Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a learning module for elementary linear algebra courses based on scientific approach with Islamic nuances that are valid, practical, and effective. This research is a Research & Development using the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The test subjects in this study were students of the Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Alauddin Makassar, semester 2 (two) class A of 2020. The instruments used were expert validation sheet, module implementation observation sheet, learning management observation sheet, student response questionnaire, lecturer response questionnaire, student activity observation sheet, and learning outcomes test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that (1) the results of module validation and all research instruments were valid; (2) the ability of the lecturer to manage learning is in the very good category, the implementation of the module is categorized as fully implemented, and the lecturer gives a very positive response regarding the use of the module so that the module developed is categorized as practical; (3) students’ learning outcomes showed that of the 35 students who took the learning outcomes test, the percentage of students’ learning completeness was 85.71%, students’ activity in learning was in the very good category, and students gave very positive responses to the use of the module so that the module developed categorized as effective. It can be concluded that the scientific-based elementary linear algebra module with Islamic nuances has met the valid, practical and effective criteria.

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa berdasarkan indikator pemahaman matematis pada mata kuliah aljabar linear elementer materi ruang vektor, sub ruang vektor, dan vektor Euclidean. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian meliputi mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan matematika fakultas tarbiyah dan keguruan UIN Alauddin Makassar angkatan 2016 yang diduga mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep pada mata kuliah aljabar linear elementer. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan matematika UIN Alauddin Makassar angkatan 2016 dalam menyelesaikan soal aljabar linear elementer ditinjau dari indikator kemampuan pemahaman matematis, mahasiswa tergolong cukup mampu pada indikator: (1) pemahaman mampu menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep, (2) menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematika, (3) menggunakan, memanfaatkan dan memilih prosedur tertentu, dan (4) mengaplikasikan konsep/algoritma ke pemecahan masalah. Namun, mahasiswa tergolong tidak mampu pada indikator kemampuan memberi contoh dan bukan contoh. Adapun faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pendidikan matematika UIN Alauddin Makassar angkatan 2016 pada mata kuliah Aljabar Linear Elementer dalam konsep ruang vektor, sub ruang vektor, dan ruang vektor Euclidean, yaitu faktor internal: kurangnya minat belajar, kurang fokus dalam belajar, motivasi belajar rendah, konsentrasi belajar rendah, kemampuan mengingat rendah, dan kurang rasa percaya diri. Faktor eksternal, yaitu mahasiswa kurang memahami maksud soal, mahasiswa lupa konsep aksioma, mahasiswa tidak tahu konsep aksioma, penggunaan gadget selama proses pembelajaran, dosen kurang memperhatikan mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran, dan tidak adanya buku pegangan mahasiswa. AbstractThis article aims to determine the ability to understand student concepts based on indicators of mathematical understanding in elementary linear algebra courses in vector space, sub vector spaces, and euclidean vectors. This research used desciptive qualitative approach. Research subjects included students majoring in mathematics education at the tarbiyah faculty and the UIN Alauddin Makassar class of 2016 who were suspected of having difficulty understanding concepts in linear elementary algebra courses. The research instruments used were diagnostic tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the understanding ability of students majoring in mathematics education at UIN Alauddin Makassar class of 2016 in solving linear elementary algebra in terms of indicators of mathematical understanding ability, students classified as quite capable of indicators: (1) understanding is able to restate a concept, (2) present the concept in various forms of mathematical representation, (3) using, utilizing and choosing certain procedures, and (4) applying concepts / algorithms to problem solving. However, students are classified as not capable of the ability to set examples and not examples. The factors that influence the understanding of the concept of mathematics education student UIN Alauddin Makassar class of 2016 in the Linear Elementary Algebra in the concept of vector space, sub vector space, and Euclidean vector space, namely internal factors: lack of interest in learning, lack of focus in learning, motivation low learning, low concentration of learning, low ability to remember, and lack of confidence. External factors, namely students do not understand the purpose of the problem, students forget the concept of axioms, students do not know the concept of axioms, the use of gadgets during the learning process, lecturers pay less attention to students during the learning process, and the absence of student handbooks.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis multimedia yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research & Development. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Makassar dengan sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII1. