Abstract

This study aims to compare the results of translation from Indonesian to Arabic using three translation applications: Google Translate, Microsoft Translator, and DeepL Translator. This research is important to understand the performance of translation applications in handling languages with different structures and cultures. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data is in the form of an abstract of student research at the State University of Makassar. The analysis was carried out by comparing the translation results of the three applications based on several criteria, including meaning suitability, grammatical accuracy, and vocabulary richness. The results of the study showed that 26 errors were found in Google Translate, Microsoft Translator showed 24 errors, and in deepl translator the translator had made 24 errors. When comparing Google Translate, Microsoft, and deepl errors in three criteria, it can be concluded as follows: in the conformity of the meaning of Google Translate: 18 errors, Microsoft Translate: 17 errors, and deepl translator: 17 errors. In grammatical accuracy, Google Translate: 13 errors, Microsoft Translate: 11 errors, and Deepl Translator: 11 errors. And in the rich vocabulary of Google Translate: 10 errors, Microsoft Translator: 13 errors and deepl Translator: 13 errors. Errors in the conformity of meaning are most common in all translators, while errors in grammatical accuracy and vocabulary richness vary between them. This suggests that there are common challenges in translation applications related to understanding meaning and context, as well as grammatical accuracy and vocabulary selection.

Abstract

Abstrak. Fatkhul Ulum, Susiawati,  Ruhul Kudus, Pengembangan Bahan Ajar  al-Arabiyah Al-Asasiyah  di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab FBS UNM. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar al-‘Arabiyah Al-Asasiyah sebagai salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan penguasaan keterampilan berbahasa Arab bagi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab FBS UNM. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analisis, sedangkan jenis penelitiannya adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (RnD) dengan mengikuti model pengembangan 4-D Thiagarajan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab FBS UNM semester satu yang sedang memprogram mata kuliah al-‘Arabiyah al-Asasiyah. Intrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Instrumen Validasi Bahan Ajar, Perangkat Tes, Angket Respon Mahasiswa dan Catatan Peneliti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Bahan ajar al-‘Arabiyah al-Asasiyah yang dikembangkan menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa bahan ajar. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan tes yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa bahan ajar ini memiliki tingkat kevalidan 85,33% untuk materi dan 88,66% untuk pembelajaran. Sedangkan hasil uji coba prodak  memperlihatkan kepraktisan bahan ajar berada pada skor 81,74% atau praktis. Sedangkan keefektifan bahan ajar berada pada kategori sangat efektif dengan rerata 84,54., hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar al-‘Arabiyah al-Asasiyah efektif, valid, dan praktis untuk diajarkan kepada mahasiswa.Kata kunci: Pengembangan Bahan Ajar, Al-‘Arabiyah Al-Asasiyah, Pendidikan Bahasa Arab

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam memahami dan menerapkan kaidah Nahwu melalui pelatihan intensif selama 10 hari. Program ini dirancang untuk mengatasi kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menganalisis i’rab, mengenali jenis kata, serta memahami struktur kalimat dalam teks Arab, baik klasik maupun modern.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan partisipatif berbasis komunitas (Community-Based Participatory Research), yang melibatkan mahasiswa secara aktif dalam setiap tahap pembelajaran. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui kombinasi ceramah, diskusi kelompok, latihan soal, simulasi praktik, serta pendampingan individual. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur perkembangan kompetensi mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap kaidah Nahwu, memperkuat keterampilan analisis teks, serta meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mereka dalam membaca dan memahami teks berbahasa Arab. Dengan pendekatan yang interaktif dan terstruktur, program ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan dengan pengembangan materi yang lebih variatif serta pemanfaatan teknologi guna mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

The Qur'an is the last holy book for mankind and thereafter no more holy book will be revealed by Allah. Muslims should be proud of the holy book of the Qur'an because the Qur'an is the perfect guideline for life. Every Muslim family is obliged to instill the values contained in the Qur'an to be practiced in daily life, so that every Muslim family must be able to spend special time teaching the Qur'an to its family members, both teaching carried out by the family itself and learning carried out in Islamic educational institutions. Then the Qur'an has many privileges, one of which is that reading it is a form of worship. This has been confirmed in the Qur'an Surah Fathir verse 29. In addition, Allah made the Qur'an easy to memorize and understand, as in the Qur'an surah al-Qomar verse 17. The verse hints that learning the Qur'an is the primary obligation of every believer, as well as teaching it. Memorizing the Qur'an is a good effort in maintaining the purity of the great Qur'an. By rote memorization means putting on the heart of the memorizer. The reality that occurs in the Qur'anic huffazul is that errors in the recitation of the Qur'an are not only khafi errors but also jali errors. and those mistakes are due to the lack of quality recitation and understanding of tajweed and the law of recitation before starting the process of memorizing verses of the Qur'an. Abstract

Pronunciation errors in reading Arabic texts remain a significant challenge for students in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. These errors primarily involve difficulties in articulating specific Arabic letters, distinguishing between long and short vowels, and maintaining fluency while reading. Mispronunciations often lead to changes in meaning, which can hinder students' comprehension of texts, particularly in academic and religious contexts. To address these issues, this study aims to implement ath-thariqah as-shautiyyah as a phonetic-based teaching method to improve students' pronunciation accuracy in the Qiraah course. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of students struggling with pronunciation. The analysis process involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to identify pronunciation errors and measure improvements following the implementation of ath-thariqah as-shautiyyah. The findings reveal that the method significantly enhances students’ ability to pronounce challenging Arabic letters, differentiate between short and long vowels, and read texts with greater fluency. The structured approach, which includes listening exercises, imitation, and systematic repetition, plays a crucial role in fostering phonological awareness. Additionally, students demonstrated increased confidence in reading Arabic texts aloud, indicating that the method also positively impacts their overall learning experience. In conclusion, ath-thariqah as-shautiyyah proves to be an effective strategy for overcoming pronunciation difficulties in Arabic reading instruction. Given its success in improving phonetic accuracy, fluency, and confidence, this method should be widely adopted in Qiraah courses.

