Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' computational thinking ability based on learning style and gender in basic mathematics courses. The research sample was students of the mathematics education study program, FKIP, Nias University in the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. This type of data analysis technique uses quantitative data analysis. The instruments used are learning style questionnaire and computational thinking ability test. The results showed that learning style and gender have a significant influence on the average score of students' computational ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dari observasi awal di UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Gunungsitoli dan diperoleh hasil bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih kurang dan kegiatan proses pembelajaran belum menggunakan video pembelajaran. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan video pembelajaran pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran matematika berbasis discovery learning yang valid, praktis dan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model addie yang meliputi lima tahap yakni: analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 4 kali pertemuan. Instrument dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi dan angket respon. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa komentar, saran dan kritik yang diberikan validator terhadap video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Sedangkan data kuantitatif berupa hasil angket dari validator, angket respon siswa dan guru serta tes hasil belajar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah teruji dan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi validitas materi (isi) sebesar 4,87, validitas Bahasa sebesar 4,88 dan validitas media (desain) sebesar 5,00. Selanjutnya, video pembelajaran juga sangat praktis digunakan oleh siswa dengan persentase kepraktisan sebesar 94,42% dan hasil persentase kepraktisan dari guru sebesar 95,24%. Video pembelajaran juga efektif meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 76 dan berada pada ketegori tinggi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi harapan atau tujuan penelitian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan peneliti di SMP Negeri 6 Lahewa, ditemukan masalah yaitu (1) pemilihan model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional dan (2) kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Assure terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 6 Lahewa Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Lahewa Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh populasi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Lahewa yang berjumlah 42 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Metode penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen design), dan instrument penelitian berbentuk tes uraian kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis satu pihak, diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 3,970 dan ttabel = tα(dk) = t(0,05)(20) = 1,724. Karena thitung = 3,970 > ttabel = 1,724, maka tolak H0 diterima Ha yang berarti “Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Assure terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa”. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Assure dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa.

Abstract

Learning represents a fundamental aspect of the educational process. The efficacy of the learning process is a key determinant of the extent to which educational objectives are achieved. Similarly, the quality of mathematical learning is a significant predictor of success in mathematics. The objective of this thesis is to examine the potential of managerial strategies to enhance the quality of mathematics learning. This research employs a qualitative methodology, specifically a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The data sources, or resource persons, were selected using the snowball technique. The data were validated through the triangulation technique. The results demonstrated that: (1) The management of improvements to the quality of mathematics learning is conducted in three stages: planning, implementation, and assessment. (2) Teachers employ various strategies to enhance mathematics learning outcomes, including the provision of structured assignments. (3) The effective management of learning outcomes is contingent upon three key supporting factors: parental involvement, access to learning resources, and the principal's leadership model. (4) Persistent challenges, such as the pervasive belief that mathematics is inherently challenging and student motivation, must also be addressed.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are a reference for educators to determine the success or failure of students in carrying out the learning process in class. This study aims to determine the factors that influence mathematics learning outcomes in the material of flat-sided geometric shapes at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Idanoi. The subjects of this study were class VIII students with 26 students. The instruments used in the study were a test of 5 questions and interviews. The data analysis method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method. Based on the data exposure, the researchers concluded that the average student learning achievement was 73.00. From the data on student learning outcomes test scores above, a standard deviation of 11.1 was obtained from 26 respondents. Students with moderate learning outcomes are 53.85%, with high learning outcomes are 26.92%, and students with very high learning outcomes are 3.85%, with a completeness percentage of 65.38%. Low learning outcomes can be seen from interviews with students that 69.23% of students need help understanding the material the teacher explains during the learning process. In addition, from the results of interviews with subject teachers, it was obtained that aspects that often affect student learning outcomes are internal aspects, including lack of student interest in learning, lack of ability to understand the material, lack of student memory, lack of student skills in arithmetic and aspects of External factors include the lack of attention and support from the family to return to the lessons given by the teacher at home.

Abstract

The objective of this article is to offer a general overview of how face-to-face learning can be utilized in the context of the new normal era and to identify potential learning models that teachers can employ in addressing educational challenges within this era. In the process of developing this article, a literature review method was employed. The data collection process included a comprehensive review of various references from national and international journals that are pertinent to the subject matter under discussion. Upon conducting thorough research, the author will then select, analyze, and present results in a systematic manner. The learning model represents a significant element within the context of learning. As an individual occupying a pivotal role in the learning process, the teacher is responsible for applying an optimal learning model to ensure the successful attainment of learning objectives. A selection of models that can be utilized for learning within the new normal era includes: Three learning models are worthy of mention: Blended Learning, Flipped Classroom, and Hybrid Learning. In applying any of the aforementioned models to the learning process, it is important to consider the specific characteristics of each learner and the abilities of the instructor.

Abstract

One of the problems in the mathematics learning process at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli is the low level of student engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. This research aims to evaluate the impact of implementing the Quantum Teaching approach in enhancing students' engagement and mathematics learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The research methodology used is an experimental approach with a quantitative method. The instruments used include observation sheets, learning engagement questionnaires, and algebraic function derivative materials tests. The research sample consists of students from classes XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 2, selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using hypothesis testing with the t-test. The research results show that in the hypothesis testing regarding learning engagement, both based on observation data (t calculated = 3.707, t table = 1.995) and data from questionnaires (t calculated = 3.300, t table = 1.995), there is a significant influence of the Quantum Teaching approach in improving the learning engagement of mathematics students at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. Furthermore, in the hypothesis testing regarding mathematics learning outcomes, a t-calculated value of 2.190 was obtained, which also exceeds the t-table value of 1.995, indicating that the Quantum Teaching approach has a significant impact on improving the mathematics learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli.

Abstract

Based on preliminary studies conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sirombu, it was found that students' mathematical critical thinking abilities are relatively low. The solution to this issue is to use booklet-based learning media in the teaching process. This research aims to develop a Contextual Teaching and Learning-based booklet learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. This study is a development research. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The instruments used in this research are validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and tests of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. Based on the research results, the developed booklet learning media has been validated by subject matter experts, language experts, and design experts, with an average validity percentage of 94.48%, indicating a very valid criterion. Furthermore, the booklet learning media is highly practical for students and teachers, with an average practicality percentage of 95.88%. The booklet learning media is also effective, with an average effectiveness percentage of 73%, indicating a moderate criterion.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the findings of previous studies regarding the effect of the discovery approach on students' computational thinking ability, taking into account gender aspects. Computational thinking ability is an essential skill in today's digital era, and the appropriate learning approach can help students develop neko77 this ability. The method used in this research is a literature study by analyzing relevant journal articles and research to identify emerging findings and patterns. The research results are expected to provide valuable insights for education practitioners in designing effective and inclusive learning strategies to improve students' computational thinking abilities, considering gender differences.

Abstract

Studi awal menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan matematis siswa berada pada kategori cukup; dan (2) aktivitas pembelajaran belum terintegrasi teknologi. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi ahli materi, angket validasi ahli bahasa, angket validasi ahli media, angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah teruji dan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi validitas materi, validitas bahasa dan validitas media. Selanjutnya, video pembelajaran juga sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Video pembelajaran yang dikembangan juga efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa terlihat dari nilai tes hasil belajar siswa. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi harapan atau tujuan penelitian.
