Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penokohan dalam novel Pasta Kacang Merah karya Durian Sukegawa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Sumber data penelitian ini bersumber dari novel Pasta Kacang Merah karya Durian Sukegawa cetakan ketiga yang terbit pada tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dalam pengumpulan data. Teknik ini dilakukan dengan cara membaca dan menelaah kalimat atau kutipan dalam novel Pasta Kacang Merah. Hasil analisis penelitian ini berupa penokohan yang ada di dalam novel Pasta Kacang Merah. Dari hasil pengamatan, ditemukan 11 tokoh yang berperan dengan berbagai jenis penokohan yang digambarkan oleh Durian Sukegawa. Tokoh- tokoh tersebut terdiri dari Tsuji Sentaro, Yoshii Tokue, Wakana, Nyonya Pemilik Toko, Moriyama, Bos, Yoshiaki, Ibu Tokue, Adik Tokue, Ibu Sentaro, dan Tanaka.

Abstract

Novel Archendia dan Asyllus karya Ashyels Rosyanna menghadirkan berbagai nilai moral yang terdapat dalam setiap tokohnya. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja wujud nilai moral yang terdapat dalam novel Archendia dan Asyllus karya Ashyels Rosyanna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data yakni desktiptif kualitatif. Teknik penyajian data analisis berupa penjelasan dan uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Archendia dan Asyllus karya Ashyels Rosyanna menunjukkan empat wujud nilai moral, yaitu hubungan manusia dengan tuhan, hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri, hubungan manusia dengan manusia dan hubungan manusia dengan alam. Wujud nilai moral dalam hubungan manusia dengan tuhannya meliputi, berdoa, bersyukur, dan berikhtiar. Wujud nilai moral hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri meliputi, percaya diri, bekerja keras, keberanian, kemandirian, hemat, kejujuran dan kerendahan hati. Wujud nilai moral dalam hubungan manusia dengan manusia meliputi, berbakti kepada orang tua, tolong-menolong, peduli dan berbagi. Wujud nilai moral dalam hubungan manusia dengan alam yakni menjaga kebersihan lingkungan.

Abstract

Chairil Anwar's poem "My Home" reflects the inner struggle and search for identity in a life full of uncertainty. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to explore the meaning of the symbols contained in the poem. Symbols such as "home," "tent," "twilight," and "clear glass" are depictions of feelings of alienation, confusion of direction, and a desire for peace that is not physical, but spiritual. The results of the study show that this poem is not only an aesthetic expression, but also a medium for understanding the dynamics of the human mind in facing reality. Chairil Anwar positions poetry as a space for self-protection and a place to search for the meaning of life. The implications of this study strengthen the understanding that literature, especially poetry, has an important function as a means of reflection and existential expression in facing the complexities of life.

Abstract

The song "Bayar Bayar Bayar" by the band Sukatani describes a social critique of injustice in public services in Indonesia, especially those involving the police institution. Through simple yet meaningful repetitive lyrics, the song reflects the reality of people's lives who have to face additional costs to obtain public services that should be free or fair. In this analysis, the song is connected to Nancy Fraser's concept of social injustice, which shows the inequality in the distribution of social rights, as well as the instrumental theory of law which states that law is often a tool for certain interests. The aesthetic techniques used in the song, including repetition and hyperbole, strengthen the message of social criticism, making it a means of resistance to corrupt social structures. In the Indonesian social context, the song also serves as a reflection of society's distrust of public institutions and becomes a medium of expression that encourages collective awareness of broader issues of injustice.

Abstract

This article explores the significance found in the lyrics of the song "Paris Berantai" by Anang Ardiansyah through Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach. This song is among the plethora of traditional Banjar music that not only provides enjoyable melodies but also incorporates social imagery that mirrors the values of Banjar society, including love, yearning, struggle, identity, and social dynamics. The methodology employed is qualitative descriptive with hermeneutic research methods, which involve a thorough interpretation of song lyrics as social works. This research seeks to uncover the implications within the lyrics that musically and artfully express the intricacies of local culture. The findings reveal that this song is not merely a traditional musical composition but also serves as a medium for conveying the character and intellect of Banjar society. This analysis indicates that each lyric of the song holds a philosophical significance that reflects the perspectives of the Banjar people on time, social relationships, nature, and the impact of external societies. Furthermore, this song portrays the experience of profound love and acts as a channel for conveying moral, spiritual, and social messages within a sophisticated context.