Abstract

This study aims to identify common weaknesses faced by university students in the Test of Arabic as a Foreign Language exam. The main focus is on Arabic comprehension skills in various aspects such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This study used descriptive analysis method with qualitative approach. Data were collected through students' TOAFL exam results, which were then analyzed to identify patterns of common weaknesses. This research also refers to various literatures and previous studies to strengthen the findings. The results showed that students experienced the greatest difficulties in the aspects of reading comprehension and proper vocabulary usage. Many students were unable to comprehend the text well and were often incorrect in their use of words. In addition, it was also found that students' writing and speaking skills still need to be improved, especially in terms of sentence structure and grammar. This study suggests the need for more effective teaching strategies to improve students' Arabic language skills. The recommendations include increased vocabulary practice, the use of more diverse texts in teaching, and an emphasis on a deeper understanding of grammar. Thus, it is expected that students' TOAFL exam results can improve significantly. Keywords: analysis, common weaknesses, TOAFL exam

Abstract

Penguasaan terhadap metode meta-analisis merupakan kebutuhan penting dalam dunia akademik, khususnya bagi dosen dan mahasiswa yang berkecimpung dalam penelitian berbasis sintesis bukti. Namun, keterbatasan pemahaman terhadap konsep dan teknis pelaksanaannya masih menjadi tantangan utama. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi analisis data meta-analisis melalui pelatihan daring menggunakan software Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) versi 3. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 8 Februari 2025 secara daring melalui Zoom dan diikuti oleh 54 peserta yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa. Rangkaian kegiatan meliputi pengantar konsep, praktik penggunaan software, interpretasi hasil, serta evaluasi pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam melakukan analisis meta-analisis. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis praktik digital mampu menjawab kebutuhan penguatan kapasitas riset sivitas akademika di era informasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the method of teaching speaking skills in the Al-Mumtaz book in daily dialogue for non-Arabic speakers. The reason for choosing this topic is to provide an overview and information about the al-mumtāz textbook and some of its advantages. This book is structured only on one language skill, namely speaking. This research is a descriptive qualitative analytical research, and the method of data collection is the method of observation and documentation on the topic, and the method of data analysis through content analysis contained in Al-Mumtaz's book in the Daily Dialogue for Non- Arabic speakers. The advantages of this book and its analysis are the first: listening to the dialogue. Listening is the beginning of speaking skills. Second: understanding the contents of the dialogue to find out how far they understand the dialogue text Third: simulation and repetition which is an audio-lingual method Fourth: Language skills training such as word form training, communicative language training and meaning training Fifth: The vocabulary and phrases used are words and expressions that are widely used in everyday life so that students have sufficient vocabulary in different situations in their lives. Sixth: teaching vocabulary with pictures, and this method makes it easier for beginners to learn language, because they understand the meaning of pictures, not from translation or from mother language.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the method of teaching the correct pronunciation skill of the Arabic language in the Arabic book in your hands. The reason for choosing this topic is to provide an overview and information about the Arabic book in your hands and some of its advantages. This research is descriptive and analytical research, and the method of data collection is the method of observation and documentation on the subject, and the method of data analysis is through the analysis of the content contained in the Arabic book in your hands. One of the advantages of this book and its analysis first: presenting phonetics before other skills. Second: Training students on minor binaries realizes that the phonetic system in Arabic is different from the phonetic system of his mother tongue, Third: Providing the student with the opportunity to repeat and imitate phonetic. Fourth: Exercises to recreate new vocabulary with sounds, Fifth: Exercises on reciting a set of Quranic verses The aim of this training is to be fluent in the pronunciation of Arabic sounds. Abstract

This research is a correlation study using a quantitative approach that aims to find the correlation between Mufrodat Mastery (Vocabulary) and Arabic Text Reading Ability of Students in Grade VIII of IT Al-Fikri Junior High School Makassar. The independent variable in this study is Mufrodat Mastery (Vocabulary), while the dependent variable is Arabic Text Reading Ability. The population in this study were all students of grade VIII of IT Junior High School Al-Fikri Makassar which amounted to 50 students and the sample in this study were students of grade VIII which amounted to 20 students. The research data were obtained by giving written tests in the form of Arabic vocabulary mastery tests and Arabic text comprehension reading ability tests. The data analysis technique is inferential statistical analysis of bivariate correlation type with the result of correlation coefficient 0.578 and significance value 0.008. The results of this study indicate that there is a moderate positive correlation between Mufrodat Mastery (Vocabulary) and Arabic Text Reading Ability. Thus it can be concluded that there is a correlation between Mufrodat Mastery (Vocabulary) and Arabic Text Reading Ability of 8th Grade Students of IT Al-Fikri Junior High School Makassar.
