Abstract

Mathematical thinking in problem-solving is an important goal of learning mathematics. The ability to use various ways of presenting mathematical concepts (multi-representation) is an important aspect of mathematical thinking. In its implementation, students experience problem-solving failures because of difficulties in making changes from one representation to another. This fact can be seen from the initial observations in statistics class, which showed that out of 37 students, only 12 students were successful in solving statistical problems because they could change verbal and graphic representations to symbolic ones correctly. Meanwhile, 17 out of 25 students failed because they did not understand the problems displayed in graphic form. To overcome this problem, statistical module development research has been carried out by applying the SPSS practice video barcode innovation. The development method uses a modified 4-D model, namely define, design, and develop. Modifications are carried out by eliminating the dissemination stage due to limited time and research costs. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire. The data obtained are qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the module developed was included in the very feasible criteria, in terms of content feasibility at 85.78%, language feasibility at 88.61%, presentation feasibility at 84.82%, and graphic feasibility at 84.72%. The results of the trial were limited to 37 students who received a positive response of 85,63% so the statistics module was suitable for use as teaching materials.

Abstract

Green grass jelly plants are one of the famous traditional medicinal plants in Indonesia. Called a medicinal plant because it is believed to be able to overcome hypertension and heartburn. One of these plant cultivation areas is in the Kresek Urban Village, Kediri City, East Java. The head of the green grass jelly cultivation group in the area started cultivating green grass jelly since 2011 with a land area of 100 square meters (m²), then distributed grass jelly seeds to several housewives in the Kresek village of Kediri City who had to retire early from one of the largest cigarette factories in the city Kediri with the aim of helping the economy of the group of housewives. But so far the cooperation system has only been limited to buying and selling between members to the chairman in small numbers. Constraints faced by these groups include: 1) lack of land for planting green grass jelly plants because once harvested, cincau leaves will be harvested again at the next 3-4 weeks, and 2) management of buying and selling cincau that has not been effective so that the cincau leaves with request so often leaves are rotten or unable to fulfill orders. Therefore, some solutions are needed including the solution that can be proposed for the group above is the "bank cincau" program. The Cincau bank program is an integrated collaboration system where several activities include: 1) mass seeding of cincau leaves in the area of Kediri Kresek, 2) development of the cincau leaf storage system and marketing of cincau leaves, and 3) development of cincau leaf production technology ready for sale to develop a marketing system as well as the economic level of a group of housewives in the City of Kediri Kresek.

Abstract

This classroom action research investigates the efficacy of visual media in enhancing Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning among fourth-grade s tudents at SDN Banjaran 4, Kediri. Implemented across two cycles (February 2025), the study employed animated videos (Cycle I) and culturally contextualized 3D dioramas (Cycle II) to address identified learning gaps - diagnostic tests revealed 72% of students struggled with abstract concepts. Quantitative results demonstrated significant progress, with mean scores increasing from 58.6 (pre-test) to 74.2 (Cycle I) and 82.4 (Cycle II), while observational data showed an 85% boost in engagement. Qualitative analysis revealed improved conceptual mastery and classroom participation. The large effect size (Cohen's d = 1.24) substantiates visual media's effectiveness in facilitating concrete-to-abstract knowledge transitions, particularly for learners at Piaget's concrete operational stage. These findings underscore the pedagogical value of tailored visual aids in elementary IPAS instruction.
