Abstract

Mejakita is one of the website-based learning media that can improve student learning experiences independently and help students complete school assignments. The reason for using the MejaKita website as a usability evaluation topic is because based on the results of interviews with 11th-grade teachers majoring in Multimedia at SMK Negeri 5 Malang, recommendations for learning media are needed that can solve problems for students who have difficulty doing homework and school assignments. Initial user research conducted on 11th-grade students majoring in Multimedia at SMK Negeri 5 Malang found problems. The question content icon on the PR Discussion menu still seemed messy, it was difficult to find notes according to the school level and the desired subject, users found it difficult to write a description of the question, the comment column did not provide interaction, the arrangement of Mejakita website features is too complicated, there are problems when searching for formulas. The evaluation was carried out using the usability testing method and administering the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. The results of usability testing recommendations after calculations have obtained a value on the learnability component using the success rate equation of 24%, the efficiency component using the time-based efficiency equation gets a value of 0.07 goal/sec, the errors component using the defective rate equation gets a value of 2%, and the components satisfaction using the SUS questionnaire got a score of 71%.

Abstract

Mobile learning application in Computer and Basic Network subjects is an innovation from the Vocational Hight School 1 Dlanggu school. The purpose of innovation in making this application is an application that is shown in the teaching and learning process. In making or developing applications, an interface design display is needed in the form of a prototype. The design process in the mobile learning application user interface uses the Human Centered Design (HCD) method that focuses on users and user needs. In testing the prototype using the heuristic evaluation method. Heuristic evaluation (HE) to assess and find usability problems based on heuristic principles for e-learning with the help of an expert or expert as an evaluator. After heuristic testing has been carried out, the next step is to carry out tests involving users using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method to produce user satisfaction or satisfaction. The results of the solution design prototype were carried out 2 times of heuristic testing, the first stage found findings of 36 problems and the second stage decreased by 20 problems to 16 problem findings in the evaluation of the solution design. While the results of the system usability scale (SUS) questionnaire get a score of 73, which means that the results of the dolution design prototype can be accepted by the user. The results of this study can be used as design recommendations in the development of mobile learning applications.

Abstract

Industrial work practices (prakerin) are one of the efforts to prepare vocational school students to enter the world of work. Prakerin at SMKN 2 Sragen is supported by an information system that has just handled the organizing function so that it does not cover implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Therefore, these functions are still carried out manually. The Prakerin Monitoring and Evaluation Information System (SIMEP) is present to complement the existing system in SMKN 2 Sragen. The development of a system requires an interactive user interface design and one of the design methods is Human Centered Design (HCD) which involves humans in every process. HCD is able to produce an interface that is able to answer the needs of users and stakeholders. The resulting user interface design, namely the internship information website, admin dashboard, students, supervisors, and industry supervisors. Interface design, apart from focusing on the appearance of a product, is also related to usability. Usability evaluation using the Heuristic Walkthrough method allows researchers to identify usability problems in the system carefully and generate few false positives. The results of usability testing on the SIMEP interface by domain experts and usability experts found a total of 21 problems and 14 suggestions for improvement from the evaluator

Abstract

UB Learning Technology develops an application called LESON (Lesson Study Observation Note) to support supervision evaluation activities via mobile devices. Currently this application is still under development. So, the developer decided to make changes, especially in the appearance of the LESON application, which is currently considered less attractive. To help design the LESON application the Human-Centered Design (HCD) method is used to help develop interactive User Interface designs and the Heuristic Evaluation method, where the role of UI / UX experts as evaluators is to help UX Designers in producing good and correct solution designs. There are four stages carried out, namely the stage of analyzing the context of use and user needs, starting with conducting interviews with stakeholders and users in supervision activities. The result of the information obtained is that the application will have two users, namely the model teacher and the supervisor. Then the solution design stage is carried out based on the results of the user needs analysis seen from the evaluations that have previously been carried out. Then the evaluation stage is carried out with the results of usability testing using the SUS questionnaire by users of the Information Systems Study Program students. Then an evaluation was carried out using the heuristic evaluation method by three UI / UX expert evaluators which showed that a total of twenty-five problems were found in the solution design design. Based on the results of the average severity rating on the whole problem, it was found that sixteen problems had a high enough score, namely above two. The repair stage was carried out on these problems, leaving zero problems.

Abstract

User experience is how a person feels when using a service, product, or system. On February 8, 2021, WhatsApp as one of the most widely used applications today offers new policies such as data sharing, data forwarding to Facebook, data limitations in 2016 and encryption systems. The Whatsapp application lost a lot of users and switched to other instant messengers such as Telegram which has almost the same function as WhatsApp. Based on the issues that occurred, the researcher wanted to analyze the differences in user experience of Telegram and WhatsApp application users by using the Mecue questionnaire. the questionnaire was distributed to 54 respondents who had met the predetermined criteria. In the Mecue questionnaire there are 5 modules and 10 indicators, namely Usefulness, usability, visual aesthetics, status, commitment, positive emotions, negative emotions, product loyalty, intention to use and overall evaluation. This study resulted in a comparison of the average value of each indicator of the two applications where the Whatsapp application had a higher value in all indicators except for the visual aesthetics indicator.

