Abstract

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a major franchise in the Hollywood film industry that tells the story of various superheroes in one story continuity. The popularity of the MCU has skyrocketed in society for 14 years ago and has influenced the development of popular culture today. This paper aims to review the potential of the MCU as one of the big trends in the millennial era in the practice of cinema counseling. The review method used is a literature study, the author reviews various related literature to present a comprehensive discussion. The results of the review suggest that the MCU has great potential to be utilized in cinema counseling, especially for millennial children and teenagers. This is because in essence film is a medium that has been tested to be effectively used to shape, reconstruct, and change the mindset of individuals. In addition, the MCU as a group of superhero films also inserts various moral messages and life lessons that can be abstracted, and used as a metaphor by counselors in the practice of cinema counseling. However, more research is still needed regarding the use of MCU in cinema counseling to become a solid foundation for counselors to practice it.

Abstract

Reports on the evaluation of the most relevant themes on career adaptability through bibliometric analysis using the keyword “career adaptability” as its input aims to get a comprehensive view of current issues and trends in career adaptability research. The VOSviewer software in collaboration with Microsoft Excel and Open Refine was adopted as tool to visualize the network of authors, countries of origins and keywords in publication data mined on June 19 2022. The analysis found a total of 728 scientific publication from 1981 to 2022. The results show that in the last 15 years the number of career adaptability publications has grown very significantly. The United States is a major country contributing of publications. Author analysis presents Nota L as the most prolific author, while Savickas L is a prominent author while Guan Y is the writer with the best writing network with 8 other writers on career adaptability. Academic Press Inc. dominates the publication with 22.94% of it is production. Keyword analysis shows that career adaptability studies in the last two decades have focused on the theme of career planning through the establishment of a career guidance framework that aims to create prosperity.

Abstract

Android based learning applications are currently developing towards augmented reality (Expanded Reality or AR) innovation. In this research, researchers chose to use teaching materials through Augmented Reality applications to increase students' understanding of concepts through the use of augmented reality (AR) applications as teaching materials. Through an innovative work model utilizing the ADDIE model. Questionnaires were used for data collection. The population in this study were class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang, a sample of 30 students was taken. The assessment uses the Likert model for data analysis. The results of the media expert's judgment show that the TAMARinE application obtained an average score of 4.45 with a level of 89%, so it is included in the Very Eligible classification according to competency standards and the material expert's judgment obtained an average score of 3.71 with a level of 74%, which is included in the classification. Very suitable for competency standards or suitable for use. From the results of the initial and final trials given to students, the average pretest score was 59.3 and the posttest average score was 80.6. The increase in students' understanding of the learning media developed can be seen from the difference in pretest and posttest scores. The consequence of the sum test is 0.486 with the medium class indicating that the TAMARinE application is suitable for use.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using the STEM approach in learning direct electric circuits to achieve high school students' scientific and practical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental method. This study used two class groups, namely the experimental class and the control class, with the experimental class being the class group that received the STEM learning treatment. In contrast, the control class was the class group that only received the immediate learning model treatment. The research design uses a non-equivalent control group design. The research was carried out in the even semester of 2021-2022 and the place of this research was one of the schools in Serang City, Banten province. The sample consisted of two classes; one class was given the learning treatment with the STEM approach, which served as the experimental class, and the other class received no therapy and functioned as the control class. Each course has 40 students, including 20 male and 20 female students. The average age of students is 17 years. The instrument used in this study was in the form of 10 essay questions. This question covered electric current circuit material with indicators of scientific thinking ability and practice. The instrument used in this study was in the form of 10 essay questions. This question covered electric current circuit material with indicators of scientific thinking ability and practice. The data obtained after the research will be analyzed using N-Gain data analysis. The N-gain result in the experimental class was 0.67, while the control class was 0.46. The N-Gain results of the two types show the same category, namely the good category. However, the N-gain results from the experimental class show a value greater than 21% than the control class. These results prove that learning electric circuits using STEM is more effective than learning directly. The implications of this research are 1) It can foster an understanding of the relationship between the concept of electric circuits with practical skills in assembling electric current circuits, 2) Arouse students' curiosity and activate creative imagination and critical thinking, 3) Help students to understand and experiment with the scientific process.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the higher-order thinking skills of pre-service teachers through STEM-PjBL Model. The research method used was a quasi-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The N-Gain results mention the N-gain in both experimental and control classes that the physics learning process through the STEM-PjBL Model is 21% higher in improving higher-order thinking skills than Direct Learning. Improvement of students' ability to solve HOTS categorical questions in the experimental group taught by applying STEM-PjBL Model scored N-Gain 75% or 0.75, which increases the high category. In comparison, the control group led by applying the Direct Learning model achieved 54% or 0.54, meaning a moderate increase in categories. The results showed that learning using STEM-PjBL Model could improve higher-order thinking skills more than Direct Instruction Learning. The implications of this research include: gaining new knowledge that can be used as a pre-service teacher’, adding insight regarding STEM-PjBL Model that can be used to grow students' science process skills, assisting schools in improving the quality of students, and the quality of the physics learning process in schools.
