Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of the use of mathematics learning media to strengthen numeracy learning in senior high schools in Kendari City. This type of research is exploratory with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were high school mathematics teachers in Kendari City. Data collection techniques in this study using interview techniques. The data analysis technique follows the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis model, which consists of three activities that coincide: data compaction, data presentation, and concluding/verification. Based on the research results and discussion, it can be concluded that the learning media used by teachers in learning mathematics still uses PowerPoint media, textbooks, zoom applications, and WhatsApp. Package books and power points are still the primary media for learning mathematics. There are no android-based mathematics learning media used by teachers. The provision of practice questions and evaluation of learning related to algebraic material, data and uncertainty, as well as geometry, is first given an initial test, and then an increase in the level of difficulty of the exercises is carried out. Students' numeracy skills are still very low because the learning process has not yet been implemented to support students' numeracy abilities. Students' numeracy skills are only facilitated by solving problems such as fractions. Numerical ability has not been associated with the problems students usually face daily.

Abstract

Awareness of metacognition is one of mental process that occurs when a person knows what he thinks, including the knowledge and awareness to do something or realize the reason that. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe how the metacognition awareness of mathematics student and mathematics education student based on mathematical ability, and (2) to know the difference metacognitive awareness between of mathematics students with math education students based on mathematical ability. This research subject are the Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Education students of Halu Oleo University Kendari, Indonesia. This research is ex post facto by the data analysis using descriptive and inferential approach. Descriptive approach used to describe the level of metacognitive awareness of mathematics students and mathematics education students based on his mathematical abilities, whereas inferential approach used to see the difference in metacognition awareness of mathematics students and mathematics education students based math skills. The results of this study are: (1) the level of students metacognition awareness of Mathematics Department, generally located on level strategic use and level reflective use, while the level of students metacognition awareness of Education Mathematics Department, generally located on level aware use; (2) there is a significant difference between the awareness metacognition of math students with mathematics education student based on his mathematical abilities, and awareness metacognition of math student better than mathematics education students.

Abstract

Target yang dicapai dari pembelajaran online di sekolah adalah: (a) Guru dan siswa memahami teori penggunaan pembelajaran online dengan baik, (b) Guru dan siswa dapat menggunakan pembelajaran online dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah, dan (c) Guru dan siswa dapat mengemukakan kendala dan cara mengatasi masalah pelaksanaan pembelajaran online di sekolah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SD dan SMP Kecamatan Ramomeeto.  Mekanisme pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dapat dikelompokkan menjadi 3 tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan untuk mensosialisasikan  pembelajaran berbasis online di sekolah berupa metode ceramah, metode diskusi, wawancara, survey dan metode praktek lapangan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan adalah penggunaan Zoom dan geogle meet dinilai sangat membantu untuk proses pembelajaran selama pandemi Covid-19 di sekolah. Hambantan yang terjadi dari kegiatan ini, yaitu (1) Masih ada siswa dan guru yang belum menggunakan teknologi sehingga susah diajarkan menggunakan aplikasi Zoom maupun geogle meet, dan (2) Signal/jaringan internet yang tidak stabil.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang rendah. Tujuan Penelitian ini yaitu: untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII A SMPN 16 Konawe Selatan ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Subjek penelitian ini diambil dari hasil angket gaya belajar sebanyak  3 siswa yaitu masing-masing visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian eksploratif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data hasil penelitian di kumpulkan melalui pemberian angket, tes tertulis dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan: (1) siswa yang bergaya belajar visual memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kategori tinggi, memilik karakteristik mengandalkan indra mata untuk menangkap informasi, tetapi siswa bergaya belajar visual kurang mampu menangkap informasi yang disampaikan secara lisan dan lebih menyukai soal yang disertai gambar, (2) siswa bergaya belajar auditorial memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis rendah dan mampu menyelesaikan soal yang disampaikan secara lisan dan diberikan penjelasan singkat, karena siswa bergaya belajar auditorial  dapat menerima informasi dengan baik melalui pendengaran, memiliki kesulitan untuk menyerap informasi dalam bentuk tulisan, serta kesulitan merepresentasikan masalah, (3) siswa bergaya kinestetik memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis rendah, karena tidak mampu menyelesaikan secara penuh semua soal yang diberikan baik soal visual, lisan atau verbal, dan tidak dapat duduk dengan tenang ketika mengerjakan soal.

