Real-Time Phishing Detection Using Google Safe Browsing API and Machine Learning Zumhur Alamin; Ritzkal

Abstract

Phishing remains one of the fastest-evolving cybersecurity threats, where attackers mimic legitimate websites to obtain sensitive user information. This study presents a real-time evaluation of a phishing detection system integrating the Google Safe Browsing API with ensemble machine learning models. The research aims to enhance detection accuracy and responsiveness against emerging phishing websites by combining real-time threat intelligence with automated URL analysis. The dataset used comprises over 20,000 URLs collected from Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank, and OpenPhish between June and December 2024. Four approaches were evaluated: (1) machine learning models without API, (2) API-only detection, (3) machine learning with API as an additional feature, and (4) machine learning with API as a validator. The best performance was achieved by the API-as-validator model, reaching 98.2% accuracy, reducing false positives to 2.1%, and lowering false negatives to 3.2%, with an average latency of 108 ms. These findings demonstrate that integrating real-time threat feeds significantly enhances adaptability and reliability in phishing detection. Future research will focus on latency optimization and federated learning to enable large-scale collaborative detection systems.

Abstract

Text classification of academic documents, particularly thesis titles, poses challenges due to high dimensionality, sparsity, and topic heterogeneity. Conventional feature selection techniques, such as the standard Chi-Square, often fall short in capturing discriminative features effectively. This research aims to enhance classification accuracy by proposing a Modified Chi-Square feature selection method that integrates term frequency and class distribution information. The selected features are then classified using ensemble decision tree algorithms, including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost. Experiments were conducted on a labeled dataset of thesis titles using TF-IDF for vector representation. Evaluation metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC were used to assess model performance. The results showed that the combination of Modified Chi-Square and XGBoost outperformed other models, achieving the highest accuracy of 93.8% and an AUC of 0.94. These findings demonstrate that the integration of advanced feature selection and ensemble learning techniques can significantly improve academic text classification performance, providing valuable implications for the development of intelligent digital repositories and recommendation systems.

Abstract

Serangan DOS (Denial of Service) bertujuan untuk menguras sumber daya server hingga server tidak mampu menjalankan fungsinya sebagai penyedia akses layanannya, seperti membanjiri server dengan berbagai kombinasi password untuk mengetahui password sebenarnya untuk server perusahaan yang ditargetkan. Berdasarkan informasi tersebut, peneliti merekomendasikan agar program fail2ban dievaluasi. Program ini akan beroperasi pada server yang akan memantau aktivitas luar yang tidak biasa sebelum memblokir alamat IP asal. Penelitian ini mencoba melindungi server dari penyusup jahat dengan menerapkan program fail2ban dan pendekatan dasar memindai dan memblokir alamat IP penyerang.

Abstract

Penggunaan kunci pintu konvensional di ASPIKA sebagai alat bantu untuk mengakses ruangan dinilai memiliki tingkat keamanan yang rendah karena anak kunci dapat diduplikat oleh siapapun sehingga orang yang tidak memiliki hak akses atas pintu tersebut juga dapat mengakses pintu. Selain itu penggunaan pintu konvensional juga tidak dapat memantau waktu akses pintu sehingga penghuni dapat mengakses pintu kapanpun melewati batas waktu yang telah ditetapkan oleh pengurus ASPIKA yaitu jam 9 malam. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada maka dibuatlah sebuah alat sistem otomatisasi dengan memanfaatkan RFID sebagai pengganti anak kunci dan electromagnetic doorlock sebagai pengunci pintu otomatis. Pada penelitian ini juga dibangun sebuah website untuk memonitoring aktivitas akses pintu di ASPIKA. Adapun tahapan penelitian yang digunakan dalam peelitian ini adalah pendekatan, pengembangan, implementasi dan pengujian. Hasil pengujian meliputi pengujian fungsi RFID, pengujian fungsi electromagnetic doorlock, pengujian fungsi LCD i2c, pengujian fungsi push button dan pengujian website. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah pintu dapat terbuka secara otomatis dengan mendekatkan RFID tag ke RFID reader. Hasil pemantauan waktu akses pintu dapat diakses pada website yang telah dibangun.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the wireless signal quality of an access point (AP) with a focus on the types of obstacles that could potentially affect network performance. The use of wireless technology has become essential in sustaining modern civilization, especially in environments with various types of machines such as walls, electronic devices, and electromagnetic machines. The analysis method involves measuring and adjusting the signal quality at several points that indicate conditions that could be affected by the use of non-reversible mesh. The signal strength, transmission speed, and connection handling at each observation point were analyzed. Finally, the analysis results were used to identify the type of wireless signal work and the impact of different types of obstacles. The results of this study provide insight into how certain types of obstacles can affect wireless signal quality at access points. These findings can aid in the development of strategies to improve and enhance wireless network performance, including recommendations for optimizing access point placement or using interference mitigation technologies.
