Abstract

Solusi mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar yang tinggi, salah satu cara meningkatkan efesiensi bahan bakar yaitu mengurangi berat kendaraan dengan memodifikasi bodi dan chassis kendaraan. Bentuk dari efisiensi bodi dan chassis adalah penggunaan karbon sebagai pengganti logam dan baja. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kekuatan tekan karbon fiber dengan metode pembuatan manual hand lay up. Teknik pengujian dengan uji vertikal dan horizontal dengan tiga metode pelapisan serat karbon dengan posisi searah, berlawanan arah dan menyilang. Hasil kekuatan tertinggi pada uji tekan vertikal yaitu metode lapisan serat karbon berlawanan arah beban maksimum 12561,093 N, modulus elastisitas 4329 N/mm2 dan kekuatan tekan 113.43 N/mm2. Pada uji tekan horizontal yaitu metode lapisan serat karbon searah beban maksimum 1456.829 N, modulus elatisitas 438 N/mm2 dan kekuatan tekan 13.16 N/mm2. Jadi, untuk kekuatan bisa menggunakan metode pelapisan berlawanan arah, dan untuk kelenturan menggunakan metode pelapisan menyilang. Solution to reduce high fuel consumption, one way to increase fuel efficiency is to reduce vehicle weight by modifying the vehicle body and chassis. The form of body and chassis efficiency is the use of carbon as a substitute for metal and steel. The purpose of the study was to determine the compressive strength of carbon fiber with the manual hand lay up manufacturing method. Testing techniques with vertical and horizontal tests with three carbon fiber coating methods with unidirectional, countercurrent and crosswise positions. The highest strength results in the vertical compression test, namely the countercurrent carbon fiber coating method, maximum load 12561.093 N, elastic modulus 4329 N/mm2 and compressive strength 113.43 N/mm2. In the horizontal compression test, namely the unidirectional carbon fiber coating method, maximum load 1456.829 N, elastic modulus 438 N/mm2 and compressive strength 13.16 N/mm2. So, for strength, you can use the countercurrent coating method, and for flexibility, use the cross coating method.

Abstract

Sepeda motor matic injeksi telah menjadi pilihan populer di Indonesia, namun performa mesinnya dapat menurun seiring waktu, terutama pada kondisi sistem Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan roller tipe sliding dan modifikasi drive pulley terhadap daya dan torsi. Menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan objek Honda Beat FI 2016, hasil menunjukkan roller tipe sliding dengan drive pulley standar menghasilkan performa terbaik, dengan rerata daya 5,04 kW dan torsi 7,06 Nm. Kombinasi roller tipe sliding dengan drive pulley modifikasi menunjukkan puncak daya 5,95 kW dan torsi 9,43 Nm, meskipun rerata terendah. Disimpulkan modifikasi sistem CVT dapat meningkatkan performa, namun memerlukan optimasi cermat untuk menyeimbangkan performa puncak dan konsistensi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pengembangan sistem CVT pada sepeda motor matic injeksi. Fuel-injected automatic motorcycles have become a popular choice in Indonesia, but their engine performance can decline over time, mainly due to the condition of the Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) system. This study aims to analyze the effect of using sliding-type rollers and modifying the drive pulley on power and torque in fuel-injected automatic motorcycles. Using an experimental method with the Honda Beat FI 2016 as the research object, the results show that sliding-type rollers with a standard drive pulley produced the best overall performance, with an average power of 5.04 kW and an average torque of 7.06 Nm. The combination of sliding-type rollers with a modified drive pulley showed a peak power of 5.95 kW and a peak torque of 9.43 Nm, although with the lowest average. It was concluded that modifications to the CVT system can improve engine performance, but require careful optimization to balance peak performance and consistency. This research provides valuable insights for the development of the CVT system in fuel-injected automatic motorcycles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide assistance to students in understanding the material presented by the teacher during the period during course. The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The population group studied were students taking the Automotive Simulation and computing course in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, who were enrolled in the Automotive Engineering Education study program at the Faculty of Engineering, UNP. The results of the study show that the use of video media in the form of course via YouTube makes a positive contribution to the course process and understanding of the material for students. The responses from students to the use of video as a course tool for Simulation and Computing showed that 85.66% of them responded well, while 14.34% responded at a poor level. The results of the study show that 50.8% of students have a "good" rating, 8.73% get an "very good" assessment, and 40.47% are in the "enough" category.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi otomotif merupakan salah satu yang paling pesat di Indonesia. Dari meningkatkan kendaraan dan inovasi terbaru hingga menyempurnakan produk yang sudah ada. Sehingga banyak produk yang membuat kendaraan semakin diminati oleh konsumen. Hal ini dapat memberikan kendaraan terbaik bagi konsumen. Berdasarkan observasi yang telah peneliti lakukan di beberapa bengkel yang ada di kota Padang. Dari pendapat beberapa mekanik bahwa untuk performa mesin yang tinggi, Anda bisa memodifikasi komponen atau mesin tersebut. Masyarakat beranggapan dengan mengganti camshaft dapat meningkatkan torsi dan tenaga, yang kondisi tersebut belum dibuktikan dengan menggunakan alat uji standar. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggantian camshaft untuk perhitungan ekonomi bahan bakar dan emisi rendah. Sehingga dapat digunakan untuk setiap hari. Sehingga peneliti memfokuskan pada penggantian variasi camshaft dengan perubahan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh perubahan camshaft terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik. Didapat hasil bahwa  pada putaran mesin 1750 rpm. Pada putaran mesin 1750 rpm konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik camshaft standard lebih besar yaitu sebesar 0,165 kg/kWh, dibandingkan camshaft racing 0,092 kg/kWh, pada putaran mesin 2500 rpm konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik camshaft standard menurun drastis menjadi 0,062 kg/kWh, dan camshaft racing menjadi 0,070 kg/kWh, pada putaran mesin 4500 rpm terjadi peningkatan pada camshaft racing yaitu sebesar 0,091 kg/kWh, Terakhir pada putaran mesin 6500 rpm camshaft racing memiliki konsumsi bahan bakar  spesifik yang lebih besar 0,186 kg/kWh, dan camshaft standard menjadi 0,135 kg /kWh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada camshaft standard emisi gas buang  CO 0,03% dan HC 27 ppm. Pada camshaft racing emisi gas buang  CO 0,13% dan HC 236 ppm

