Abstract

LPS liquidated about 100 people's Rural Banks between 2015 and 2019, indicating that these banks are facing significant issues, particularly financial distress. This study seeks to forecast financial distress through a two-stage classification and regression approach. Researchers used financial report data from Rural Banks in Indonesia from 2015 to 2019, covering a total of 150 banks, with 50 financial ratios from bankrupt banks and 100 from those that remained operational. Data was analyzed for two consecutive years prior to any bankruptcy declarations. The classification targets are categorized into five classes: very healthy, healthy, quite healthy, unhealthy, and distressed. The study results demonstrate that the two-stage classification and regression method can effectively predict the onset of financial distress. This is validated by the classification outcomes using the Decision Tree Algorithm, which achieved an f1-score accuracy of 88%. The evaluation of timing predictions using Random Forest Regression revealed a mean absolute error of 1.2 months and a mean absolute percentage error of 3%. These predictions can assist regulators, bank management, and investors in making better-informed decisions to address financial distress risks in Rural Banks. The superior performance of the Decision Tree Algorithm over Naïve Bayes in classifying financial distress highlights the potential of machine learning techniques in providing robust tools for early warning systems, aiding stakeholders in making informed decisions to mitigate risks.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the remuneration policy and its impact on lecturer performance at State Islamic Universities in Indonesia. The policy, initiated by the central government as a form of recognition for lecturers' professionalism, is assessed using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. A qualitative approach was employed to comprehensively analyze the policy’s contextual background, resource allocation, implementation processes, and outcomes. Data was collected through document analysis and in-depth interviews with key mid-level stakeholders, including deans, members of the internal supervisory unit, the quality assurance team, the planning and finance bureau, the finance department, and the personnel bureau. The data were analyzed using a descriptive method involving data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the remuneration policy positively influences lecturers’ performance, particularly in fulfilling the three pillars of Indonesian higher education: education, research, and community service. This study provides valuable insights for university leaders and policymakers in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of remuneration policy implementation to support institutional advancement.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to obtain objective data regarding the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling the habit of congregational prayer at MIN 11 Banda Aceh. The main focus of this research is to examine how Islamic religious education is implemented at the school and to what extent teachers contribute to developing the habit of congregational prayer among students.  The research employs an inductive qualitative method, with data collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires. The findings indicate that Islamic religious education at MIN 11 Banda Aceh has been implemented under the established curriculum. Its implementation includes the foundations of Islamic religious education, learning objectives, and teaching strategies designed to foster students’ religious character.  In efforts to instill the habit of congregational prayer, PAI teachers play three main roles: as trainers, role models, and disciplinarians. Among these roles, only two have been effective—serving as trainers and role models. Meanwhile, the disciplinarian role has been less successful, as students are not subjected to sanctions for failing to perform congregational prayers. Nevertheless, the school has established a rule that when the zuhr adhan is called, all teaching and learning activities must be paused to allow students to perform congregational prayers.
