Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating organic and non-organic waste sorting education with the Children Care for the Environment program in improving elementary school students' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior towards waste management. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving 200 students in grades IV, V, and VI from five public elementary schools. The educational program was implemented for four weeks through interactive lectures, visual media, simulations, and direct practice of waste sorting. The research instruments were a Likert scale questionnaire and a behavioral observation sheet that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed a significant increase in student knowledge, with an average score increasing from 41.7 to 78.9 (p < 0.001). Students' attitudes towards environmental awareness also increased significantly from an average score of 2.9 to 4.2 (p < 0.001). In addition, students' waste sorting behavior experienced a significant change, indicated by an increase in the percentage of students who were able to sort waste correctly from 23% to 72%. Correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between students' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. This finding indicates that integrating waste sorting education with the Children Caring for the Environment program is an effective environmental education strategy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of zero waste lifestyle education through social media on increasing knowledge, pro-environmental attitudes, and zero waste behavior adoption among Generation Z in elementary schools. The growing waste problem, especially in Indonesia, demands innovative solutions, and Generation Z, as digital natives, are identified as potential agents of change. The continuously increasing waste problem in Indonesia has severe impacts on the environment, health, and economy, exacerbated by suboptimal waste management practices and increasing waste generation due to urbanization and consumerism. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of zero waste lifestyle education via social media in enhancing knowledge, attitudes, and zero waste behavior among Generation Z students at SDN Ciputat.

Abstract

Stunting, kondisi gagal tumbuh kronis akibat malnutrisi, merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang signifikan di Indonesia dengan dampak serius pada perkembangan kognitif dan produktivitas di masa depan. Meskipun intervensi seringkali berfokus pada balita, prevalensi stunting pada anak usia sekolah dasar masih mengkhawatirkan dan kurang mendapatkan perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis determinan sosial dan lingkungan sekolah yang berkontribusi terhadap kejadian stunting pada anak usia sekolah dasar. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain studi cross-sectional, penelitian ini akan melibatkan pengukuran antropometri (tinggi badan, berat badan) dan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner terstruktur mengenai karakteristik sosio-demografi, status ekonomi keluarga, pendidikan orang tua, pola asuh, sanitasi rumah tangga, akses air bersih, serta program gizi dan fasilitas sanitasi di sekolah. Analisis data akan memanfaatkan regresi logistik untuk menguji hubungan multivariat antara faktor-faktor independen dan stunting, serta uji Chi-square/alternatif. Temuan yang diharapkan akan menguraikan pengaruh multifaset dari faktor sosial (seperti status sosial ekonomi, tingkat pendidikan orang tua, dukungan komunitas) dan lingkungan sekolah (seperti sanitasi, akses air bersih, pengetahuan gizi) terhadap stunting. Selain itu, penelitian ini akan membahas peran edukasi gizi dan kader kesehatan dalam mitigasi stunting serta implikasi jangka panjang kondisi ini. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman mendalam untuk pengembangan intervensi yang terarah dan holistik, yang disesuaikan dengan konteks lokal, guna mengurangi prevalensi stunting pada anak usia sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a serious challenge in Indonesia and significantly affects the long-term quality of human resources. Numerous studies indicate that stunting influences physical growth, cognitive development, academic achievement, and productivity in adulthood. Stunting prevention requires comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable efforts involving multiple sectors, including education. Elementary schools play a strategic role in shaping healthy behaviors, nutritional knowledge, and positive lifestyle habits from an early age through the implementation of healthy school programs. This article aims to examine the role of healthy schools in supporting the realization of a stunting-free golden generation starting from elementary education. The method employed is a literature review analyzing national and international journal articles, reports from global health organizations, and government policies related to stunting and school health. The findings indicate that the implementation of healthy school programs including nutrition education, clean and healthy lifestyle practices, regular physical activity, provision of healthy school environments, and collaboration among schools, families, and communities contributes significantly to stunting prevention. Therefore, healthy schools serve as a key foundation for developing a healthy, intelligent, and competitive future generation. In addition, the healthy school approach strengthens intersectoral collaboration between education, health services, and families in addressing nutritional problems among school-age children. Through systematic health promotion, routine monitoring, and the integration of nutrition education into learning activities, schools can function as early prevention settings that reinforce the outcomes of interventions implemented during the first 1,000 days of life

Abstract

Nutritional problems that occur in Indonesia, including stunting or malnutrition, are a major challenge that can affect the quality of life, especially in elementary school children. Stunting is a health problem that often occurs in children, which is characterized by characteristics such as height below standard (shorter than their age), weight below standard, weak body immunity, slow bone growth reflecting chronic malnutrition that occurs which has an impact on physical and cognitive development in children. These symptoms occur due to a lack of balanced nutritional fulfillment during pregnancy and after childbirth so that the fulfillment of nutritional adequacy is not enough so that breast milk given to children under 2 years old is very vulnerable to stunting.