Abstract

Literature and life complement each other, where literature serves as an expression of the soul that reflects beauty and cultural values. Poetry, one of the oldest forms of literature, holds meaning and imagination. This research focuses on the poem “Barangkali” by Amir Hamzah, who is famous for his ability to create an atmosphere of romanticism and spirituality. The purpose of the research is to analyze the inner and outer structure of the poem using a structuralism approach, so that readers can understand the relationship between form and meaning in poetry. The method applied is qualitative descriptive analysis, with the main data source of the poem. The results of the analysis show that the physical and inner structures of the poem collaborate to convey the worship of sublime love. Finding the theme, tone, atmosphere, and mandate in this poem underscores the spiritual depth and transcendental meaning contained therein. It is hoped that this research will be able to increase readers' understanding and appreciation of literary works, and encourage readers to be more critical and reflective in enjoying poetry. This analysis can then become a reference for further literary studies, especially related to classical poetry that is full of symbolic meaning.

Abstract

Literature as a medium to express ideas, emotions, or social problems that occur. This study aims to reveal the representation of romance in the poem "Aku Ingin" by Sapardi Djoko Damono by examining the use of figures of speech that contain romantic values. This poem is known as a work that is simple in structure but full of deep emotional meaning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis method, this study analyzes the text of the poem to explore the elements of romance implied through diction, metaphors, and natural symbols. The results of the analysis show that Sapardi presents the concept of love that is calm, sincere, and does not demand explicit reciprocation. The representation of romance in this poem is seen in the simplicity of expressing feelings of love that emphasizes more on proof through actions and symbols rather than direct words. The use of metaphors in this poem strengthens the subtle romantic nuances, making love a form of devotion that is full of sincerity. The poem "Aku Ingin" reflects a unique dimension of romance that is different from classical romance, which is usually full of turmoil.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language style and diction in the poem Karawang-Bekasi by Chairil Anwar using a stylistic approach. This poem is famous for its spirit of struggle that stirs up feelings of nationalism and the sacrifices of heroes. Through the analysis of language style, it was found that the use of figures of speech such as metaphor, personification, and hyperbole strengthen the emotional message of the poem. In addition, the diction chosen by Chairil Anwar has an important role in creating a heroic atmosphere and encouraging readers to absorb the meaning of the struggle. This study also reveals that the choice of words in this poem not only forms aesthetics, but also reflects a strong ideology of struggle. Thus, this finding enriches the understanding of the role of language style and diction in poetry as part of deep literary communication.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the moral values ​​contained in the lyrics of the song "For Women Who Are in a Hug" by Payung Teduh using a literary sociology approach. This song was chosen because the lyrics are full of meaning and describe the deep emotional relationship between the male and female characters. Through qualitative analysis, it was found that this song contains the values ​​of affection and sincere love, emotional honesty, simplicity, gratitude, and respect for women. These values ​​not only reflect healthy personal relationships, but also reflect the social conditions of modern society which is experiencing a crisis of emotional closeness due to the dominance of materialistic lifestyles. The results of this study show that song lyrics as part of popular literary works can be an effective medium in conveying moral and social messages in a subtle but profound manner.

Abstract

This article examines the role of literature as a medium for social criticism. Literature is not merely a collection of beautiful words; it also functions to convey emotions, ideas, and criticism regarding social issues. Literature can portray societal conditions and various issues veiled in public discourse, fostering debate, reflection, and acting as a catalyst for social change. This article specifically analyzes W.S. Rendra's poem "Orang Kepanasan" (People Overheated) as a clear example of how literature can serve as a medium for social critique.Using a descriptive qualitative approach and documentation method, this study identifies various forms of injustice, including social inequality, legal injustice, and political injustice, as represented in the poem. Rendra employs symbolism and precise language to express public dissatisfaction, even if not explicitly. The per-stanza analysis of the poem reveals sharp criticism that depicts the limited lives of the marginalized confronting luxury and power. Thus, this article affirms that literary works have a cumulative role in shaping public opinion, fostering critical thinking about surrounding circumstances, and disseminating critical ideas, even if change does not occur instantaneously.
