Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of online game addiction has increased among adolescents in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between parent conflict and online game addiction among adolescents. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional, correlational design. The inclusion criteria in this study were as follows: (1) adolescents between the ages of 13-19 and who were male, and (2) adolescents who were willing to become respondents. Eighty adolescents were approached according to the inclusion criteria, and 73 respondents were eligible for this study. The data collection method used was a questionnaire filled out by adolescents. The questionnaire was adapted to adolescents and to determine adolescents' perceptions of interaction conflict. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman's rank test with α=0.05. Results: Parental interaction conflict was positively related to online game addiction among adolescents (p = 0.004). The majority of respondents who experienced online game addiction in the fair category had low interaction conflicts with their parents. Conclusions: Conflict of interaction with parents can cause adolescents to become addicted to online games. Parents are expected to engage in good interactions in accordance with the stages of adolescent development. Parents should be able to complete their problem interactions well.

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescents often have difficulty adjusting to their surroundings. Coping and family support are also associated with this adjustment. However, the relationship between the aforementioned factors and adjustment among adolescents with parents who work as migrant workers remains unclear. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between coping and family support with the adjustment of adolescents who have parents who work as migrant workers. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. A total of 70 early adolescents with parents working as migrant workers were recruited from the total sample. In this study, coping strategies and family social support were assigned as independent variables, while the dependent variable was the adjustment of adolescents who had parents as migrant workers. The questionnaire was used to measure the outcome of interest and tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis in this study used Spearman Rho. Spearman's Rho correlation with alpha, α set ≤ 0.05, was used to analyze the data. Results: The results indicate that Coping strategies (p = 0.018; r = 0.283) and family support (p = 0.001; r = 0.380) were associated with adolescent adjustment. Conclusions: Both coping strategies and family support contribute to the adjustment of adolescents whose parents work as migrant workers. There is a need to increase the priority of psychosocial counseling for adolescents who have parents working as migrant workers and educate their families to increase attention and support appropriate adolescent development.

Abstract

Introduction: The ability of mothers to supply adequate nutrition is closely linked to the nutritional support given to children aged 6-24 months who experience stunted growth. A mother's responsibilities can be fulfilled through her skills, confidence, and ability to perform tasks and ensure proper nutrition for children aged 6-24 months who are experiencing stunted growth. The objective of this research was to explore the connection between how mothers feed their children and the nutritional health of kids aged 6 to 24 months. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional correlation analysis utilizing height-for-age z-score tables from the World Health Organization alongside the Infant and Young Children Feeding Practice and Structure Questionnaire. A total of 76 participants were chosen through a cluster random sampling method from five district health centers in Malang Regency. The data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test. Results: The findings indicated a significant association between the mother's capability to meet the nutritional needs of children aged 6-24 months who are stunted (including breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunted therapy) and their nutritional status (measured by upper arm circumference and minimal weight gain), with a p-value of less than 0.05. Additionally, the mothers were responsible for implementing feeding practices. Conclusion: Maternal feeding practices are linked to the nutritional status of children aged 6–24 months who are stunted. This connection is evident in aspects such as breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, responsive feeding, and adherence to stunting therapy, which relate to nutritional indicators like minimal weight gain and upper arm circumference. However, other indicators did not show a correlation between breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, responsive feeding, and adherence to the nutritional status of stunted children, specifically regarding upper arm circumference. Keywords: feeding practice; maternal; nutritional status; stunted

Abstract

Background: Pediatric triage in Indonesia still faces challenges in the speed and accuracy of assessment due to the limitations of a standardized pediatric triage system. This situation demands the use of rapid, simple, and accurate initial assessment methods such as the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT). Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the pediatric assessment triangle (PAT) and the pediatric early warning score (PEWS) on the speed of assessment of pediatric patients in the emergency department (ED). Method: This systematic review sampled research articles related to the use of the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) in pediatric triage in the ED from Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, and PubMed databases. The variables examined included effectiveness (speed of assessment) and diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity and specificity). The research instrument used the PRISMA guidelines for study selection and the JBI Critical Appraisal Tools for quality assessment. Analysis was conducted through narrative synthesis and comparison of results between studies. Results: Six of the ten studies found that PAT can accelerate the triage process to just 13–15 seconds, with high accuracy (Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (AUROC) >0.96), sensitivity >90%, and specificity of up to 99%. Conclusion: Digital-based PAT adaptations, such as Android applications and e-health, have been shown to improve healthcare worker skills, accelerate response times, and expand access to implementation. However, PAT's effectiveness is influenced by training level, clinical experience, and variations in service facilities. Suggestion: Overall, the six articles found confirm that PAT is a fast, accurate, and adaptive initial triage method, making it worthy of recommendation in pediatric emergency department practice to improve service quality and pediatric patient safety.   Keywords: Assessment Speed; Diagnostic Accuracy; Emergency Department (ED); Pediatric Patients; Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT); Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS).

Abstract

Introduction. Nutritional problems among cancer patients represent a major clinical and public health challenge because of cancer progression and treatment. In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), limited healthcare infrastructure, delayed diagnosis, food insecurity, economic hardship, and inadequate nutritional support systems exacerbate the vulnerability of oncology patients. This study aimed to examine current evidence regarding nutritional issues, determinants of malnutrition, nutritional interventions, and barriers to nutritional care among cancer patients in developing countries. Method. This literature review from PubMed and SpringerLink focuses on malnutrition prevalence and oncology nutrition in LMICs. Emphasizing contemporary research from 2015 to 2026, the review includes both pediatric and adult oncology populations. Result&Analysis. The review highlights that malnutrition significantly influences treatment tolerance, quality of life, hospitalization, and survival outcomes. Evidence suggests that early nutritional screening, individualized dietary counseling, oral nutritional supplementation, and multidisciplinary oncology nutrition care can improve patient outcomes. However, implementation in developing countries remains constrained by insufficient resources, a lack of trained professionals, and limited integration of nutrition into oncology services. Discussion. Strengthening nutrition-focused cancer care policies and expanding evidence-based interventions are essential to improving cancer outcomes in resource-limited settings.
