Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah malnutrisi kronis akibat kekurangan gizi jangka panjang terkait dengan kurangnya asupan makanan. Stunting masih menjadi salah satu masalah gizi di Indonesia. Kabupaten Langkat merupakan salah satu kabupaten dengan prevalensi stunting tertinggi di Sumatera Utara. Banyak faktor yang memengaruhi kejadian stunting seperti karakteristik keluarga, pendapatan orang tua, usia ibu, dan berat lahir bayi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik keluarga dengan kejadian stunting pada anak usia 6-24 bulan. Kajian ini bersifat kuantitatif, dengan disain cross sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner terhadap 144 sampel melalui wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi spearman’s dan kendall’s tau b. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Langkat sebesar 50%. Hasil uji korelasi spearman’s mendapatkan hubungan antara panjang lahir bayi, umur ibu, pendapatan keluarga dan berat badan lahir bayi dengan kejadian stunting dengan nilai rho lebih kecil dari p value (rho < 0,05), dan dari hasil uji korelasi kendall’s tau b terdapat hubungan antara pendidikan ibu dengan kejadian stunting di mana nilai sig lebih kecil dari alpha (0,01 < 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah stunting berhubungan dengan panjang lahir bayi, umur ibu, pendidikan ibu dan berat badan lahir.

Abstract

The research background is related to inter-ethnic marriages carried out by couples with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, namely the Batak and Nias Adanva ethnicities. Differences in different linguistic and cultural backgrounds result in differences in interpreting and understanding the message or information conveyed, this can giving rise to misunderstandings. This research was conducted in Hutagodang Village, Kec. Batang Toru. South Tapanuli Regency.The main problem in this research is the description of intercultural communication and communication barriers between inter-ethnic marriage couples in Hutagodang Village. This research aims to find out and explain how intercultural communication in inter-ethnic marriage couples and what communication barriers occur in inter-ethnic marriage couples.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Positive and Significant Relationship Between Parental Guidance and Christian Social Behavior in the School Environment of Grade XI Students of SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This research method is a quantitative research method. The population of this study included all grade XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung who were Protestant Christians totaling 141 people, but only 36 people were determined as samples taken using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a closed questionnaire of 42 items, 20 items for variable X and 22 items for variable Y. The results of data analysis showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between Parental Guidance and Christian Social Behavior of Students in the SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung Environment. This is proven by: 1) The positive relationship test obtained the value of rxy = 0.597> rtable = 0.329, thus it is concluded that there is a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y. 2) The significant relationship test obtained the value of tcount = 4.336> ttable = 2.042. Thus Ha which states that there is a positive and significant relationship between the Relationship between Parental Guidance and Christian Social Behavior of Students in the School Environment of Class XI SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung in the 2023/2024 Academic Year is accepted.

Abstract

Andaliman is an endemic flora in the region around Lake Toba and is commonly used as a spice by the Batak ethnic community. Andaliman fruit in extract form has a lot of potential as an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. All the benefits possessed by andaliman extract have the potential to be widely used by the community. Therefore, it is important to know the shelf-life of the extract and the most suitable type of packaging to extend its shelf-life. This study aims to estimate the shelf-life of andaliman fruit extract and the packaging that can extend the shelf-life of the extract. The estimated shelf-life was calculated using the accelerated shelf-life test (ASLT) method using Arrhenius approach with the parameter of total flavonoids. This study used two types of packaging, namely glass bottle and plastic bottle stored at 37, 45, and 55 °C for 1 month with weekly testing. The results showed that andaliman fruit extract in plastic bottle packaging can last for 7.8 months at 37 °C and 6.8 months at 55 °C. While stored in glass bottle, andaliman fruit extract can last up to 12.4 months at 37 °C and 10.5 months at 55 °C. Based on these data, it is known that the shelf-life of extracts is influenced by storage temperature and packaging.  The higher the temperature, the shorter the shelf-life and the smaller the permeability, the longer the shelf-life.

