Abstract

Improving patient safety incident reporting is essential to strengthen safety culture and prevent adverse events in hospitals. We aimed to identify safety culture intervention strategies to improve patient safety incident reporting. This study was conducted using a systematic data search following the PRISMA method through PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases to identify interventional studies published between 2015 and 2025. The main keywords included “patient safety, interventions, training, program, incident reporting, adverse event reporting, error reporting.” The findings were identified and organized through thematic categorization based on the Self-Protective Behavior Framework. The most prevalent and promising approach is multifaceted intervention. Key strategies, including education and training, feedback mechanisms, management support, and technology integration, showed consistent positive results with improved reporting rates. Improving incident reporting effectively requires a multifaceted strategy. Education and training must be reinforced by continuous feedback, strong leadership, and streamlined technology to build a sustainable and non-punitive reporting culture.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus and hypertension are degenerative diseases with a high prevalence in the elderly population and commonly occur together as comorbidities, contributing to worsening metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. The coexistence of these diseases increases the risk of serious metabolic complications. Aerobic is a recommended non-pharmacological intervention because it helps control blood glucose levels, improves insulin sensitivity, and reduces blood pressure through mechanisms that enhance endothelial function and cardiorespiratory capacity. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between aerobic activity levels and the status of diabetes mellitus and hypertension in elderly individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the community. Method: An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. Result and Discussion: The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant association between aerobic activity and diabetes mellitus status (p = 0.001), indicating that lower aerobic levels were associated with higher glucose levels. Aerobic activity was also significantly associated with hypertension status (p < 0.001), showing that lower aerobic increased the likelihood of elevated blood pressure. Conclusions: Increasing aerobic activity is an important non-pharmacological strategy to manage metabolic and cardiovascular risks in older adults with diabetes, and should be integrated into structured community health programs.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that leads to sensory and motor impairments, reduced proprioception, and postural instability, increasing the risk of falls and functional limitations. Neuromuscular taping and balance training have been proposed as non-pharmacological interventions to improve postural function in this population. Objective: This literature review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the combination of neuromuscular taping and balance training on postural function in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Method: A literature review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses approach. Articles were identified from Publish or Perish and Google Scholar databases published between 2015 and 2025. Twelve eligible studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria and analyzed systematically. Result and Discussion: The reviewed studies demonstrated that balance training significantly improved static and dynamic balance, functional mobility, and reduced fall risk. Neuromuscular taping showed positive effects on balance, proprioception, and pain reduction. Studies combining neuromuscular taping with balance training reported more consistent and superior outcomes compared to single interventions, including improvements in postural stability and center of pressure parameters. Conclusion: The combination of neuromuscular taping and balance training is an effective and clinically applicable approach to improve postural function, reduce fall risk, and alleviate pain in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