Abstract

REACT is a development model of contextual learning, to help teachers relate learning material to the real world. This study aims to determine the effect of the REACT learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students. The populations of this study were all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Unaaha in the academic year 2019/2020 which was distributed in 5 classes. The sample was determined using purposive sampling technique, so that two classes were selected as samples, namely class VII1 as the experimental class and class VII2 as the control class. The research design used a posttest-only control design. The research instrument used teacher and student activity observation sheets, and tests of mathematical problem solving abilities. The observation data was collected during the learning process using the REACT learning model, while the data from the problem-solving ability test was carried out during the posttest. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the REACT learning model on the mathematical solving ability of grade VII students of Junior High Schools. The REACT learning model can develop students' creative thinking so that they can construct their own concepts and knowledge.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-concept terhadap pemahaman matematis ditinjau dari gender siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 17 Kendari. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 17 Kendari yang berjumlah 220 siswa yang terbagi atas 7 kelas paralel. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 81 siswa yang diperoleh dengan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara pemberian angket self-concept dan tes pemahaman matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa: (1) tidak terdapat pengaruh self-concept siswa laki-laki terhadap pemahaman matematis dengan nilai thitung sebesar 1,764 < ttabel sebesar 2,015; (2) tidak terdapat pengaruh self-concept siswa perempuan terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa dengan nilai thitung sebesar 1,387 < ttabel sebesar 2,034; (3) terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan self-concept terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa dengan nilai thitung sebesar 2,569 > ttabel sebesar 1,990.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is: to see the development of students' collaboration skills in learning mathematics through the Lesson Study approach in the Mathematics Education Study Program. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Halu Oleo University, who were enrolled in the Kapita Selecta Mathematics course. The implementation of this research consists of 3 cycles, and each cycle consists of 3 stages, namely preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The method used in this research consists of 3 stages, namely plan, do, and see. Data collection techniques in this study include two kinds of instruments, namely the main instrument and supporting instruments. The data analysis technique follows the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis model, consisting of three activities that occur simultaneously: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this research is the development of students' collaboration skills in learning mathematics through Lesson Study approach in Mathematics Education Study Program. Generally, there is an increase in student learning outcomes in mathematics learning with the Lesson study approach, namely for Cycle 1, average 83.0; Cycle 2, average 78.0; and Cycle 3; average 85.0.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: (1) Describe the mathematical problem-solving skills of SMK Negeri 2 Kendari grade X students who are taught using the Problem Based Learning learning model with assistance from Geogebra; and (2) ascertain the impact of the Problem Based Learning learning model with assistance from Geogebra on the mathematical problem-solving skills of SMK Negeri 2 Kendari grade X students. The participants in this study were all SMK Negeri 2 Kendari grade X students enrolled in the 2022–2023 academic year. The experimental class in this study was the X TMA class, and the control class was the X TM B class. The findings demonstrated that: (1) the experimental class students' mathematical problem-solving ability, taught using the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning learning model, are in the following categories: excellent, comprising up to 8 students with a percentage of 29.6%; good, comprising up to 9 students with a percentage of 33.3%; sufficient, comprising 6 students with a percentage of 22.2%; poor, comprising up to 3 students with a percentage of 11.1%; and very poor, comprising 1 student with a percentage of 3.7%. The analysis's findings lead to the conclusion that, when it comes to the two-variable linear inequality system, the experimental class's descriptive mathematical problem-solving ability, which was taught using the Problem Based Learning learning model in conjunction with Geogebra, outperformed that of the control class, which was taught using the Problem Based Learning learning model alone. The value of t hitung = 2.591 was acquired from the hypothesis testing findings. It is evident that when tcount is high, H0 is disproved. In summary, students taught using the Geogebra-assisted Problem Based Learning learning model had an average greater level of mathematical problem solving skill than students taught using the Problem Based Learning learning model.

Abstract

Interactive digital modules have now become a new commodity in the world of learning that must be a major concern in order to facilitate an efficient and flexible learning process. The purpose of this development is to create augmented reality to be used as a learning resource by all academics. This study uses the Lee Owens development model which consists of 4 stages, namely assessment/analysis, design, development and implementation, and evaluation. This development activity involved a learning media expert, a material expert, and 8 small group pilots to assess the feasibility of the digital module being developed. Based on the presentation of the validator's assessment of the augmented reality, it can be concluded that augmented reality is very valid criteria which means it is very good for use in learning with a percentage of 90.25% of media experts, 88.75% from material experts, and 86.5% from small group trials. Researchers recommend using this material as a learning resource for Information Technology courses that can be accessed on the Halu Oleo University website. Researchers also suggest making augmented reality as part of the learning materials developed.
