Abstract

ABSTRAKTanaman jelatang banyak ditemukan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang, tapi seringkali hanya dibiarkan kering, layu, mati, dibakar, dibuang karena umumnya hanya dianggap sebagai gulma. Padahal nilai dari tanaman jelatang sangat besar jika dikembangkan karena kaya akan manfaat. Tujuan kegiatan PKM untuk memberdayakan, menguatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam swamedikasi, optimalisasi potensi tanaman jelatang, penyuluhan kesehatan dengan memberikan informasi mengenai khasiat dan kegunaan tanaman jelatang, membuat krim anti-aging dari ekstrak daun jelatang.  Diawal kegiatan, peserta mengisi kuesioner untuk mengukur pemahaman mengenai jelatang. Setelah dilaksanakan penyuluhan, peserta kembali diminta mengisi kuesioner untuk melihat peningkatan pemahamannya. Diakhir kegiatan dilakukan demonstrasi pembuatan krim anti aging dari jelatang. Setelah penyuluhan, pemahaman peserta terkait tanaman jelatang mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 50% pada Kelompok Tani Sekar Sari dan sebanyak 29,41% pada Kelompok Tani Dame. Peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta tentang potensi jelatang dapat membantu masyarakat memaanfatkan jelatang secara optimal. Kata Kunci : Tanaman jelatang, krim, anti aging, daun gatal ABSTRACTNettle plants are commonly found in Deli Serdang Regency but are often only left to dry, wilt, die, be burned, thrown away because they are generally only considered as weeds. Whereas the value of the nettle plant is very large if it is developed because it is rich in benefits. The purpose of activities is to strengthen the community, provide health education about the efficacy and usefulness of nettle plants, formulation of anti-aging cream preparations from nettle leaf extract. At the beginning of the activity, participants were asked to fill out a questionnaire. At the end of the activity, there was a demonstration of making anti-aging cream from nettle. After the counseling, participants' understanding of nettle plants increased by 50% in the Sekar Sari farmer group and by 29.41% in the Dame farmer group. Increased knowledge and understanding of participants about the potential of nettles can help the community to use nettle optimally.  Keywords: Nettle plants, cream, anti-aging, itchy leaves

Abstract

Referring to data from the Directorate General of Plantations of the Ministry of Agriculture throughout 2019, the area of oil palm plantations in Indonesia is estimated at around 14.68 million hectares, with total production reaching 51.8 million tons per year or the largest in the world. In 1 ton of palm oil produces 6.5% shell waste or 65 kg. Nanocarbons with their unique properties are now widely used in various applications such as batteries, supercapacitors, sensors and so on. Utilization of palm fruit shell waste as a nanocarbon material with a micropore structure, large surface area and high pore volume is the goal of this research.

Abstract

The use of antipsychotics in schizophrenic patients often causes side effects in the form of Extra Pyramidal Syndrome (EPS), namely the presence of uncontrolled muscle movement disorders such as seizures, shaking and so on. The incidence of EPS is more common with the use of typical antipsychotics than atypicals. This study aims to see the incidence of EPS in inpatients with schizophrenia at the Aceh Mental Hospital located in Banda Aceh in 2020. The population in this study were all inpatients who were given typical antipsychotics. While the research sample was 399 samples collected from medical record data of inpatients in 2020, so the study was retrospective with a cross sectional approach. Data collected in the form of patient identity (gender, age), drug therapy (typical antipsychotics) and the incidence of EPS. The results showed that schizophrenic patients who received typical antipsychotic therapy who were hospitalized at the Aceh mental hospital in 2020, were 324 men (81.2%) and 75 women (18.8%), with the highest age range being at 36-45 years amounting to 202 people (50.6%). Typical antipsychotic therapy used in the form of combination of typical-typical and typical-atypical drugs, namely clozapine-trifluperazine (40.6%), chlorpromazine-risperidone (20.3%), haloperidol-chlorpromazine-trifluperazine (16%), haloperidolchlorpromazine (7%), and haloperidol-trifluperazine (5%). The incidence of EPS that occurred was 113 people (28.3%), with the highest number of EPS occurring from the administration of haloperidol-chlorpromazine-trifluperazine combination antipsychotic therapy, which was 61 people (15.3%).

Abstract

Face wash is a facial cleanser in the form of a gel containing foam which is recommended for sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. One of the natural ingredients that can be developed is nettle (Urtica dioica L.). The aim of this study was to to determine the potential of nettle leaf extract facial wash. The process of making nettle leaf extract using the maceration method with ethanol as a solvent. The results of the characteristics of nettle leaf simplicia powder obtained 13.78% water content, 37.7% water soluble extract content, 37.89% ethanol soluble extract content, 14.69% total ash content. The screening of simplicia powder results were positive for containing alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, steroids, saponins, tannins. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that ethanol extract of nettle leaves can be formulated in a facial wash with a variation of concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%.