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, angket respons guru, angket respons siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor hasil validasi media pembelajaran adalah 3,45 berada pada kategori valid. Rata-rata skor yang diperoleh berdasarkan respons guru dan respons siswa terhadap media pembelajaran sebesar 93,1% dan 96,9% yang menunjukkan media pembelajaran ini praktis. Kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran dengan rata-rata 3,87 berada pada kategori sangat baik, aktivitas siswa dalam kategori sangat baik yakni 94,75%, dan tes hasil belajar berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar keseluruhan siswa sebesar 83,08%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis multimedia memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. AbstractThis study aimed to develop multimedia-based interactive learning media that is valid, practical, and effective. This type of research was Research & Development. The development used in this study was the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The population of this study was eight-grade students of MTs Negeri 1 Kota Makassar with the study sample was students of VIII1 class in MTs Negeri 1 Kota Makassar. The research instruments used were expert validation sheet, students’ activity observation sheet, teachers’ activity observation sheet, teacher response questionnaire, student response questionnaire, and learning achievement test. The results showed that the average score of the learning media validation result was 3.45 in the valid category. The average score obtained from the teacher and students’ questionnaire responses were 93.1% and 96.9%, indicated that this learning media was practical to use. The ability of teachers to manage to learn obtained an average of 3.87 is in the very good category, students’ activity in the very good category which is 94.75%, the learning achievement test is in high category with the percentage of 83.08% It can be concluded that multimedia-based interactive learning media fulfilled the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik kelas VII UPT SMPN 3 Mattirosompe dengan menerapkan Strategi Pembelajaran Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir (SPPKB) dan Strategi Pembelajaran Ekspositori (SPE). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan desain non equivalent control group. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik dengan penerapan SPPKB pada umumnya berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik dengan penerapan SPE pada umumnya berada pada kategori tinggi. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik dengan menerapkan SPPKB dan SPE, dimana hasil kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik yang diajar dengan menerapkan SPPKB lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik yang diajar dengan menerapkan SPE di kelas VII UPT SMPN 3 Mattirosompe. AbstractThis study aims to compare the mathematical reasoning abilities of the seventh grade students of UPT SMPN 3 Mattirosompe using thinking ability enhancement learning strategy (TAELS) and Expository Learning Strategies (ELS). This type of research is a quasi experiment with a non equivalent control group design. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that students 'mathematical reasoning abilities with the application of TAELS were generally in the very high category and students' mathematical reasoning abilities with the application of ELS were generally in the high category. Besides, there are differences in students 'mathematical reasoning abilities using TAELS and ELS, where the results of students' mathematical reasoning abilities taught by TAELS are higher than students 'mathematical reasoning abilities taught using SPE in class VII students of UPT SMPN 3 Mattirosompe.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar matematika peserta didik beserta faktor apa saja yang memberi pengaruh pada hasil belajar mereka pada materi lingkaran sesuai ranah kognitif taksonomi bloom. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis deskriptif kualitatif. Penentuan sampel didasarkan pada purposive sampling sehingga ditentukan sampel penelitian ialah seluruh siswa dalam kelas VIII di MTs Al-Ikhlas Addary DDI Takkalasi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 29 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah tes dalam bentuk esai sebanyak 6 nomor yang sudah disesuaikan dengan tahapan: pengetahuan, pemahaman, analisis, penerapan, evaluasi, dan sintesis dari taksonomi bloom. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini ialah hasil belajar siswa yang paling tinggi berada pada tahapan pemahaman, sementara hasil belajar siswa yang paling rendah berada pada tahapan evaluasi dan pengetahuan.AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the mathematics learning outcomes of the students along with what factors influence their learning outcomes in the discussion circle according to the cognitive domain of bloom taxonomy. This research is a qualitative descriptive type. The determination of the sample was based on purposive sampling so that the research sample was determined to be all students in class VIII at MTs Al-Ikhlas Addary DDI Takkalasi. The research subjects were 29 people. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation. The instrument used was a test in the form of a 6-number of essay which had been adjusted according to the stages: knowledge, understanding, analysis, application, evaluation, and synthesis of the bloom taxonomy. The results obtained from this study are that the highest student learning outcomes are at the understanding stage, while the lowest student learning outcomes are at the evaluation and knowledge stages.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu yang didesain menggunakan teknik Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII MTs Negeri Model Makassar. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) kelas eksperimen sebelum menerapkan model pembelajaran project based learning memperoleh nilai rata-rata hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 79,28. Setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran project based learning diperoleh nilai rata-rata hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 91,24 sehingga terjadi peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 15,086%; 2) secara signifikan, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah untuk kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran project based learning di MTs Negeri Model Makassar.  AbstractThis research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the application of the project based learning model in improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research approach is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research designed using the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design technique. The research sample was class VIII MTs Negeri Model Makassar.. The data analysis technique used descriptive and inferential analysis, namely t test. The results showed that 1) the experimental class before applying the project-based learning model obtained an average value of the problem-solving ability test results of 79.28. After applying the project based learning learning model, the average value of the problem solving ability test results was 91.24, resulting in an average increase of 15.086%; 2) there is a significant increase in problem-solving abilities for classes that use the project-based learning model at MTs Negeri Model Makassar.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman matematis antara penerapan model discovery learning dan penerapan model problem based learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Adapun populasi yang diteliti yaitu semua siswa kelas VIII di MTs Madani Alauddin, Kabupaten Gowa. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal pretest dan posttest kemampuan pemahaman matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman matematis dengan penerapan model discovery learning adalah 63,97 dengan standar deviasi 12,783. Sedangkan rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman matematis dengan penerapan model problem based learning yaitu 72,31 dengan standar deviasi 16,175. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman matematis antara yang menerapkan discovery learning dan problem based learning dengan nilai sig. 0,014 < 0,05 yang berarti H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa kelas VIII di MTs Madani Alauddin yang diajar dengan model problem based learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan model discovery learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe diskursus multi representasi (DMR) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Guppi Samata. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis quasi eksperimental dengan non-equivalent control group design. Populasinya  berjumlah 51 orang peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Guppi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan sampel jenuh. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe DMR efektif meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing, 2) kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang tidak menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing, dan 3) apakah ada perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing dengan yang tidak menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing. Jenis penelitian yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain non equivalent control group design. Populasinya mencakup siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa yang terdiri dari 16 kelas kemudian dilakukan penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem posing berada pada kategori sangat tinggi yaitu 78,77, sedangkan yang tidak menggunakan model pembelajaran problem posing berada pada kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 73,12. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis inferensial dengan menggunakan uji t disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing dengan yang tidak menerapkan model pembelajaran problem posing. Karena dengan model pembelajaran  problem posing menekankan peserta didik untuk mengajukan permasalahan ataupun soal berdasarkan situasi yang diberikan dengan begitu kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik salah satunya dalam hal mengajukan pendapatnya semakin meningkat sehingga mereka lebih percaya diri akan kemampuan berbicaranya di depan umum.

Abstract

Calculus is a branch of mathematics that is applied to solve various problems in various fields of science such as engineering, physics, medicine, chemistry, economics, and various other sciences. However, most students assume that calculus is an elusive material. Therefore, it is necessary to have a study of the difficulties of students in solving calculus questions, given the very importance of this concept in taking the next course. This study is qualitative descriptive research that involved forty-two second semester students of the Mathematics Education Program of IAIN Palopo, and six of them are the interview subjects. In data collection, it used written tests and interviews. Furthermore, the data obtained are then analyzed through reduction, data presentation, and conclusions withdrawal. The findings show that the students get learning difficulties in reading by 52.38%, in writing by 66.67%, and in accounting by 57.14%. The factors causing these difficulties, namely students are not able to identify questions, difficulties in using integral symbols, difficulties in using proper techniques and formulas, difficulties in understanding the steps to solve partial integral problems, difficulties in calculations, difficulties in solving until the final stage of the integral process.
