality of the worksheet. Data analysis of average validation score by material and media experts are 3,92 and 3,72 and average score of practicality by teachers and students are 3.42 and 3.52. The result of the test of students' critical thinking skills is mean post test is higher than pre test and the gain value shows the gain average score of 0.55 in the medium category and strong effect size is 2,69. Thus it can be concluded that worksheet based on guided inquiry is valid, practical, and effective to improve the ability of critical thinking students.Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan mengembangkan LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah berupa lembar angket validasi oleh ahli media dan materi, data respon guru dan siswa berturut-turut untuk mengetahui kevalidan dan kepraktisan LKPD. Hasil analisis data skor validasi oleh ahli materi dan media secara berturut-turut diperoleh rerata sebesar 3,92 dan 3,72 dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis data skor kepraktisan berdasarkan respon guru dan siswa berturut-turut sebesar 3,42 dan 3,52 dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis data kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diketahui bahwa rerata nilai akhir kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa lebih dari nilai awal kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan analisis data gain menunjukkan rata-rata gain sebesar 0,55 dengan kategori sedang dan effect size kuat sebesar 2,69. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.Kata kunci : berpikir kritis, LKPD, inkuiri terbimbing

Abstract

This experimental research aimed to know the effect of the contextual approach towards student's mathematical problem solving ability and belief. This research used post-test only control group design.The population of this research was all grade 8th students of SMPN 2 Sekampung in the academic year of 2013/2014. By purposive random sampling technique, it was chosen VIII.2 and VIII.3 class as research samples. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical problem solving ability and belief scale. This research concluded that the contextual approach affects towards students mathematical problem solving ability and belief.Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan belief siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Sekampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Melalui teknik purposive random sampling terpilihlah kelas VIII.2 dan VIII.3 sebagai sampel penelitian. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala belief. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan kontekstual berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan belief siswa.Kata kunci: belief, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pendekatan kontekstual

Abstract

This research aims to develop students’ worksheet-based on PBL and test its effectiveness toward students’  mathematical communication skills and self confidence of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. This research procedure uses the procedure by Tessmer, namely preliminary phase and formative evaluation phase which includes self evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, small group) and field test. The data was obtained through mathematical communication test and self confidence scale. The results of the expert reviews show that students’ worksheet-based on PBL has met the feasibility standards of content, media and language in very good category. the result of the one-to-one and small group show very good category. The results of data analysis in the field test showed that the student mathematical communication skill and self confidence in the experimental class is higher than the control class. It can be concluded that students’ worksheet-based on PBL is effective to improve the students’ mathematical communication and self confidence.Penelitian pengembangan bertujuan mengembangkan LKPD berbasis PBL dan menguji keefektifannya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung. Prosedur penelitian ini menggunakan prosedur Tessmer, yaitu tahap preliminary dan formative evaluation yang meliputi self evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, small group) dan field test. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes komunikasi matematis dan skala self confidence. Hasil expert reviews menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis PBL  memenuhi standar kelayakan isi, media dan bahasa yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil one-to-one dan small group termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis data field test menunjukkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Sehingga disimpulkan LKPD berbasis PBL efektif meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self confidence peserta didik.Kata kunci : LKPD, PBL, komunikasi matematis, self confidence

Abstract

This quasi-experiment research aimed to know the effectiveness of implementation of cooperative learning model of group investigation viewed from students mathematical conceptual comprehension. The population of the study was all students of grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 which consist of four classes with the samples were students of VII A and VII D class which were selected by purposive sampling technique. The design which was used was posttest only control design. The data of students mathematical conceptual comprehension was obtained from essay test. Abstract

This research was motivated by the emergence of barriers to learning students on the materialof sequence and series. The research began interviews with teachers of mathematics acquired (1) students had difficulties to understand the concept of sequence and series, and (2) students' learning obstacle to solve problems of sequence and series. The didactical design conceived to overcome learning difficulties in students, making students' anticipation range of possible responses. This research aimed to (1) formulate didactic design of sequence and series with Contextual Socratic method, and (2) find out the results of the implementation of the didactic design towards students' critical thinking skills. This research used a qualitative method from Research and Development. The technique of collecting data were observation, interviews, and tests. The subject of research was students of MTsN 2 Pesawaran. The data were analyzed descriptive qualitatively. This research resulted learning design of sequence and series that was developed in the lesson plan. Based on the implementation of didactic design of sequence and series can be concluded that this didactic design is one alternative of instructional design to facilitate critical thinking skills.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh munculnya hambatan belajar siswa pada materi barisan dan deret. Penelitian diawali dengan wawancara terhadap guru matematika diperoleh (1) siswa kesulitan memahami konsep barisan dan deret, dan (2) siswa kesulitan menyelesaikan soal barisan dan deret. Desain didaktis disusun untuk mengatasi kesulitan belajar pada siswa, dengan membuat antisipasi berbagai kemungkinan respon siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) merumuskan desain didaktis materi barisan dan deret dengan metode Socrates Kontekstual, dan (2) mengetahui hasil implementasi desain didaktis terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa MTsN 2 Pesawaran. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan suatu produk berupa rancangan pembelajaran barisan dan deret yang dikembangkan dalam rencana pembelajaran. Berdasarkan implementasi desain didaktis barisan dan deret dapat disimpulkan bahwa desain didaktis ini merupakan salah satu alternatif desain pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, desain didaktis, kontekstual, socrates

Abstract

The population of this research was all students of grade XIPA of SMA Negeri 2 Metro in academic year of 2017/2018 with total 162 students and that was distributed into five classes. The samples of this research were students of XIPA 2 and XIPA 3 class that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design which used was pretest-posttest only control grup design. The data of this research were obtained by the essays test of adaptive reasoning ability. Analysis data of the research used t-test. Based on the result of the research and the data analysis, it can be concluded that guided discovery learning afffects student’s adaptive reasoning ability.  Penelitian experimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh guided discovery learning terhadap kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa.
