Abstract

As international trade increases, so too does the risk involved. Therefore, good risk management is necessary to minimize the risks that arise. One way to do this is through hedging. This study aims to examine the impact of leverage, growth opportunity, firm size, profitability, and liquidity on hedging decisions in processing industry companies, which include two sectors: consumer cyclical and non-cyclical. The sample of this study was 30 companies listed on the IDX (idx.co.id) for the period 2020-2024. This study utilizes panel data comprising 150 observations, employing the binary logit estimation method, where the dependent variable is a dummy variable. This study provides an empirical contribution that reveals the relationship between financial factors (leverage, growth opportunity, firm size, liquidity, and profitability) on hedging decisions. The findings provide evidence that firm size and liquidity are dominant predictors of hedging decisions, with negative results, while other factors such as leverage, growth opportunity, and profitability do not affect hedging decisions, so that the results of this study can provide a new picture for companies in designing a more measurable hedging strategy and with this companies should focus more on managing their firm size and liquidity.

Abstract

This research analyzes the effect of digital financial literacy and financial technology on financial performance, with financial behavior as a mediator. The population used is the MSE actors in the South Brebes Regency area, consisting of 6 sub-districts. Sampling using the convenience sampling technique calculated by the Slovin formula, resulting in 110 participants. The data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires using a Likert scale, and then examined with SmartPLS 3.0 software. According to the results, adopting fintech is not the only way for MSEs to achieve excellent financial performance; responsible financial behavior and a firm understanding of digital financial literacy are also essential. Theoretically, this study highlights that enhancing MSE financial performance requires a combination of financial expertise and efficient technology use, since technology is insufficient on its own without the capacity to understand and utilize financial data strategically. From a managerial standpoint, the findings suggest that improving MSE actors’ financial capabilities, especially their comprehension, interpretation, and application of digital financial tools and concepts, is essential to guaranteeing that fintech solutions can be utilized efficiently. In an increasingly digital economic world, this capacity helps business owners make strategic, sustainable, and well-informed decisions that support the long-term resilience and success of their companies.

Abstract

Capital structure is the ratio or composition of debt and equity used to finance a company's operational activities. Capital structure reflects long-term decisions related to funding sources and is an important factor in determining a company's risk and return. This study examines the influence of profitability, liquidity, company size, and asset structure on capital structure in the property and real estate sector listed in Indonesia. The population in this study consists of 94 companies in the property and real estate sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2021 to 2023. Data collection was conducted using the secondary method, employing purposive sampling and unbalanced data, resulting in a sample of 58 companies with 139 observations. The data were analyzed quantitatively using descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that profitability and asset structure do not influence capital structure. Liquidity has a negative impact on capital structure. Company size has a positive impact on capital structure. Based on the research findings, property and real estate companies should not rely on profitability and asset structure to determine their capital structure. Companies should focus on liquidity and company size, as higher liquidity reduces dependence on debt financing.
