Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential effects of academic supervision and reflective literacy on teacher effectiveness. Using a qualitative approach and a case study design, the study was conducted in a public elementary school in Tulang Bawang Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 14 participants (1 principal, 2 supervisors, and 11 classroom teachers). In addition, records from performance reviews, supervision reports, and teacher reflection journals were examined, and six classroom learning sessions were directly observed. The results demonstrate that typical supervision, which focuses solely on administrative tasks, is insufficient to improve instructors' instructional competency. However, teachers who actively engaged in reflective literacy practices such as updating lesson plans, interacting with colleagues and journaling independently showed significant performance improvements. This group of reflective teachers achieved an average performance score of 85/100, compared to the mere 70/100 for non-reflective teachers. They may also change their teaching methods three or four times a semester since they become more adaptable. Principal leadership, which sees supervision as a coaching process, is one crucial component of strength. The study's conclusions indicate that the integration of reflective literacy transforms academic supervision into a teacher-centered professional learning process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning interest of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Labuhan Dalam. This study aims to determine the effect of using a game-based learning model based on a wordwall game on fourth-grade students' learning interest in science subjects at SD Negeri 1 Labuhan Dalam. The research method used is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 89 students, and the sample was determined using a cluster random sampling technique. Data collection in this study involved observation, testing, and documentation. Data analysis prerequisite tests used normality and homogeneity tests. Hypothesis testing used simple linear regression. The results showed that the use of a game-based learning model based on a wordwall game had an effect on fourth-grade students' learning interest in science subjects at SD Negeri 1 Labuhan Dalam in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

The low conceptual understanding of fifth grade students in the Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject was one of the problems identified at SD Negeri 1 Nunggalrejo. This study aimed to determine the effect of Discovery Learning based student worksheets (LKPD) on students' conceptual understanding. This research employed a quasi experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of 40 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Nunggalrejo, all of whom were selected as the research sample through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through conceptual understanding tests and observation sheets. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the use of Discovery Learning based LKPD had a significant effect on students' conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Nunggalrejo in the 2025/2026 academic year. The results showed a higher improvement in conceptual understanding in the experimental class than in the control class, with an average N-Gain score of 0.46 in the experimental class and 0.36 in the control class. The results of the simple linear regression test indicated that the calculated F value (31.393) was greater than the F-table value (4.41), with a significance value of < 0.001. Therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, Discovery Learning based LKPD can be used as an effective learning alternative to improve students conceptual understanding in IPAS learning.