Abstract

Stunting is a public health problem with long-term impacts on the quality of human resources, including the productivity of school-age children. In Serang City, stunting prevalence remains a concern despite a decreasing trend in recent years. This study aims to analyze the impact of stunting on the productivity of elementary school children in Serang City by utilizing stunting prevalence data from the Health Office and findings from national and international research published between 2020 and 2025. The research employed a descriptive method based on secondary data analysis and a systematic literature review. The results indicate that stunting negatively affects cognitive abilities, academic achievement, attendance rates, and learning participation among elementary school students. These findings demonstrate that stunting not only influences physical growth but also has direct implications for children’s learning productivity. Therefore, strengthening integrated interventions between the health and education sectors is essential to reduce the impact of stunting and improve the quality of human resources in Serang City. Keywords: stunting, learning productivity, elementary school children, Serang City Abstrak : Stunting merupakan permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat yang berdampak jangka panjang terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia, termasuk produktivitas anak usia sekolah. Di Kota Serang, prevalensi stunting masih menjadi perhatian meskipun menunjukkan tren penurunan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak stunting terhadap produktivitas anak sekolah dasar di Kota Serang dengan memanfaatkan data prevalensi stunting dari Dinas Kesehatan serta hasil penelitian nasional dan internasional periode 2020–2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan analisis data sekunder dan telaah pustaka sistematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stunting berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif, prestasi akademik, tingkat kehadiran, dan partisipasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa stunting tidak hanya berdampak pada aspek pertumbuhan fisik, tetapi juga berimplikasi langsung terhadap produktivitas belajar anak. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan intervensi terintegrasi antara sektor kesehatan dan pendidikan guna menurunkan dampak stunting dan meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Kota Serang. Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a major public health issue in Indonesia and poses serious long-term consequences for the quality of human resources. This condition results from prolonged inadequate nutritional intake, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life, leading to impaired physical growth and suboptimal brain development. The impact of stunting is not limited to short stature but also extends to delayed cognitive development, which directly affects academic achievement and learning capacity among elementary school children. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stunting, cognitive development, and academic achievement among elementary school students, as well as to examine its long-term implications for human resource quality. This research employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The study sample was randomly selected from elementary school children living in areas with a high prevalence of stunting. Data collection involved anthropometric measurements to determine stunting status based on World Health Organization (WHO) standards, standardized cognitive tests to assess children’s cognitive abilities, and academic records and questionnaires to evaluate learning achievement. The collected data were analyzed using inferential statistical methods, including correlation and regression analyses, to identify the relationship and influence of stunting on cognitive development and academic achievement. The results are expected to indicate that stunted children demonstrate lower cognitive performance and poorer academic achievement compared to their non-stunted peers. These findings highlight the critical importance of comprehensive nutritional interventions and early stimulation, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life, as strategic efforts to prevent stunting and to improve educational outcomes and the overall quality of human resources in the future. Abstract

Permasalahan sampah merupakan isu lingkungan yang semakin kompleks dan memerlukan keterlibatan aktif masyarakat untuk mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan. Salah satu bentuk pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas yang berkembang adalah bank sampah, khususnya yang diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan bank sampah di sekolah dasar serta kontribusinya dalam mewujudkan ekonomi berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus tunggal yang melibatkan satu responden kunci sebagai pengelola bank sampah sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi masyarakat tercermin dalam keterlibatan orang tua siswa dan masyarakat sekitar melalui partisipasi fisik, sosial, dan ekonomi. Partisipasi tersebut didorong oleh kesadaran lingkungan, manfaat ekonomi, serta dukungan kelembagaan sekolah, namun masih dihadapkan pada keterbatasan pemahaman, waktu, dan sarana pendukung. Bank sampah sekolah berperan sebagai media edukasi lingkungan dan sarana penerapan ekonomi sirkular sederhana yang mendukung terbentuknya perilaku ekonomi berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, partisipasi masyarakat menjadi faktor kunci dalam keberlanjutan pengelolaan bank sampah di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Stunting is a manifestation of chronic malnutrition that remains a major public health problem, particularly among school-aged children in developing countries, including Indonesia. In addition to inadequate nutritional intake, environmental factors such as poor sanitation, limited access to clean water, and unhealthy hygiene practices play a significant role in the occurrence of stunting. Schools, as a second environment after the family, have strategic potential to support stunting prevention through the implementation of a healthy school environment. This study aims to examine the role of a healthy school environment in preventing stunting among elementary school children. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving an intervention group and a control group. The study was conducted in two public elementary schools with a high prevalence of stunting. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements, questionnaires on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), and observations of school environmental health facilities. Data analysis used paired t-tests and independent t-tests to assess differences before and after the intervention. The findings indicate that the implementation of a healthy school environment program integrated with the School Health Unit (UKS) contributes positively to improving health behaviors and supporting optimal child growth. This study highlights the importance of cross-sector collaboration in strengthening sustainable school-based stunting prevention programs.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Think Talk Write (TTW) berbantuan video interaktif terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada konsep sifat-sifat magnet. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya pembedanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experiment One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas IV SD tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 21 siswa.  Media video interaktif dirancang oleh peneliti dengan isi materi mengenai konsep sifat-sifat magnet beserta contoh penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Proses pembelajaran dilakukan dengan tahapan berpikir (Think), berdiskusi (Talk), menulis (Write), serta mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest siswa sebesar 47,86 meningkat menjadi 77,62 pada posttest, dengan selisih peningkatan sebesar 29,76%. Uji normalitas data menunjukkan hasil berdistribusi normal, dan uji hipotesis paired sample t-test memperoleh nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) berbantuan video interaktif efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, karena mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif, berpikir kritis, serta pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap materi sifat-sifat magnet.