Abstract

Bangun-Bangun leaves contain phytochemical compounds such as phenolic compounds and flavonoids which have potential as antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extract of Bangun-Bangun leaves on reducing blood glucose levels (KGD) of male white rats by using the glucose tolerance test method and the alloxan induction test. The study was conducted by grouping rats where each group consisted of 5 rats, the fasting KGD was measured. Then, a group I was given Na-CMC 1% BW, group II was given glibenclamide 0.45 mg/kg BW, group III was given EEDBB at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW, group IV was given EEDBB at a dose of 250 mg/kg BW and group V was given EEDBB dose of 300 mg/kg BW. In the glucose tolerance test, each group was given a 50% concentration of glucose solution. Furthermore, measurements of KGD were carried out at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. In alloxan induction, 25 test animals weighing ±150-200 g that had been fasted were divided into 5 groups and then KGD was measured. The rats were then induced with a dose of 150 mg/kg BW of alloxan intraperitoneally. Diabetic rats were then given the test preparation orally for 15 consecutive days. Furthermore, glucose levels were measured on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, and 15th days. The results concluded that EEDBB can reduce blood glucose levels of male white rats induced by alloxan.

Abstract

Pemakaian minyak goreng secara berulang dengan suhu panas yang tinggi akan mengalami perubahan sifat fisikokimia (kerusakan minyak) seperti warna, bau, meningkatnya asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida serta banyaknya kandungan logam. Pada penelitian ini dibuat arang aktif dari tempurung kelapa dan diaktivasi secara kimia dengan activator HCl. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui metode adsorben karbon aktif arang dari tempurung kelapa yang diaktivasi dengan HCl dapat meningkatkan kualitas minyak goreng bekas. Sampel adalah minyak goreng kelapa sawit. Pengulangan pengukuran dilakukan enam kali pada masing-masing minyak. Pengujian kadar asam lemak bebas menggunakan titrasi (KOH) dan bilangan peroksida ditetapkan dengan metode titrasi iodometri. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan rata-rata kadar asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar asam lemak bebas minyak goreng baru sebesar 0,1693±0,1716%, minyak goreng bekas tanpa pemberian karbon aktif sebesar 1,0070±0,0566% dan minyak goreng bekas setelah pemberian karbon aktif sebesar 0,2351±0,4562%. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar bilangan peroksida pada minyak goreng baru sebesar 2,3537±0,8627 meq/kg, minyak goreng bekas tanpa pemberian karbon aktif sebesar 6,5548±0,9364 meq/kg, pada minyak goreng bekas setelah pemberian 4,2173±1,9471 meq/kg. Adapun kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu bahwa kadar asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida yang didapat yaitu memenuhi persyaratan yang telah ditetapkan oleh SNI 7709: 2012 yaitu 0,3% dan 10 meq/kg.

Abstract

Ibuprofen is one of drugs, which was used in medication rematic and arthritis, The purpose of this research was used to determination ibuprofen in the tablet, which circulates in the general whether it fulfilled requirement of drug quality, or not so that it will give the therapeutic effect. The determining of ibuprofen in tablet was done by Infrared Spectrophotometry using Methanol as a solvent at wavenumber 1709,0 cm-1 and tested it validity based on parameter accuracy using standard addition method, precision, limit of detection and limit of quantitation. Based on quantitative determination of ibuprofen in generic tablet ; Ibuprofen Sampel A was 98,36% ± 0,15%. Ibuprofen Sampel B was 102,38%± 0,21% and branded name, Sampel C, D, E in succession was 97,10% ± 0,18%; 99,34% ± 0,24%; was 103,33% ± 0,19%. The result of research indicate that determining ibuprofen in the generic tablet and branded name was fullfilled requirement of the Farmakope Indonesia Edisi IV (1995), not less than 90,0% and not more than 110,0% of the labelled amount.

Abstract

Scrub cream is a pharmaceutical preparation which function is to remove dead skin cells, moisturize and brighten the skin with the help of scrub ingredients. One of the natural ingredients used as raw material for scrub cream is fragrant pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.). The aim of this study was to make a cream scrub preparation from pandan extract with various concentrations of 3%, 3.5% and 4%. This research was conducted experimentally. Preparation testing includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, irritation test, spreadability test, stability test, and emulsion type test. The results of the physical quality inspection of the scrub cream from pandan Wangi extract showed that the preparation was homogeneous, had an M/A emulsion type, had a pH value of 6.1-6.5, did not cause irritation and did not change during storage for 4 weeks except for the preparation with a concentration of 3.5% because the preparation underwent a change in the breakdown of the emulsion in the preparation on storage starting from the 3rd week. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb extract can be formulated as a scrub cream with a variation of concentration of 3%; 3.5% and 4% and does not irritate the volunteers' skin.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.) dilakukan dalam rangka mendukung gerakan madrasah sehat di MTsN 3 Medan melalui program perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). PHBS dianggap mampu menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang sehat. Salah satu cara menjaga kebersihan yang paling dasar adalah menjaga kebersihan tangan yang banyak menjadi akses penularan bakteri. Penggunaan hand sanitizer merupakan upaya yang paling sederhana, efektif dan efisien. Penambahan bahan alami seperti ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica Dioica L.) dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai anti bakteri. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ini berupa penyuluhan serta pelatihan secara langsung pembuatan produk hand sanitizer dengan ekstrak daun jelatang (Urtica dioica L.). Setelah adanya kegiatan PKM ini, peningkatan pemahaman kelompok mitra terhadap PHBS dan produksi hand sanitizer mengalami peningkatan sekitar 2,86 – 37,90%.