Abstract

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government recommends that students take distance learning processes. One solution to achieve learning objectives. The teacher of SMKN 3 Malang said that in the learning process two LMS were used, namely the LMS of SMKN 3 Malang and Google Classroom. However, teachers use Google Classroom more often than LMS SMKN 3 Malang because it is easier to use and looks simpler. Therefore, this study aims to determine user experience on Google Classroom, LMS SMKN 3 Malang, and compare the two LMS. As well as providing recommendations on the use of LMS SMKN 3 Malang and Google Classroom. For this reason, researchers evaluate User Experience using the Technique for User eXperience Evaluation in e-Learning (TUXEL) which consists of three aspects, namely general usability, pedagogical usability, and User Experience. The results of this study on the general usability aspect, Google Classroom found 11 problem items, compared to LMS Masterweb with 12 problem items. In the pedagogical usability aspect, 15 problem items were found in Google Classroom, while the LMS Masterweb found 18 problem items. In the User Experience aspect, Google Classroom indicates three codes consisting of: (1) support; (2) easy; (3) interesting. LMS SMKN 3 Malang also indicated four codes, namely: (1) complicated; (2) clear; (3) practical; (4) does not meet expectations

Abstract

Score management is something that is routinely done in educational institution that give the result in the form of report cards. Score management in SMAIT Ibnu Abbas still uses Microsoft Excel and teachers feel ineffective. Based on interview with teachers and homeroom teachers, SMAIT Ibnu Abbas requires a student management information system as information for student guardians, streamlining report cards distribution, and storing report cards. This study aims to make it easier for teachers to manage grades so that they can run effectively, simplify the distribution, and make it easier for students' guardians to access the report cards. The Human Centered Design method focuses on humans in the design process and has 4 stages, those are; determine the context of use, determine usage requirements, create design solutions, and evaluate design results. This research produces a prototype of an information system based on a website application. The stage of determining the context of use is determined by 5 system users, those are admin, subject teachers, homeroom teachers, students, and student guardians. Determination of tasks and goals for users, along with the system environment. The stage of determining user requirements produces some features, 43 functional requirements, and 1 non-functional requirement. The design solution stage resulted 31 wireframe page views, suggestions for improvement, and a final design prototype of 45 pages. The stage of evaluating the results of the design was tested using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to 13 respondents consisting of all user groups. The test results show an average of 70,769 which indicates that the design is acceptable. The results of usability testing on the effectiveness aspect showed the results of 98.75%.

Abstract

Design and Evaluation of User Experience for Microteaching Applications with Mobile-Based to Support Competency Standards for Educational Students With Human Centered Design Approaches and Remote Usability Testing is carried out with the aim of supporting the achievement of competency standards for prospective teacher students through the design of applications that are used to reflect microteaching activities. The approach used in the design is Human Centered Design, while the methods used in testing are Remote Usability Testing and Retrospective Think Aloud. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with activities to collect data, analyze data, and finally obtain information related to the results of processing the data. The participants involved in this study were 6 people consisting of lecturers in micro learning courses, vocational teachers, and students of the Information Technology Education Study Program. Based on the effectiveness test by calculating the success rate has a success rate of 95.2%. Based on the results of calculations with time based efficiency, the efficiency value is 0.155 goals/second. In the aspect of ease of use, the score is 6.76 with a Single Ease Question (SEQ) measurement which indicates that the microteaching application can be categorized as an application that is very easy to use. Improvements were made to the splash screen and homepage pages that were more directed at improving the appearance, clarifying buttons, and also eliminating buttons that did not have functions to make it easier for users.

Abstract

CV PERDU LA is a Chawaty SME business entity located in Surabaya City, East Java, and has been established in 2012. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused Chawaty to experience a very significant decline in turnover. Thus increasing accuracy and speed in responding to the current pandemic conditions, CV PERDULA seeks to provide website-based services whose aim is to make it easier for potential consumers who want to know what products are offered along with product specifications and advantages. Produce useful services by involving humans, namely users and stakeholders to meet the satisfaction and needs of using the Chawaty website. The stages used in the HCD approach are the process of specifying the context of use and user needs through an interview process with stakeholders from Chawaty and users who use the service, then the process of making wireframe, wireflow, and high-fidelity prototype designs based on identified design guidelines. previously. The design solution design in the form of a high-fidelity prototype is the final result of the design process, which is then carried out by an evaluation process using the user experience questionnaire method. The results of the evaluation process get positive scores on every scale and aspect of UEQ. The attractiveness scale has a value of 2,205, the clarity scale is 2,086, the efficiency scale is 2,321, the accuracy scale is 2,214, the stimulation scale is 2,393, and the novelty scale is 2,093. The UEQ benchmark chart gets the excellent category on each scale.

Abstract

As the highest level school in High School category, Senior High School has a main fokus to preparing students to continue their education stage. For that reason, senior high school have to have a good management's strategies to support the student self-preparation. The academic management information system is a form of using technology to support education management by creating access to speed, accuracy, and integrated data collection which influencing the effectiveness and efficiency of educational services. SMAN 13 Depok is one of the senior high school that doesn't have an academic information system yet. SMAN 13 Depok needs a system which connecting the students and schools and also make it easier for both parties to control academic data. This study uses Goal Directed Design (GDD) as a method for designing the academic information system user interface (SIAKAD) of SMAN 13 Depok. The research resulted in a prototype user interface SIAKAD SMAN 13 Depok, which has task completion rate value of 100% for teacher users and 97.5% for student users with satisfactory as level of effectiveness. The time-based efficiency value is 0.011749 for teacher users and 0.014232 for student users. The SEQ is used to measure user satisfaction with result scores of 6.16, which is above the average.
