Abstract

Lambadeuk Village in Aceh Province is known for Trigona bees, which produce honey and propolis, a valuable by-product often discarded due to limited knowledge and skills for its utilization. This study evaluates the impact of soap-making workshop on community knowledge, behavior, and empowerment, employing Participatory Action Research (PAR). The program engaged 27 participants, primarily housewives and farmers, in theoretical and practical training on soap production using propolis. Pretest and posttest evaluations revealed significant improvements in participants' knowledge of soap-making processes and ingredient roles, with knowledge levels shifting from low to high. However, confidence for independent production remained modest, indicating the need for continued mentorship. By transforming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This program demonstrates the potential of targeted empowerment efforts to enhance community skills, reduce waste, and foster sustainable development through innovative resource utilization.

Abstract

The security and safety of the public and the drivers of users of railway crossings and also the security of train travel, it is necessary to hold socialization to the community. Socialization is carried out to displace people who often violate regulations, which can put the safety and security of train trips and also motorists at risk. People who pass by must obey the regulations that have been made. Because if you violate it, in addition to being subject to sanctions, it can also endanger motorists or road users who pass by and also endanger train travel and passengers who use the train service. Most of the people around the Bekasi Station crossing are still not disciplined, both in personal safety on the crossing route and discipline in implementing health protocols. Evidenced by data that shows that the number of violations is relatively high. Preventive and persuasive measures are carried out so that the public is easier to receive the information submitted, but if the level of discipline of the community and road user motorists at the railway crossing is still low, it is necessary to take strict action taken by the relevant agencies in order to maintain public security and safety and smooth travel of the train. It is hoped that from the socialization that has been carried out, the community can be more aware of the importance of obeying the applicable regulations in the direction and also the regulations around the crossing of a plot. In order to maintain safety in driving and the safety of train travel.

Abstract

The increasing traffic congestion has driven the development of the Solo–Yogyakarta–Yogyakarta International Airport toll road project, which involves drilling bore piles using heavy excavators. This study aims to evaluate excavator productivity by analyzing the percentage of value-added activities (VAA) and non-value-added activities (NVAA), using the Manufacturing Cycle Effectiveness (MCE) method combined with the 5W + 1H approach. The novelty of this research lies in integrating MCE and the 5W + 1H framework for analyzing construction equipment, providing a structured framework to identify the root causes of productivity losses beyond conventional time–motion studies. The results from three case samples reveal that NVAA dominates VAA, with idle time being the primary factor that reduces productivity. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing interteam coordination, optimizing work sequencing, and minimizing standby periods to improve excavator efficiency in bore pile operations. Practically, the proposed analysis provides construction managers with actionable insights to minimize inefficiencies, reduce project costs, and improve scheduling reliability. However, the study is limited by its focus on a single project location and three observation samples, which may restrict generalizability. Future research should extend the method to larger datasets and diverse project settings to strengthen its applicability

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the impact of differences in passenger volume between weekdays and weekends on the operational patterns of the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT). The research aims to understand how fluctuations in passenger numbers influence service scheduling and resource allocation for urban mass transportation efficiency. Research Methodology: A quantitative approach was employed using descriptive analysis and non-parametric statistical testing to evaluate passenger volume data. The analysis focused on the period from November 2024 to April 2025. The Mann-Whitney U test was applied to compare weekday and weekend passenger volumes, which were found to fluctuate significantly—exceeding 50% differences between the two periods. Results: Statistical calculations revealed that the Mann-Whitney U test value was 0.000 (assumed 0.0001) with a Z-score of -11.221, and the significance value (Asymp. Sig 2-tailed) was also 0.000 (<0.05). These results indicate that the difference in passenger volume between weekdays and weekends is statistically significant. Conclusions: The findings highlight that the LRT Jabodebek operation pattern must differentiate between weekday, weekend, and special event (e.g., New Year’s Eve, national football matches) schedules to align with fluctuating passenger volumes. Limitations: The research was limited to six months of passenger data, which may not capture annual seasonal variations or special public holidays. Contribution: This study contributes to the understanding of how passenger volume fluctuations influence operational patterns in urban mass transport systems. It offers practical recommendations for operators to design adaptive and cost-efficient service schedules that enhance service quality and passenger satisfaction.
