Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of problem based learning model towards students representative mathematical ability. This research design was pretestposttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of Junior High School 1 Gisting in academic year of 2015/2016 which were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII 1 and VIII 2 class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The data of this research were obtained by representative mathematical ability test and it was analyzed by Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was concluded that problem based learning model did not influence towards students representative mathematical ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretestposttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gisting tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII 1 dan VIII 2yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Rank-Sum. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: pengaruh, problem based learning, representasi matematis

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectivity of contextual approach in terms of students mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Metro in Academic Year 2016/2017 distributed into nine classes. The samples of this research were students of VII A and VII B classes which were choosen by cluster random sampling. This research used pretest-postest control group design. The instrument of this research was essay test of mathematical communication skill. The data analysis of this research used t-test. Based on the result of this research and discussion, it was concluded that contextual approach was effective in terms of students mathematical communication skill. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan kontekstual ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Metro tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 sebanyak 288 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A dan VII B yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang berbentuk essay. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pendekatan kontekstual efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis.Kata kunci: efektivitas, komunikasi matematis, pendekatan kontekstual

Abstract

This experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of discovery learning model in terms of student's mathematical problem solving skill. The population of this research was all grade eight students of Junior High School state of 3 Natar in academic year of 2017/2018 which were distributed into ten classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII-D and VIII-E class which were chosen by purposive sampling. The design of this research was posttest only control group design. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical problem solving skill. The data analysis of this research used Mann-Whitney U test. Based on the research, it was concluded that discovery learning model was not effective in terms of students mathematical problem solving skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model discovery learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester ganjil SMP Negeri 3 Natar tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-D dan VIII-E yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to describe the learning and indicators which were shown by student in mathematical disposition used PQ4R learning method. Subject of this research was student VII-G grade SMP N 20 Bandar Lampung. The qualitative research data was shown in description which explain student mathematical disposition that shown in learning process. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that mathematical disposition which was frequent shown in learning process are confidence and curiosity.Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran dan indikator yang ditunjukkan siswa dalam disposisi matematis dengan menggunakan metode PQ4R. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-G SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung. Data penelitian merupakan data kualitatif dalam bentuk uraian yang menjelaskan disposisi matematis siswa yang muncul selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa disposisi matematis yang dominan muncul selama pembelajaran adalah percaya diri dan rasa ingin tahu.Kata kunci: disposisi matematis, kualitatif, preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan percakapan kritis matematis siswa di kelas VII-H SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan menggunakan metode Socrates dalam pendekatan saintifik. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-H di SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif tentang percakapan kritis matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, lembar observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh simpulan bahwa dalam percakapan kritis matematis terdapat: (1) indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis yang muncul yaitu interpretasi, analisis, dan evaluasi, (2) tipe pertanyaan Socrates yang paling banyak digunakan yaitu klarifikasi dan alasan-alasan dan bukti penyelidikan, dan (3) tahapan saintifik yang paling banyak dilakukan yaitu tahapan communicating.  This qualitative research aimed at description students’ mathematical critical conversation at VII-H class of SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung during the learning process by using Socrates method in ScientificApproach. The subject of this research was VII-H students of SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung in 2017/2018 year. The data in this research was qualitative data about students’ mathematical critical conversation that was obtained by field notes, observation sheet, documentation, and interview. The data were analyzed through three phases, those are; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion taking. Regarding to the result of the research, it can be conluded that in mathematical critical conversation there were: (1) indicator of mathematical critical thinking ability was arisen, those are; interpretation, analysis, and evaluation, (2) Socrates’s types of question much used  were; clarification and reasons and evidence of the investigation, and (3) scientific phase much done was communicating step. Kata kunci: metode Socrates, pendekatan saintifik, percakapan kritis matematis

Abstract

This qualitative-descriptive research aimed to know the student’s errors in solving mathematics word problems viewed by four aspects, such as understanding the question, making model of mathematics, doing calculation, and making conclusions. The subjects of this research were students of VII B class of SMPN 28 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014. The collecting data was done by test and interview. The data analysis was done by data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the result of research, students’ errors in solving mathematics word problem were: (1) understanding the question (81,03%) (2) making  model of mathematics (56,03%) (3) doing calculation (56,90%) (4) making conclusions (57,76%). The biggest student’s error was understanding the question aspect. This case was caused students weren’t able to solve question systematically.Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika ditinjau dari empat aspek, yaitu memahami soal, membuat model matematika, melakukan komputasi, dan menarik kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMPN 28 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika adalah: (1) memahami soal (81,03%) (2) membuat model matematika (56,03%) (3) melakukan komputasi (56,90%) (4) menarik kesimpulan (57,76%).  Kesalahan terbesar siswa adalah aspek memahami soal. Hal ini disebabkan siswa tidak mampu mengerjakan soal secara sistematis.Kata kunci: kesalahan, matematika, penyelesaian soal cerita

Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that the cooperative learning model of think pair share type influence in students mathematical communication skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair share terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan ekperimen semu dengan post-test only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas IX A sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih secara purposive random sampling. Data penelitian ini berupa skor postes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Abstract

This research and development aimed to produce the students worksheet with cooperative learning type Think Pair Share that valid and practical, then find its effectiveness towards mathematical communication. The stages of development model used in this research is the 4-D development model of Thiagarajan which is limited to the Define, Design, Develop stage. The research population was grade VIII students in SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2015-2016. The result of this research is the validity of worksheet by the material expert has fulfilled the criterion "good". The content validity by media experts and linguists has met the criteria of "very good". Worksheet practicality have met the criteria of "very good". However worksheet with cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share has not met the effective criteria in improving the ability of mathematical communication. The conclusion of this development and research is that worksheet with developed Think Pair Share learning model has been valid, practically used, but not yet effective to improve mathematical communication.Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan LKPD dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan 4-D dari Thiagarajan yang dibatasi pada tahap Define, Design, Develop. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Al Kautsar Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015-2016. Hasil penelitian memenuhi kriteria baik berdasarkan validitas ahli materi, memenuhi kriteria sangat baik berdasarkan validitas ahli media dan ahli bahasa. Kepraktisan LKPD telah memenuhi kriteria sangat baik. Namun LKPD dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share belum memenuhi kriteria efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Simpulan penelitian yaitu LKPD yang dikembangkan telah valid, praktis tetapi belum efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Kata kunci: LKPD, think pair share, komunikasi matematis

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of guided discovery learning model viewed by students mathematics problem solving. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 as many as 268 students that was distributed into 8 classes. The sample of this research was students of VIII H class which was chosen by purposive random sampling technique. The design of this research was one-group posttest only design. Based on the result of data analysis, the percentage of students who have good mathematical problem solving in guided discovery learning was not over than 60%. The conclusion of this research was guided discovery learning model was ineffective viewed by students mathematical problem solving.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model guided discovery learning ditinjau dari pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 sebanyak 268 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam 8 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII H yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah one group posttest only design. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, persentase siswa yang mempunyai pemecahan masalah matematis yang baik dalam model guided discovery learning tidak lebih dari 60%. Abstract

The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of Junior High School 3 Natar in academic year of 2015/2016 which were distributed into five classes, then it was taken two classes as the sampel by purposive random sampling. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the cooperative learning model of MMP type wasnt effective in terms of students mathematical representations skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe MMP ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Natar tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas, kemudian diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel melalui teknik purposive random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe MMP tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: kemampuan representasi matematis, MMP, pembelajaran kooperatif