Abstract

Kebutuhan energi, protein, dan zat besi dapat disumbangkan oleh makanan jajanan masing-masing sekitar 36%, 29%, dan 52%. Namun, makanan jajan yang tersedia disamping tidak selalu sehat dan bergizi juga perilaku siswa tidak selalu positif untuk kebutuhan gizi. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh media visual poster dan leaflet terhadap perilaku makanan jajanan pelajar suatu SMA di Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, Sumatera Utara, 2009. Dengan desain eksperimen kuasi one pre- and post-test group, penelitian dengan perlakuan pajangan poster dan leaflet di sekolah ini menilai pengaruh intervensi 2 minggu setelah perlakuan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode uji T-berpasangan terhadap sampel 80 pelajar kelas khusus. Sebelum dan setelah perlakuan, skor rata-rata pengetahuan siswa adalah 1,99 dan 3,00, skor rata-rata sikap adalah 1,80 dan 3,00. Tindakan konsumsi makanan para pelajar juga meningkat sebelum (x=1,76) dan sesudah (x=1,86) intervensi. Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara perilaku konsumsi makanan jajanan pada anak sekolah sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan gizi menggunakan media poster dan leaflet mampu meningkatkan perilaku gizi anak sekolah. Disarankan pihak sekolah dan puskesmas menggunakan poster dan leaflet sebagai salah satu media penyuluhan gizi menyampaikan informasi gizi tentang makanan jajanan dan isu kesehatan lain untuk mempromosikan upaya kesehatan sekolah. Street food plays an important role in students’ nutrition. About 36%, 29%, and 52% of energy, protein, and iron, respectively, can be contributed by street food. The aim of the research was to know effect of nutritional extension using healthy food poster and leaflet on street food consumption behaviour among Senior Height School students in District of Mandailing Natal. The research is quasi-experiment with one pre- and post-test group design. The intervention was conducted by displaying poster and giving leaflet to students. Effects of interventions were evaluated two weeks after intervention. Subjects are 80 students. Data were analyzing by using paired sample T-test. Result showed that the average scores of knowledge of students were 1.99 and 3.00 before and after intervention, respectively. The average scores of attitude were 1.80 and 3.00 before and after intervention, respectively). Also, the practice of food consumption among students also increases (1.76 and 1.86 for before and after intervention, respectively). There was a significant difference in street food consumption behavior among students between before and after intervention. It can be concluded that nutritional extension using visual posters and leaflets increase student’s nutritional behaviour. It is suggested that, both school and puskesmas, use poster and leaflet as media of nutritional extension regarding street food and other health issues to promote school health.

Abstract

Perbaikan pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia berjalan lamban dan tidak merata. Mutu layanan kesehatan sangat bervariasi karena distribusi tenaga kesehatan yang tidak merata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mutu layanan kesehatan ibu dan anak di daerah pedesaan dan perkotaan. Survei ini dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Mogang yang mewakili daerah terpencil dan Puskesmas Buhit yang mewakili wilayah perkotaan di Kabupaten Samosir. Mutu layanan kesehatan dinilai dengan metode Services Quality. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata- rata skor harapan untuk semua dimensi mutu layanan kesehatan di Puskesmas Buhit dan Puskemas Mogang tinggi. Persepsi pelayanan ke- sehatan oleh pasien di Puskemas Buhit dan Puskesmas Mogang dimensi tangibility, reliability, emphaty, accessibility, dan affordability yang berbeda (p < 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan persepsi masyarakat terhadap dimensi tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, dan emphaty (p > 0,05). Ada perbedaan nyata antara harapan dan kondisi mutu layanan kesehatan yang dipersepsikan oleh masyarakat pengguna puskesmas di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Buhit dan Puskesmas Mogang (p < 0,05). Harapan masyarakat pada pelayanan kesehatan puskesmas yang lebih baik antara masyarakat perkotaan dan pedesaan hampir sama. Hal ini meng- indikasikan mutu pelayanan kesehatan ibu dan anak yang diberikan oleh puskemas belum memenuhi harapan masyarakat. The purpose of the study is to understand the quality of service of mother and child health service in both urban and rural areas in District of Samosir. This cross sectional study was conducted in two health center areas repre- senting rural (Puskesmas Mogang) and urban (Puskesmas Buhit) in District of Samosir. In measuring the quality of service, Servqual concept of Albert Parasuraman was used. Result shows that the score for all expectations are high for all of health service dimension both in Puskesmas Mogang and Puskesmas Buhit. There are differences in perception of patients with re- gard to tangibility, reliability, empathy, accessibility, and affordability (p < 0,05) between those of Puskesmas Buhit and Mogang. There is no differ- ences in perception of community at large both in Mogang and Buhit regarding tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy (p > 0,05). There are significant differences on expectation and the reality of health service quality (p < 0,05) as it perceived by the community in both Puskesmas Buhit and Puskesmas Mogang. Community’s expectations of better health services quality are profound in both urban and rural areas. It is concluded that the existing quality of service not meeting the community expectation.

