Abstract

Shoes are general footwear that can be used when exercising, working, formal events, or just to sweeten your appearance. Shoes used for sports have a slightly different shape from shoes in general, in terms of covering the left and right sides, the base, and the design, but most shoes do not have a device to count the steps taken. To overcome this, researchers have created a tool in shoes that can count the user's footsteps while exercising. A step counter on shoes based on the internet of things uses NodeMCU and an IR sensor which functions to detect every step of the shoe wearer. The result of the detected step count will be displayed in the blynk application. NodeMCU and IR sensors will be connected to the Blynk application using the internet network. When the step counter on the shoe and the hotspot are turned on, the results of the foot count will appear on the Blynk application on the smartphone. Footstep data detected by the IR sensor corresponds to the number of steps counted manually. The test results from a 150-meter step counter, obtained results of 207 steps in 3 minutes when walking casually, 223 steps in 1 minute 30 seconds when walking fast, and 264 steps when running in a period of 1 minute 15 seconds.

Abstract

The large number of family activities carried out outside the home makes them always feel worried and anxious about the activities carried out by the elderly at home. This will be a problem when the elderly carer has important activities outside the home and has to leave the elderly person alone. If an elderly person falls, the sensor will detect the pressure of the fall and reduced balance in the elderly wheelchair. Then the MPU6050 sensor will send input to the nodemcu which controls the entire circuit for processing by sending a signal to the Blynk application as an output processor with a notification in the form of a short message that the elderly person has fallen, from the wheelchair which is displayed on the user's cellphone which has the blynk application installed. With this tool, it is easier for elderly caretakers to know the condition of elderly people when they are in a wheelchair, and it is also quicker to help elderly people if they fall from a wheelchair by notifying them via message notifications in the Blynk application.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat telah merambah hampir seluruh aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam lingkup dunia kerja dan administrasi perkantoran. Salah satu aspek yang terdampak adalah proses persuratan dan pengarsipan dokumen. Di Kantor Otoritas Pelabuhan Utama Belawan, proses pengelolaan surat masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga rawan terhadap kesalahan seperti surat tercecer, kerusakan dokumen, dan kesulitan dalam pencarian arsip. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan inefisiensi waktu dan potensi kerugian bagi instansi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sebuah sistem informasi pengarsipan surat berbasis web guna mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode waterfall, yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, dan pengujian. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan basis data MySQL, dengan antarmuka berbasis web untuk memudahkan akses bagi pengguna. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi pengarsipan surat berbasis web ini mampu mempermudah proses input, pencarian, dan pelacakan surat masuk dan keluar. Sistem juga mendukung proses monitoring oleh pimpinan secara real-time terhadap aktivitas pengarsipan, sehingga meningkatkan transparansi dan akuntabilitas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan sistem pengarsipan surat berbasis web menggunakan metode waterfall lebih efektif dan efisien dibandingkan sistem manual sebelumnya. Sistem ini dapat menjadi solusi tepat guna meningkatkan kinerja administrasi persuratan di lingkungan Kantor Otoritas Pelabuhan Utama Belawan.

Abstract

Computer network performance is highly dependent on effective traffic management and proper bandwidth allocation, especially in network environments with a large number of users and diverse service demands. Uneven bandwidth distribution often leads to degraded service quality, including low throughput, high delay, and increased packet loss. This study aims to analyze and optimize computer network performance through the implementation of traffic management and bandwidth allocation using the Simple Queue and Queue Tree methods on a MikroTik router. An experimental research approach was employed by comparing network performance before and after the application of bandwidth management mechanisms. The evaluation was conducted based on Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, namely throughput, delay, and packet loss, in accordance with the TIPHON standard. The experimental results indicate a significant improvement in network performance after the implementation of Simple Queue and Queue Tree. Throughput increased substantially, while delay and packet loss were considerably reduced, resulting in improved service quality categories. The Simple Queue method effectively ensured fair bandwidth distribution among users by limiting per-user bandwidth usage, whereas the Queue Tree method enhanced performance by prioritizing network traffic based on service types. The combination of these methods successfully minimized bandwidth monopolization, reduced network congestion, and improved overall network stability. Therefore, the implementation of Simple Queue and Queue Tree proves to be an effective solution for optimizing bandwidth utilization and enhancing Quality of Service in computer networks with high user density and heterogeneous traffic characteristics.

Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorders, and modeling its longitudinal progression is essential for improving early intervention and clinical decision-making. While spline-based approaches have been widely used to capture nonlinear patterns, their application to longitudinal Alzheimer’s progression remains limited, particularly with respect to adaptive knot selection and clinical interpretability. This study addresses this gap by applying adaptive spline regression with automatic knot selection via Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) to longitudinal Alzheimer’s disease modeling. Using a simulated longitudinal dataset of 200 patients explicitly designed to reflect realistic clinical characteristics such as cognitive decline (MMSE), hippocampal volume change, and APOE ε4 genetic status we systematically evaluate the proposed method under controlled conditions. The adaptive spline model is compared against linear regression and static (fixed-knot) spline regression using 5-fold cross-validation. The results show that adaptive spline regression achieves lower RMSE (0.191) and MAE (0.152), and a higher R² (0.130) than the baseline models. Although the explained variance remains modest, the adaptive spline more effectively captures nonlinear progression patterns and yields smoother, clinically interpretable trajectories. These findings demonstrate that adaptive knot selection enhances both flexibility and interpretability in longitudinal disease modeling. From a practical perspective, the resulting progression curves have potential value for exploratory clinical analysis and hypothesis generation. Future work will focus on validating the framework using real-world datasets such as OASIS and ADNI, and extending the model to incorporate multimodal biomarkers for improved clinical relevance.

Abstract

Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) merupakan salah satu metode deep learning yang banyak digunakan dalam tugas klasifikasi citra karena kemampuannya dalam mengekstraksi fitur secara otomatis. Meskipun demikian, kinerja CNN sangat dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik data latih, khususnya jumlah data yang digunakan dalam proses pelatihan. Jumlah data latih yang tidak memadai dapat menyebabkan model gagal melakukan generalisasi dengan baik, sedangkan peningkatan jumlah data latih tidak selalu menjamin peningkatan kinerja model secara signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jumlah data latih terhadap kinerja model Convolutional Neural Network pada klasifikasi citra. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan eksperimen terkontrol menggunakan satu arsitektur CNN yang sama, sementara jumlah data latih divariasikan dalam beberapa skenario, yaitu 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100% dari total dataset. Kinerja model dievaluasi berdasarkan nilai akurasi dan loss pada data pelatihan dan data pengujian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan jumlah data latih cenderung meningkatkan kinerja dan stabilitas model CNN, serta mengurangi kecenderungan overfitting. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran empiris mengenai hubungan antara jumlah data latih dan kinerja CNN pada tugas klasifikasi citra.