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low work readiness achieved by students who graduated from SMK. The purpose of this study was to determine the work readiness of students of SMKN 1 Batipuh Tanah Datar Regency in terms of the role of guidance in providing career guidance at school. This type of research with a descriptive correlational approach aims to describe and interpret data about the influence of the role of guidance teachers on students' work readiness in the career guidance process at SMKN 1 Batipuh. The research subjects were class XI students of all fields of expertise registered in semester 1 of the 2022/2023 school year at SMKN 1 Batipuh, totalling 52 students. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics with percentage calculations and simple regression. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive influence between the role of career guidance teachers on the work readiness of students of SMKN 1 Batipuh. The results shown by the value of rxy = 0.568 compared to the interpretation table r, the level of relationship is moderate. Significance obtained titung = 4.816. The test criteria used are tcount> ttable then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted based on the t-distribution table for degrees of freedom (dk = n-2) 33, obtained ttable = (α = 0.05) = 1.697. Thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so the hypothesis states "There is a positive influence between the role of career guidance and counselling on the work readiness of Class XI students of all study programs at SMKN 1 Batipuh in the 2022/2023 academic year". The role of career guidance and counselling has an influence of 32.26% on the work readiness of students of SMKN 1 Batipuh and 67.74% of students' work readiness is influenced by other factors such as motivation, skills and others that exist in the student's social life environment.

Abstract

Meningkatnya populasi kendaraan bermotor di Indonesia secara otomatis juga membutuhkan stok bahan bakar bertambah setiap tahun, hal ini akan membuat persediaan bahan bakar menipis dan harga bahan bakar yang meningkat naik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan turbo elektrik pada mesin sepeda motor Honda Supra X 125 FI 2017. Penambahan turbo elektrik ini bertujuan agar udara yang masuk ke dalam intake manifold menjadi lebih banyak daripada kondisi standarnya. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen, metode yang digunakan untuk menguji suatu perlakuan atau desain baru dengan cara membandingkan sebelum perlakuan dan sesudah perlakuan sebagai pengontrolnya.Pengaruh penambahan turbo elektrik terhadap kondisi standar terdapat peningkatan torsi rata-rata 6,06% dan peningkatan daya rata-rata 6,06%, penurunan konsumsi bahan bakar rata-rata 8,11%, penurunan emisi gas buang CO rata-rata 29,6% dan HC rata-rata 17,5%, dan juga terjadi peningkatan laju aliran udara dalam intake manifold rata-rata 7,6%. The increasing population of motor vehicles in Indonesia automatically also requires an increase in fuel stocks every year, which will make fuel supplies thin and fuel pricesrise. The addition of electric turbo on injection motorcycles can affect the motorcycle engine demonstration. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of electric turbo on the motorcycle engine of the Honda Supra X 125 FI 2017. The addition of this electric turboprop is aimed at ensuring that the air entering the manifold intake is more than its standard conditions. The effect of adding the electrical turbo to the standard conditions is an increase in average torque of 6,06% and an improvement in average power of 6,06%, a reduction in average fuel consumption of 8,11%, a decrease in average CO exhaust gas emissions of 29,6% and HC of an average of 17.5%, and also a increase in the air flow rate in the average manifold Intake of 7.6%.