Abstract

The nuggets that have been made from chicken and vegetables have not utilized local potentials with high nutritional content and are relatively cheap, namely Cencaru fish and yellow sweet potato. Yellow Sweet Potatoes contain nutrients that are good in energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, calcium, phosphorus and iron. In Babalan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, many fish products have not been used optimally in an effort to improve the nutritional status of the community. One of the fish that is cheap but is less attractive to the community while its availability is a lot of cencaru fish (Megalaspis cordyla). In this area there are women who process snacks such as nuggets, noodles, but not yet varied. For this reason, women's empowerment was carried out in producing nuggets and yellow sweet potato cakes and cencaru fish. Through increasing the knowledge and skills of women in producing nuggets and yellow sweet potato cakes and cencaru fish, they become healthy, highly nutritious, inexpensive and cheap school food snacks, starting from production, packaging and marketing. Based on this, the activities of women's empowerment services in the manufacture of nugget and yellow sweet potato and cencaru fishes increase the knowledge and skills of partners in processing nugget and yellow sweet potato and cencaru fish cakes.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on clean and healthy living behaviors. This affects the improvement of clean living behavior and healthy behavior in a balanced manner so as to prevent exposure to covid-19. The purpose of this service is to increase students' knowledge, attitudes and behavior about PHBS and washing hands using soap with running water, which is used in this service, namely the edutaiment method. The educational method was carried out directly with edutainment to students of Muhammadyah 03 Junior High School for 30 minutes. To assess the success of education, pretests and post tests were conducted. The results of 19 students of SMP Muhammadyah 3 Medan Selayang, Medan City. The number of student participants who took part in the pretest and post test obtained a value for the pretest in the good category of 10.5% while in the moderate category of 89.5% and the value obtained by the post test in the good category 94.7% while in the moderate category 5.3%. The change in value in the good category increased by 85.2% and in the moderate category decreased by 84.2%. The interest of students to implement hand washing is very large, so that the counseling is easily accepted and can create a positive attitude towards the message conveyed which affects the behavior of students.

Abstract

According to the Household Health Survey (SKRT) 2001, nationally, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is still high (40.9%). One of the ways chosen to prevent anemia in pregnant women is by consuming iron tablets. Iron tablet administration program in Aceh Singkil is not successful yet because of several factors One of them is the less of extension given by the nutritionist to the local cadres. The purpose of this quasi-experimental study is to analyze the effect of the nutritional extension of iron tablet administration to pregnant women on knowledge and attitude of cadres of posyandu at Danau Paris, Aceh Singkil District. The population of this study was all of the 66 cadres of posyandu (integrated service post) in Danau Paris Sub-district, Aceh Singkil District. The result of paired sample t-test shows that the average total score of the respondent's knowledge before the extension was 22.17 (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the average total score of the respondents’ attitude before the extension was 13.11 and after the extension was 15.67 (p<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between knowledge and attitude of cadres regarding iron administration and iron benefit to pregnant women before and after extension.

Abstract

Obesity, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension in patient with renal kidney disorder increase the risk of renal failure which is characterized by decrease in the filtration capacity of kidney (glomerulus filtration pace). If the filtration capacity below 15 cc per minute, patient should had take hemodialysis for survival. In addition, it is important for them to control their eating pattern. The objective of the study would be to know food consumption pattern of patient with kidney failure taking ambulatory hemodialysis. This is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. Population was patient with renal failure undergoing ambulatory hemodialysis in RSUD dr. Pirngadi Medan. The size of sample was 55 of patients taken purposively. The data of food consumption pattern were collected by means of food frequency questionnaire and 24 hours food recall which was conducted two times. The result showed that most of the patients aged between 54 and 62 years old. Food consumption patterns─type, quantity, and frequency─were categorized as ‘not good’. Also, potassium and sodium intakes were in the ‘not good’ category. In general, the daily water intake of the patient was in excessive amount.
