Abstract

The background of this research is that social studies learning in schools is also not optimal in implementing and familiarizing the experience of democratic, social life values by involving students and the school community in various class and school activities. The purpose of this study is to identify the implementation of the role playing learning method which is still an obstacle in creating effective learning. This is what still causes learning to not be able to achieve the expected goals. The description above is an illustration of how important it is to create active and fun student learning. The research method used is quantitative method with a type of correlation, data collection techniques through questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques through the normality test, simple linear regression test. The results of this study show that the constant value is 14.663, systematically this constant value states that when the value of role playing is 0, cooperation skills have a value of 14.663. While the regression coefficient line is 0.748, the positive value results illustrate that the direction of the relationship between the role playing variable and the cooperation skills variable is unidirectional, thus the regression equation can be written Y = 14.663 + 0.748 x. This means that the value of 0.748 is the change in the regression line, where each unit of the value of the X variable will be followed by a change in the Y value of 0.748

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of these students which can hinder the development of learning and is a threat to the progress of learning so that it must be handled appropriately. Parents and teachers are required to be able to overcome this. The research objective is to identify the efforts that can be made to realize national education goals through educational institutions known as schools. One of the subjects developed in schools is Social Sciences education. The research method used qualitative method with qualitative descriptive type, data collection techniques by observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of the research show that the low learning motivation of students in the pandemic era made teachers determined to maximize their role as teachers in order to help students increase their learning motivation. This is not spared from the various ways that teachers use so that students' learning motivation can increase including, namely, making students active in learning activities carried out online or online, diluting the class atmosphere, making learning methods that are good and not boring, especially in learning in the new normal era as it is today.

Abstract

The role of the teacher, especially in this case, the social studies teacher, is required to be able to organize classes in accordance with the expectations and demands of society. Teachers must be able to analyze the various dynamics that occur in the classroom. One of the activities carried out by the teacher is to carry out the process of growing self-efficacy in students, especially for students who experience learning difficulties. The research approach uses quantitative research methods, such as the quasi-experimental design, and the research design uses a nonequivalent control group design. Then the purposeful or judgmental sampling technique. Research data collection techniques using tests identified through pretests and posttests and non-tests through observation, interviews, and documentation studies Data validation analysis techniques use validity tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and normalized gain tests. The results of the study show that based on the results of data analysis and statistical calculations using Microsoft Excel 2019, there is no significant difference in pre-test results between the experimental class and the control class before learning begins. Based on the results of the data analysis after the teacher played a role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in social studies subjects, there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class after learning took place. In this way, social studies teachers play a role in supporting students' self-efficacy.

Abstract

The critical thinking ability of seventh-grade students in class VII-I at SMPN 2 Samarang is still relatively low, especially in social studies learning. This is evident from the pre-cycle critical thinking ability test results, which were 43%. This may be due to the use of the lecture model in teaching, which does not actively involve students in the learning process. The Purpose of this research is to improve students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning by implementing the Problem-Based Learning model for class VII-I students at SMPN 2 Samarang. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles with four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique involves comparing students' critical thinking abilities between the first and second cycles, illustrated by test results conducted at the end of each learning session.. The results of the Classroom Action Research (CAR) indicate that in the first cycle, students' critical thinking skills improved to 57% with an average score of 69,6. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the percentage of critical thinking ability increased to 86% with an average score of 80,4. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model can enhance students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning for class VII-I at SMPN 2 Samarang.

Abstract

The background to the problem in this research is the importance of multicultural education in shaping students' understanding and attitudes towards cultural diversity in the era of globalization. However, the challenge of teaching this concept effectively and interestingly remains an obstacle in many schools. This research aims to examine the effect of using Canva-based poster media on understanding multicultural concepts in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Garut. The research design used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group pre-test and post-test design to measure students' understanding before and after using the media. The sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group using Canva-based posters and a control group using Power Point media. Based on the results of the statistical analysis carried out, the initial abilities of the two groups resulted in the same abilities. Meanwhile, the final test results obtained a Sig.2-tailed value of 0.049 and an α of 0.05, meaning 0.049 < 0.05, so the HO was rejected. This shows a significant increase in understanding of multicultural concepts in the experimental class compared to the control class.

Abstract

The low level of student creativity in history learning, particularly regarding the topic of Indonesian independence during the 1945–1950 period, served as the background for this research. This is indicated by the lack of originality, flexibility, and elaboration skills in thinking and expressing ideas. The aim of this study is to describe the implementation of Canva-based Mind Mapping as a learning model, analyze the improvement in students' creativity, and identify obstacles and solutions in applying this method. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles conducted in Class IX of MTs. Ma’arif Peundeuy Garut. The instruments used included observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The results showed that the application of Canva-based Mind Mapping significantly improved students' creativity, as evidenced by their enhanced ability to express ideas, create engaging visualizations, and convey information systematically. These findings indicate that the use of digital media such as Canva can be an innovative and effective alternative for fostering student creativity.
