Abstract

Abstract

Providing legal aid in rural areas is a crucial effort to ensure access to justice for all levels of society, especially for those who are less fortunate. Key opportunities for providing legal aid in rural areas include increasing legal awareness, strengthening community participation in legal processes, and increasing local capacity through legal education. Legal assistance in rural areas can also strengthen social cohesion and speed up the resolution of local and customary-based disputes. However, the challenges faced in providing legal aid in rural areas are not small. These challenges include limited human resources who are competent in the legal field, limited infrastructure and accessibility, as well as low levels of legal literacy among rural residents. In addition, difficulties in integrating the formal legal system with local customary law also add to the complexity of providing legal assistance. A deep understanding of the local context and approaches that adapt to the specific needs of rural communities are needed to address these challenges. This research discusses the opportunities and challenges that exist in providing legal aid in rural areas with a focus on providing inclusive and sustainable services. The strategic recommendations offered include improving legal education, strengthening cooperation networks between government, non-government organizations and local communities, as well as developing a more equitable legal infrastructure. A participatory and community-based approach is expected to increase the effectiveness of legal aid and ensure that justice can be accessed by all citizens, regardless of their geographical location.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, with a wide variety of wildlife living in a variety of habitats, from tropical rainforests to oceans. Iconic wildlife includes iconic wildlife such as the Sumatran Tiger, Orangutan, Javan Rhino, Komodo dragon, and bird of paradise. However, this diversity is threatened by human activities such as poaching, illegal trade, deforestation and habitat destruction. To protect this biodiversity, law enforcement is needed against perpetrators of wildlife trade crimes, which are regulated in Law Number 5 of 1990. This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of law enforcement for perpetrators of wildlife trade crimes and encourage improvements in existing legal practices. This research uses the normative legal research method, this research focuses on analyzing legal documents and sources. This method involves the study of various legal sources, such as laws, court decisions, contracts, legal theories, and experts' views. The results of this study show that the police have been quite good at investigating and arresting perpetrators, as well as continuing the legal process in accordance with Law No. 5 of 1990. The forest rangers are responsible for forest monitoring and community education on wildlife conservation, while the BKSDA identifies the condition of confiscated animals and is involved in conservation and education efforts..

Abstract

Forest and land fires (Karhutla) are recurring ecological disasters in vulnerable regions such as Indragiri Hilir Regency. One of the main triggers is the lack of public awareness regarding land ownership legality and weak legal literacy in land administration. This study aims to enhance community legal awareness through legal education activities on the importance of land registration administration and law-based land management as a preventive measure against Karhutla. The method employed is a qualitative participatory approach through field observation, discussion, and evaluation during a community service program in Teluk Dalam Village, Kuala Indragiri District. Participants included village officials, community leaders, and land users. The findings show increased understanding among participants regarding land registration procedures, legal sanctions for land burning, and the importance of legality in securing land rights. The interactive discussions also revealed a shift in public attitude towards traditional land clearing by burning. This study concludes that community-based legal education is an effective approach to developing sustainable legal awareness in fire-prone areas.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in sustaining local products and driving rural economic growth. This study aims to analyze the empowerment of the cassava cracker MSME in Kelumpang Village, Gaung Anak Serka District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The assistance strategy includes brand identity creation, packaging development, business legalization, and digital marketing optimization through Shopee and TikTok Shop platforms. A case study approach was used with qualitative methods including field observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that prior to the intervention, the MSME lacked brand identity, used basic packaging, was not officially registered, and had no digital presence. Post-intervention, the MSME gained a strong brand identity, attractive packaging, legal business status, and active online sales accounts reaching markets beyond the local area. Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the main pillars of the economy, contributing significantly to community welfare, including coconut-based palm sugar producers. However, they often face problems such as simple packaging, the absence of a brand identity, lack of business legality, and reliance on traditional marketing strategies, which limit product competitiveness. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of palm sugar producers by providing training and mentoring in four key areas: hygienic and attractive product packaging, the creation of a local brand with consumer appeal, assistance in obtaining business legality through the issuance of a Business Identification Number (NIB), and the use of digital marketing strategies through social media and marketplaces. The method applied was Participatory Action Research (PAR), directly involving MSME actors at every stage from problem identification, planning, implementation, to evaluation. The results showed improved technical skills, the establishment of the local brand “Gula Juruh Angah Unggal,” the successful issuance of a business license (NIB), and the adoption of digital marketing strategies tested through sales at a local bazaar with positive consumer responses. In conclusion, this program effectively enhanced the competitiveness of palm sugar MSMEs, although sustainability requires further mentoring, halal certification, and stronger marketing networks.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the economy, particularly in preserving the sustainability of regional traditional products. However, limited branding and digital marketing often become obstacles in business development. This study aims to analyze the assistance provided to “Dodol Ibu Lina,” a traditional dodol producer from Lahang Baru Village, Gaung District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, through strategies including logo and brand identity creation, packaging development, business legalization, as well as the creation and optimization of online sales accounts on Shopee and TikTok Shop. The research method used is a case study approach with field observations, interviews, and documentation. The results show that prior to the assistance, Dodol Ibu Lina was marketed conventionally through word-of-mouth promotion, using plain plastic packaging without labels, having no logo, not being officially registered as an MSME, and not utilizing online marketing. After the assistance, the business successfully obtained a clear brand identity, cardboard packaging with attractive designs and product information, a registered location on Google Maps, official business permits, and active online sales accounts with integrated digital promotion strategies. These changes expanded the market reach from only.

The results showed an increased awareness of MSME actors regarding the importance of business identity through logo design, improved and more hygienic packaging, and the utilization of digital platforms such as social media for product promotion.
