Abstract

Alat ukur menggunakan DQOL (Diabetes Quality of Life) untuk kualitas hidup. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2, Kualitas Hidup, Terapi Progressive Muscle Relaxation ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus which can’t be cured completely often impact on the quality of life. Abstract

Kata Kunci: pengetahuan, kecerdasan emosi, sosial ekonomi dan dukungan keluarga, pasien skizofrenia ABSTRACT According to data from 33 Psychiatric Hospital in Indonesia of 2013, the mental disorder patients reach 2.5 millions where 40% experienced heavy mental disorder (Health Ministry, 2013). Abstract

The meaning of life is considered to affect breast cancer patients positively. Finding meaning in life is key to improving well-being during and after experiencing a traumatic event such as cancer. Previous research was still rare to explore the factors affecting the meaning of life in breast cancer patients. The study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the meaning of life of breast cancer patients.  This study was an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The inclusion criteria of the respondents were breast cancer patients who had obtained at least one cycle of chemotherapy. We used purposive sampling, and the total sample in this study was 135 respondents. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. Data were analysed by multivariate test, namely a linear regression test with a significance level of p ≤ 0,05. The result showed only two variables affect the meaning of life, communication of health workers and spirituality, respectively. The strongest variable was the communication of health workers.  The equation from the analysis showed that 11 % explained the phenomenon. The spirituality and communication of health workers positively affected the meaning of life. Application of therapeutic communication as well as spiritual support are needed in nurses to patients while undergoing therapy. Therefore, nurses must pay attention to spirituality and good therapeutic communication when providing patient services.

Abstract

Background: Degenerative diseases develop as organ function declines due to the natural aging process. The prevalence of these diseases reaches approximately 65.7%, with a significant increase observed in heart disease and stroke cases. Objective: This community service program aimed to increase public understanding of degenerative disease control through comprehensive prevention and management strategies. Method: The activity was conducted through educational sessions consisting of lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer segments. To assess participants’ understanding, a pre-test and post-test were administered, each comprising ten questions with a maximum score of ten per question. The average score was calculated to measure improvement. In addition, health checks were performed, including body weight, height, blood pressure, waist circumference, blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol measurements as part of early detection and control efforts. Results: There was a noticeable increase in knowledge regarding the prevention and management of degenerative diseases based on 74 participants’ post-test. Health screening results 11 participants have overweight, 15 particpants have hypertension, 5 participants have pre-diabetic, 7 participants have hypercholesterolemia, and 6 participants have hyperuricemia. Meanwhile, 5 participants were found to be underweight. Conclusion: Education on the control of degenerative diseases has a positive impact on maintaining public health. Preventive efforts remain essential to achieving a better quality of life.
