Abstract

Improving patient safety incident reporting is essential to strengthen safety culture and prevent adverse events in hospitals. We aimed to identify safety culture intervention strategies to improve patient safety incident reporting. This study was conducted using a systematic data search following the PRISMA method through PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases to identify interventional studies published between 2015 and 2025. The main keywords included “patient safety, interventions, training, program, incident reporting, adverse event reporting, error reporting.” The findings were identified and organized through thematic categorization based on the Self-Protective Behavior Framework. The most prevalent and promising approach is multifaceted intervention. Key strategies, including education and training, feedback mechanisms, management support, and technology integration, showed consistent positive results with improved reporting rates. Improving incident reporting effectively requires a multifaceted strategy. Education and training must be reinforced by continuous feedback, strong leadership, and streamlined technology to build a sustainable and non-punitive reporting culture.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus and hypertension are degenerative diseases with a high prevalence in the elderly population and commonly occur together as comorbidities, contributing to worsening metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. The coexistence of these diseases increases the risk of serious metabolic complications. Aerobic is a recommended non-pharmacological intervention because it helps control blood glucose levels, improves insulin sensitivity, and reduces blood pressure through mechanisms that enhance endothelial function and cardiorespiratory capacity. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between aerobic activity levels and the status of diabetes mellitus and hypertension in elderly individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the community. Method: An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. Result and Discussion: The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant association between aerobic activity and diabetes mellitus status (p = 0.001), indicating that lower aerobic levels were associated with higher glucose levels. Aerobic activity was also significantly associated with hypertension status (p < 0.001), showing that lower aerobic increased the likelihood of elevated blood pressure. Conclusions: Increasing aerobic activity is an important non-pharmacological strategy to manage metabolic and cardiovascular risks in older adults with diabetes, and should be integrated into structured community health programs.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that leads to sensory and motor impairments, reduced proprioception, and postural instability, increasing the risk of falls and functional limitations. Neuromuscular taping and balance training have been proposed as non-pharmacological interventions to improve postural function in this population. Objective: This literature review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the combination of neuromuscular taping and balance training on postural function in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Method: A literature review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses approach. Articles were identified from Publish or Perish and Google Scholar databases published between 2015 and 2025. Twelve eligible studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria and analyzed systematically. Result and Discussion: The reviewed studies demonstrated that balance training significantly improved static and dynamic balance, functional mobility, and reduced fall risk. Neuromuscular taping showed positive effects on balance, proprioception, and pain reduction. Studies combining neuromuscular taping with balance training reported more consistent and superior outcomes compared to single interventions, including improvements in postural stability and center of pressure parameters. Conclusion: The combination of neuromuscular taping and balance training is an effective and clinically applicable approach to improve postural function, reduce fall risk, and alleviate pain in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) and assess its impact on healthcare services. This systematic review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, along with a bibliometric analysis to develop research on electronic word-of-mouth and satisfaction with hospital services. Article searches were conducted in the PubMed and Lens databases for the years 2015–2024 using the SPICE strategy. Out of 443 articles found, n =112 met the criteria for further analysis. At the beginning of 2015, the publication trend was 6 documents, peaking in 2022 with 44 documents. Based on the VOSviewer analysis, the keyword “humans” appeared most frequently, 41 times, followed by “social media” 23 times. “Male” and “female” each appeared 19 times. The frequency of keyword occurrences in previous research is reflected in 34 articles published during the 2000–2019 period, while the effect size of e-WOM in hospitals shows that the Assurance dimension of SERVQUAL has the highest negative impact (58.3%), followed by Responsiveness (34.2%). The theoretical implication of this article is that e-WOM has a positive impact on satisfaction, image, service choice decisions, and patient loyalty, suggesting that hospitals should manage it effectively and adjust strategies based on patient demographics. The managerial implication is that hospitals need to leverage e-WOM to improve service quality and patient engagement by promoting positive experiences, implementing loyalty programs, pursuing continuous service improvement, using AI-based digital innovations, and analyzing social media to enhance communication and build a supportive patient community. In conclusion, these findings provide strategic insights for hospital managers on strengthening patient loyalty through e-WOM optimization.

Abstract

The rapid implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has transformed healthcare documentation but has also introduced new psychological challenges among nurses. This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between EMR implementation, technostress, and their impacts on nurses’ performance and service quality. Using the PRISMA approach, a systematic literature review was conducted through PubMed and Scopus databases, focusing on studies published between 2020 and 2024. Eight relevant articles met the inclusion criteria, encompassing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method designs. The synthesis revealed that EMR systems enhance documentation accuracy and patient safety but simultaneously increase administrative burden, workload, and digital complexity, leading to technostress symptoms such as fatigue, frustration, and decreased focus. These stressors contribute to reduced work efficiency, lower job satisfaction, and potential risks to patient care quality. The review also found that adequate training, organizational support, and user-friendly system design are critical to mitigating technostress and improving adaptation. This study highlights that digital transformation in healthcare requires balanced attention to both technological innovation and human well-being.
