Abstract

Introduction: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has a significant impact on health services and a major psychological challenge for nurses. The aimed of this review was to explore anxiety and coping mechanisms of nurses who provide care to COVID-19 patients.   Methods: Search strategies were developed for the Scopus, CINAHL, Lancet, Sage and ProQuest database. The data sources were limited to articles published from 2019-2020. MeSH terms were combined with Boolean operators and used to search the databases. The study quality of each article was determined based on the quality analysis of the JBI guidelines and the study evaluation used PRISMA checklist. Review process; the titles and abstracts of the identified articles, general and specific characteristics from eligible articles were extracted and the quality of included trials were appraised by using a risk of bias assessment tool. Results: The 25 articles provided data on 145 subjects that were randomly allocated to anxiety and coping. The results of this study are six studies (24%) showing the clinical manifestations of nurse anxiety, ten studies (40%) nurse coping mechanism, and nine studies (36%) causes of nurse anxiety. The results of the assessment of each study selected using the JBI Guidelines show that all studies score above 50%, which means it can be used as a reference for systematic review. Efforts to reduce anxiety can be done by implementing strict measures and protections to prevent contracting the COVID-19 virus. Conclusion: This review suggests that the nurse coping mechanism is formed through the guarantee of protection as a health worker that must be fulfilled properly. Hospitals and professional organizations have an important role in supporting this implementation.

Self-efficacy as the dependent variable and health coaching as the independent variable. The data were collected by means of a questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank sign test and the Mann Whitney U test with a significance level of ≤ 0.05. Results. The results showed the wilcoxon results for the treatment group p 0.008, the control group showed a p score of 1,000. Mann Whitney test showed a p score of 0.003. Conclusion. Health coaching is effective in increasing maternal self-efficacy in preventing malnutrition. The mechanism of change is by changing the Health inhibiting Thinking (HIT) in the mother to become Health enhancement Thinking (HET). Abstract

ntroduction: Neonates undergoing treatment often experience pain and painful procedures. Proper pain management needs to be done considering various cases in neonates with different pain experiences and causes. This study aimed to review the effect of non-pharmacological pain interventions on neonates. Methods: A systematic review was conducted to investigate the effect of non-pharmacology pain management in neonates. Studies were obtained from Proquest, Clinical Key for Nursing, Science Direct, and EBSCO databases. This study was limited to Randomized Control Trial studies published between 2015 and 2022, using subject headings and synonyms as keywords: neonate, neonatal, newborn, pain management, non-pharmacology pain management, and pain level. Next, JBI (Joanna Brings Institute) was used to evaluate journal quality, and thematic analysis was used as the data analysis method. Results: The search identified 659 relevant studies, and 19 studies have met the criteria. Nineteen articles show that various effective non-pharmacological pain management in premature and term infants are a sweet solution, skin stimulation, positioning, audio stimulation, and olfactory stimulation. Twelve journals discuss comparisons between interventions, and six journals discuss positions like facilitated tacking, hammock, swaddling, holding, and nesting. Five journals discuss combined pain management. Most of the journals (12 journals) discuss breastmilk odor stimulation and breastfeeding. The study also proved that multiple pain management was more effective than one type of intervention. Conclusion: The case-tailored practice of pain management in neonates and selecting the right combination of pain management will help reduce pain and increase comfort.

Abstract

Chemotherapy in chilhood cancer increases the toxic effects that impact the child's oral health. Appropriate oral care is the main intervention in children receiving chemotherapy. Oral care can reduce the colonization of oral cavity microorganisms, reduce pain, and prevent oral soft tissue infections that are at risk of becoming systemic infections. Children need parents to maintain oral health. This study aims to determine the oral care behavior of parents and the oral health profile of children who receive chemotherapy. The research design used a quantitative descriptive method. The sample in this study were parents and children with cancer who received chemotherapy. The results showed that the oral care behavior of most parents was in the less category, namely 76%. The oral health profile of children with cancer who received chemotherapy based on Oral Assessment Guide (OAG) was mostly in the unhealthy category, which was 52%. Nurses need to provide health education about oral health care to children and parents and provide written guidelines regarding appropriate oral care protocols. Future research is expected to be able to develop research on appropriate educational methods to improve parental behavior or oral care practices in children with cancer who are receiving chemotherapy.
