Abstract

Students' engagement and passion for studying are shaped by their areas of interest. But the fact is that pupils still show very little enthusiasm for studying. Our goal in creating this medium is to provide fourth graders with a high-quality instructional film that will supplement their social studies curriculum. Using the six steps of the ASSURE model—which include student analysis, establishing learning objectives, selecting methods, media, and materials, implementing the model, encouraging student participation, and finally, evaluation and improvement—this learning video media was developed. Students in fourth grade at SDN Pakis V were the topic of this educational film. The creation of this video medium was deemed suitable for use in the fourth grade social studies curriculum. This is derived from the validation findings of specialists in the field of media and materials, as well as students working alone, in small groups, or in big format. The efficacy of this learning video medium was assessed using a posttest after expert and student testing. Students were able to get outcomes higher than the designated KKM when tested using this learning video medium. As a result, creating educational video content is a fruitful endeavour.

Abstract

This study explores the role of local wisdom in traditional herbal medicine processing among the Sasak community in Lombok, Indonesia. The focus is on the extraction techniques used by traditional healers (belian), especially their selection of specific woods for the heating process to preserve the stability of bioactive compounds. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving experienced traditional practitioners. The findings show that belian possess inherited empirical knowledge that integrates technical, ecological, and spiritual considerations. This includes selecting herbal plants based on environmental quality, using sustainable harvesting methods, and applying low-heat boiling techniques to prevent degradation of sensitive compounds such as flavonoids and alkaloids. Additionally, spiritual rituals and intuitive practices accompany the preparation process, reflecting a holistic healing philosophy. The study reveals that these traditional methods align with modern principles of sustainable and effective herbal extraction. The integration of traditional knowledge with scientific understanding presents an opportunity to develop culturally rooted, low-cost, and environmentally friendly healthcare solutions. The preservation and documentation of this local wisdom are essential for future generations and the advancement of ethnopharmacological science.

Abstract

Mareje Village is located in Lembar District, West Lombok Regency. It is known for its natural beauty, encompassing several tourist attractions, and for its distinctive character, surrounded by vast expanses of rice fields. Despite its immense potential, the village faces challenges in developing a culture of reading and literacy among its residents. To address this challenge, the Community Service Program (KKN-PMD) aims to increase reading and literacy among the Mareje community through various approaches and innovations. The KKN-PMD program emphasizes building a strong literacy foundation, contributing to human resource development and improving the community’s quality of life. Through the development of a community-based library, the provision of quality reading materials, and literacy training, it is hoped that the Mareje community will have good access to information and knowledge. This activity is also expected to encourage a high level of reading interest among various groups, strengthen literacy skills, and create an environment that supports continuous learning. The KKN-PMD program will be implemented for seven weeks, starting from July 8 to August 21, 2025, with the involvement of students and library management as the main facilitators, as well as active participation from the Mareje Village community in every activity with a total of 288 effective student working hours (JKEM). Overall, this KKN-PMD work program not only aims to increase the love of reading in Mareje Village, but also to create collective awareness of the importance of literacy in building a smarter and more competitive community. With collaboration between students and the community, Mareje Village can become a successful example in developing a sustainable reading culture.

Abstract

Mamaq by the ancestors of the Sasak people was an activity of chewing betel nut, lime, betel leaf, and tobacco, and ending with shrinkage. Betel leaves contain glycosides, steroids, triterpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, and anthraquinones. These compounds contain antimicrobial activity that can fight Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans fungi. Meanwhile, whiting is a strong base because it has a pH of 11-12.5. This is because in the mouth there is saliva which can maintain a pH of around 6.8. Saliva contains phosphate buffer solutions H2PO4- and HPO42-. And gambir contains a component in the form of catechins which function as antioxidants and antibacterials. The purpose of this research is to study philosophical values, especially epistemology, which investigates the origin, and composition of methods and knowledge related to mamaq philosophy and natural science concepts, especially chemistry, and compounds, and what reactions occur in the mamaq process that has not been revealed. The study uses the library method. From the results of thestudy, it was concluded that in addition to the philosophy in the ingredients for mamaq it can also be described the chemical compounds contained in the ingredients for mamaq, starting from whiting, green betel leaf, gambier, and areca nut.