Abstract

Currently, an influential factor contributing to thermal comfort home design is the incorporation of energy-efficient passive design principles. It is exemplified by strategic window placement, the utilization of thermally efficient materials, and effective insulation. It exerts a substantial influence on thermal comfort and electrical consumption. This paper examines the effect of building shape and window-to-wall ratio (WWR) on thermal comfort and lighting energy consumption in residential houses in tropical climates. The lighting electricity and the adaptive thermal discomfort hours of 30 different models of houses were obtained using OpenStudio and EnergyPlus simulation software. The models were developed for three building shapes (square, rectangle, and L-shaped), and each model was varied in five models of window-to-wall ratios. Results indicate that the square-shaped model with a WWR of 10% will provide the lowest energy consumption in thermal comfort had 420.45 kWh/m2. On the other side, the lowest energy consumption in lighting is the square-shaped model with a WWR of 50% had 507.95 kWh/m2. Thus, the recommendation is to use the square-shaped house that represents the most efficient air conditioning system while the other WWR set also produce the most natural luminaire. It is because the percentage of WWR increased will result in more energy consumption in air cooling but slightly lower energy consumption in lighting. However, when considering aesthetics and freshness, the WWR of the 50% model will offer a better deal.

Abstract

Turbo Cyclone Electric memiliki sistem kendali yang kurang efisien pada aktifasi sistem tidak otomatis dan kurangnya kecepatan putaran Turbo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengaktifkan sistem secara otomatis dan meningkatkan putaran Turbo. Jenis metode yaitu metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dalam bidang otomotif. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dengan memodifikasi sistem kendali pada Turbo Cyclone Electric yaitu, sistem dapat aktif secara otomatis saat kunci kontak on dan meningkatkan tegangan maksimal yang masuk ke sistem sebesar 4,7V. Sebelum dimodifikasi tegangan maksimal dari Throttle Position Sensor sebesar 2,8V, setelah dimodifikasi menggunakan menggunakan Electric Throttle Conversion Kit yang disesuaikan bukaan pedal gas menghasilkan tegangan maksimal sebesar 7,5V sehinga putaran pada Turbo lebih efisien. Turbo Cyclone Electric has a control system that is less efficient due to non-automatic activation of the system and a lack of Turbo rotation speed. The aim of this research is to activate the system automatically and increase Turbo rotation. The type of method is the research and development method in the automotive sector. The results of research that has been carried out by modifying the control system on the Turbo Cyclone Electric are that the system can activate automatically when the ignition key is on and increase the maximum voltage entering the system by 4.7V. Before being modified, the maximum voltage from the Throttle Position Sensor was 2.8V, after being modified using a menggunakan Electric Throttle Conversion Kit that adjusted the opening of the gas pedal, it produced a maximum voltage of 7.5V so that the Turbo rotation was more efficient.

Abstract

Material komposit peguat carbon fiber merupakan material penganti logam dan baja menjadi body part carbon fiber yang dapat mereduksi berat kendaraan supaya meningkatkan efesiensi bahan bakar. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kekuatan bending komposit carbon fiber dengan hasil metode pembuatan vacuum infusion dan manual hand lay-up. Teknik pengujian dengan three point bending. Hasil penelitian dari metode vacuum infusion menghasilkan spesimen dengan kekuatan maksimum 11.460 N, modulus elastisitas 803.185 N/mm dan bending strength 23.581 N/mm. Metode manual hand lay-up menghasilkan kekuatan maksimum 19.442 N, modulus elastisitas 1128.394 N/mm dan bending strength 23.806 N/mm. Jika mementingkan kekuatan dan ekonomis disarankan menggunakan metode manual hand lay-up, kelenturan dan keringanan disarankan metode vacuum infusion. Carbon fiber-reinforced composite material is an alternative to metal and steel for vehicle body parts, designed to reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the bending strength of carbon fiber composites produced using vacuum infusion and manual hand lay-up methods. The testing technique used was three-point bending. The results show that the vacuum infusion method produced specimens with a maximum strength of 11,460 N, an elasticity modulus of 803.185 N/mm, and a bending strength of 23.581 N/mm. The manual hand lay-up method produced a maximum strength of 19,442 N, an elasticity modulus of 1,128.394 N/mm, and a bending strength of 23.806 N/mm. If prioritizing strength and cost-effectiveness, the manual hand lay-up method is recommended. For flexibility and lighter weight, the vacuum infusion method is preferable.

Abstract

Developing a QR Code-assisted simulator for Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems aims to enhance teachers' and students' understanding of EFI technology in automotive education. EFI is a technology that electronically regulates vehicle fuel supply based on data collected from engine sensors. In practice, learning about EFI often requires expensive and hard-to-access physical equipment. Therefore, the QR Code-based simulator was developed as an innovative solution. This simulator enables students and teachers to access interactive content about the components and workings of the EFI system by scanning QR Codes linked to digital simulations. This approach makes the learning process more practical, interactive, and accessible. Research findings indicate that using this simulator significantly improves students' understanding of EFI concepts. Teachers also benefit from this tool, making teaching materials more engaging and comprehensible. This technology addresses the limitations of practical equipment, giving students a better opportunity to deeply understand EFI systems without relying on costly physical devices.
