Abstract

The limited face-to-face learning (PTMT policy implemented by the Indonesian government during the COVID-19 pandemic has received two forms of resistance: closed (practiced by teachers, parents, and students) and open (practiced by teachers). This resistance has made it difficult to resume face-to-face learning. As such, this article seeks to illustrate the public's resistance to the PTMT policy and analyze the implications of this resistance. This article relies on data collected from online media as well as interviews with representatives of diverse elements of society. It shows that resistance has been rooted in several factors: familiarity with online learning, concern that health protocols would not be optimally implemented; and economic concerns. This article recommends conducting further research to obtain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the public's resistance to PTMT.

Abstract

This article explores religion as a fundamental human need that transcends formal belief systems, encompassing philosophical, psychological, sociological, and transcendental dimensions. Employing a qualitative and analytical literature-based approach, the study examines primary and secondary sources relevant to the nature and role of religion in human life. The findings reveal that philosophically, religion provides meaning and moral direction beyond rational comprehension; psychologically, it fosters emotional balance and inner peace; sociologically, it strengthens social solidarity and interpersonal harmony; and transcendently, it connects human beings to God as the ultimate source of value and purpose. In the modern era, characterized by secularism and moral uncertainty, religion remains profoundly relevant as an ethical and spiritual compass guiding humanity toward existential balance and sustainable human flourishing.

Abstract

In the digital era, TikTok has become a significant medium for Indonesian Muslim women to express their identities and advocate for gender equality through content that challenges stereotypes and builds supportive communities. This study aims to analyze how Muslim women utilize TikTok as a form of da’wah and self-empowerment while facing the challenges of cyberbullying and moral criticism. Using a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, data were collected from relevant academic studies, social media analyses, and documentation of user experiences. The findings reveal that Muslim women dynamically represent their religious identity by integrating Islamic values with progressive and modern expressions, showing that faith and modernity can coexist harmoniously. Through educational, inspirational, and community-based content, they promote gender equality, financial literacy, and inclusive dialogue about women’s roles in religion and society. Despite these positive contributions, they still encounter serious challenges such as online harassment, gender-based discrimination, and digital violence. The study concludes that resilience, community solidarity, and the implementation of digital literacy and protection strategies are crucial for ensuring a safe and empowering online space for Muslim women and other marginalized groups.
