Abstract

Learning achievement is influenced by several factors, one of which is student motivation. This research was located in one of the junior high schools in Cimahi City, the purpose of this study is to ascertain whether there is a significant connection between student achievement in mathematics, particularly the Cartesian coordinate material, and learning motivation. This study utilizes a quantitative strategy with correlation analysis. The examining procedure utilized was purposive sampling. The subjects of this study were class VIII students with a total sample of 29 students. This study used test instruments in the form of daily test questions and non-tests in the form of learning motivation questionnaires. Information on learning motivation was gathered through a learning motivation poll while gaining accomplishment information was taken from the consequences of day to day tests at the school. The data were then analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results of data processing obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 <0.05 which indicates that there is a correlation between motivation and student achievement value Pearson Correlation is 0.630, which shows that there is a positive and strong relationship between learning motivation and students' mathematics learning achievement in Cartesian coordinate material.

Abstract

Every society in the world has a traditional cuisine. Traditional cuisine reflects the history, uniqueness, and culture of a society. One example of a traditional cuisine is gudeg from Yogyakarta and kimchi from Korea. Both are traditional cuisines that have been recognized by UNESCO as intangible heritage. The purpose of this research is to compare the similarities and differences between gudeg and kimchi. The method used is qualitative method. The data collection technique is a literature study by reading and understanding from books, journals or articles relevant to the theme. As a result, the similarities between gudeg and kimchi are that they both come from vegetables, are processed for a long time, and become icons of each region. The difference is that the taste, color, and texture of these two dishes are different. In conclusion, these two dishes are created by the adaptation of the community with the environment in which they live by creating traditional foods with distinctive flavors. The contribution of this research provides an understanding of traditional cuisine from various regions.

Abstract

This scoping review aims to consolidate the research that has been conducted on fractional learning challenges, with a particular emphasis on the various student groups, intervention strategies, outcomes, and specific learning problems. The research finds essential research topics and relevant papers and extracts data in order to gain an understanding of the intricate nature of fraction learning. The technique utilized in this study is a five-stage process. The preliminary literature searches produced a total of twenty-three articles, seven of which were chosen for a more in-depth examination. These publications covered a variety of themes, including the effectiveness of manipulatives, strategies for accommodating students who struggle with mathematics, focused training interventions, and instructor guidance. The findings of this research shed light on the myriad of difficulties associated with learning fractions. These difficulties range from basic conceptual and procedural comprehension to unique educational obstacles for a wide variety of student populations, including those with learning disabilities. The study focuses on a variety of intervention tactics, such as accommodations, strategic training, and the utilization of manipulatives, with the objective of enhancing problem-solving abilities, conceptual comprehension, and procedural proficiency in fractions. This all-encompassing examination highlights the ubiquity of misconceptions and the necessity of explicit training. It also highlights the usefulness of direct instruction, strategic education, and problem-solving exercises in improving students' comprehension of fractions. In order to overcome problems in learning fractions and to improve mathematical education, the findings advocate for the continuation of research and the incorporation of effective pedagogical approaches.

Abstract

It is important for students to have problem solving abilities, but in the field problem solving abilities are very low. Therefore, the aim of this research is to see an increase in students' mathematical problem solving abilities by implementing the Discovery learning model. This research was conducted at one of the Islamic junior high schools in Bandung Barat regency. This research is experimental research methods. The research sample was class VII B, totaling 18 people. The data collection technique uses tests, namely pretest and posttest with 5 test questions in the form of descriptions to determine students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The data analysis techniques used are prerequisite analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of the research are that the problem solving abilities of students whose learning uses the Discovery Learning model after being given learning are better than before being given the learning. This is shown through the results of the t test using the dependent t test which obtained a significant value (2-tailed) = 0.000. The n-gain test result was 0.5767 or 57.67%, which means that the effectiveness of implementing the Discovery Learning model in mathematics learning is in the medium category or can be interpreted as quite effective. So it can be concluded that the application of the learning model with the Discovery Learning approach can improve student problem solving and help students become more proficient in solving mathematical problem.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the role of teachers in shaping self-confidence in SD IES Al-Ghuroba, Sorong Regency. Overcoming the collapse of the character is to eliminate or improve the factors that cause it. There are five areas of education that can foster good character, namely: family, self, school, environment, and society. The development of national character is a collective commitment of the Indonesian people to face today's global demands. This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers in shaping the confident character of students and also the obstacles faced by teachers in shaping the confident character of students and their solutions. To achieve the above objectives, the type of research used in this research is qualitative research. Based on the results of direct observations and interviews between researchers and principals, teachers, and students at SD IES Al-Ghuroba. The results of the study indicate the efforts made by the teacher namely: giving motivation to students, giving praise or gifts, and often presenting them in front of their friends in turn in class. The obstacles faced by teachers in increasing the confidence of students are the mindset of students who are different and there are still some students who lack self-confidence. Therefore, the solution taken by the teacher as an educator is to try as much as possible to guide and provide strong motivation and encouragement to students so that they have self-confidence

Abstract

Indonesia’s rich culinary diversity reflects the culture and creativity of its society; however, the emergence of food trends like seblak illustrates changing consumer preferences, especially among youth and Muslim women. The rapid growth of seblak stalls across regions and its popularity for spicy, halal flavors make it an intriguing phenomenon to study from a consumer behavior perspective. This research aims to understand the reasons why Muslim women in Surabaya choose seblak using a quantitative approach and semi-structured interviews. The findings show that the main factors are the delicious and spicy taste, affordable price, easy accessibility, and guaranteed halal status. Respondents also mention that seblak is chosen because it is easy to find nearby and is supported by social media trends. Despite awareness of potential negative health effects from over-consumption, most still see seblak as a practical and enjoyable snack. This study contributes to understanding the behavioral factors of Muslim consumers and enriches the discourse on Indonesia’s culinary heritage as a cultural identity.

Abstract

The Julius calendar or also known as the Old Style calendar is a calendar pioneered by Julius Caesar as a reform of the Roman republican calendar. The Julian calendar was formed at the time of knowing a difference of about 3 months in the calendar that was in effect at that time, namely the Ancient Roman Calendar which had been replaced long ago. The Ancient Roman calendar set the length of a year at only 365 days, ignoring the remaining days of the actual solar year. This is known when the day of the harvest season coincided with a holiday among the Romans which actually fell in summer but occurred in winter, where the number of days in the Roman year was shorter than the number of days in the solar year. Therefore, Julius Caesar and assisted by a Greek astronomer named Sosigenes corrected the error of the Roman calendar system at that time by making one year 365 days. Then the Gregorian calendar was born. This calender is the Gregorian calender or it can also be called the New Style Calender reformed from the Julius calender. The Gregorian calender is the most widely used calender in the western world and is the standard for calculating international days today although initially rejected by some countries. Keywords: Julius calender, Gregorian calender, Gregorian calender rejection.
