Abstract

Mothers of young children often experience parenting stress due to physical and emotional demands, lack of experience, and limited personal time. This condition can affect parenting processes and child development during the golden age. To understand how parenting self-efficacy (PSE) can reduce parenting stress through mindful parenting, an analysis was conducted involving 200 mothers with young children. Mindful parenting was measured using the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ), parenting stress with the Parental Stress Scale (PSS), and PSE with the Self-Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index (SEPTI). The results showed that PSE moderates the relationship between mindful parenting and parenting stress. The interaction coefficient of 0.0084 with a p-value of 0.024 indicates that higher PSE can strengthen the positive effects of mindful parenting in reducing parenting stress.

Abstract

Nomophobia is a form of discomfort, stress, or anxiety caused by the absence of a mobile phone or other virtualcommunication devices in individuals who frequently use smartphones. Nomophobia can be influenced by severalfactors, such as self esteem and loneliness. This study aims to examine the effect of self esteem on nomophobia, mediated by loneliness, in adolescents. A quantitative research method was employed in this study. The subjects were adolescents aged 13-18 years who are smartphone users, with a sample size of 513 respondents. The instruments used include the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q), The Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale (SLSC), and the University of California, Los Angeles Loneliness Scale Version 3 (UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3). The analysis technique utilized was mediation analysis using the PROCESS macro by Hayes. The findings of this study indicate that loneliness acts as a mediator in the relationship between self esteem and nomophobia in adolescents, with significance (β = -0.207). It was found that the indirect effect or mediating role accounts for only 29% of the total effect, thus only partially mediating the relationship.

Abstract

Children with Speech Sound Disorders (SSD) or a history of SSD are at risk of developing literacy problems later in life. However, there is limited research on SSD children at risk of literacy problems. This systematic review aimed to review 13 international articles on preschool-age SSD and its impact on literacy skills in middle childhood or adolescence. The results of this systematic review show that children who experience SSD in early childhood have poorer early literacy and literacy skills compared to typical children. Based on the literature review, it was found that the severity of speech sound disorder (SSD) does not have a significant correlation with literacy skills. Thus, it can be concluded that children with mild SSD are still at risk of future literacy problems.

Abstract

Inferiority feelings is a complex phenomenon arising from perceptions of deficiency, both real and imagined. This systematic review analyzes 14 international journals and finds that inferiority feeling is influenced by various internal, external, and demographic factors. Internal factors, such as physical disabilities, contingent self-esteem, and emotional intelligence, significantly contribute to individuals' perceptions of themselves. Meanwhile, external factors, including parenting styles and social exclusion, as well as demographic factors like parental education levels and socioeconomic conditions, also have a significant impact. These findings emphasize the need for a holistic approach in understanding and addressing inferiority feeling, which can serve as a guideline for designing effective interventions in both educational and family settings.

Abstract

Emotion regulation is the ability to manage, direct, and adapt emotional responses to various situations. Among adolescents in the digital era, this ability is increasingly vital due to high exposure to social media. This study aims to systematically review the literature on the role of emotion regulation in adolescents, focusing on social media use and its mental health implications. By analyzing peer-reviewed articles from databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, the findings indicate that poor emotion regulation increases the risk of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, particularly due to social comparison and cyberbullying. On the other hand, adaptive emotion regulation acts as a buffer against digital stress. The findings highlight the importance of emotional education and family involvement in promoting digital emotional resilience in adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of toxic relationships on mental health, self-esteem, academic performance, and interpersonal conflict through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Utilizing 14 empirical articles from databases such as Elsevier, Springer, and Scopus, the study identifies that toxic relationships trigger mental health disorders (35%), decreased self-esteem (24%), reduced academic performance (18%), and interpersonal conflict (24%). Factors such as emotional abuse, cultural norms, and social media exacerbate these impacts, particularly among adolescents and university students. Findings highlight the need for evidence-based interventions, such as solution-focused brief counseling, mindfulness, and communication education, to mitigate negative effects. This study provides an empirical foundation for developing culturally sensitive, community-based mental health programs to support psychological and social well-being.

Abstract

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a series of basic skills that aim to reduce the negative impact of stress and prevent the emergence of worse mental health disorders due to disasters or critical situations. PFA psychoeducation is expected to increase participants' knowledge and understanding of appropriate psychosocial responses to traumatic events and how to provide support to individuals facing difficulties. Peer support groups or peer support, as the first people asked to assist peers who experience a crisis incident at school, are considered to need to receive psychoeducation regarding PFA. PFA psychoeducation for peer support was given for 3 hours at school, then continued by measuring peer support's knowledge and understanding of the principles of psychosocial support using a questionnaire. 16 peer counsellors participated in psychoeducation activities, consisting of 8 men and 8 women. The results of post-tests, observations and interviews showed that participants were quite happy in participating in psychoeducational activities. Students know PFA services and understand the steps for providing PFA. Some research limitations and obstacles experienced by researchers can be of concern and become lessons for future researchers.
