Abstract

This paper is a study related to the Indonesian Women's Ulama Congress (KUPI) and its religious views through an Islamic feminist anthropology approach. This is because the discussion on KUPI hasn’t been captured through this approach. In fact, by this approach, the problems surrounding women can be seen in more depth and detail. By using primary data from observations and secondary data from literature reviews, the results found that KUPI or the Indonesian Women's Ulama Congress is a women's organization in Indonesia that brings together various individual backgrounds to study women's problems based on Islamic teachings that are mutabadil. Through discussions, halaqoh and religious meetings, the first KUPI congress in Cirebon produced three religious views while the second congress in Jepara produced five religious views and several recommendations regarding the protection of women from religious extremism, forced marriages, dangers of pregnancies due to settlement, genital injuries, and issues environment. KUPI activities are cultural in nature. Participants who come from various backgrounds bring facts and data in the field to be interacted with in order to realize human reason, mind and power which then shape culture and find an Islamic religion that is moderate, gender fair and provides human welfare.

Abstract

This article examines the dynamics transformation of Sufism in the modern era. Sufism in the modern era appears running into transformation both in terms of its concept and movement. From the aspect of the concept of Sufism, modern Sufism is running into a transformation, namely neo-Sufism. Likewise, in the network aspect of the Sufism movement in the modern era, Sufism moves dynamically, from a local movement to becoming a network of transnational Islamic movements. This research is qualitative research using transnationalism theory as an analytical tool and historical studies as an approach. In this research, at least two findings were found. First, the presence of neo-Sufism is a form of transformation of classical Sufism teachings. The concept of neo-Sufism tends to be balanced (tawazun) between exoteric and esoteric aspects and can be a spiritual alternative for urban Muslim communities. Second, modern Sufism can be categorized as a representation of a transnational Islamic movement, as a non-governmental movement structured across countries in terms of thought, spiritual and political movements. The main route behind the transnational Islamic movement of Sufism is through da'wah, trade and immigrants. Keywords: Sufism, Neo-Sufism, Transnationalism, Transformative

Abstract

This research aims to determine the provincial priorities for the development of the mosque-based ZISWAF ecosystem by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on texts, expressions, and behaviors of resource persons to explore the potential of mosques and the potential for economic and financial empowerment of the people. The study uses a structured interview method to identify key areas on the islands of Java and Sumatra, specifically highlighting East Java, West Java, Jakarta, Aceh, and South Java, as well as additional regions like East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and Bali. The results of the study also show that there are differences, advantages, and disadvantages of UPZ and MPZ both in terms of legality, institutional, work patterns, operations, sustainability, and fund distribution flows. There are four clusters of challenges faced by Bank BSI in efforts to develop the mosque and mosque ecosystem in Indonesia, namely, the human resources of amil and nazhir mosques, worshippers and residents around mosques (government regulations and budgets), and the legality of mosque LPZs (local government budgets). The study also shows that there is a significant difference in the quality of mosque management based on dimensions, variables, and indicators on the existing mosque index. It is hoped that the use of this instrument can make it easier for Bank FSI to develop a mosque and its ecosystem for the progress and welfare of people and the nation.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of cybermedia on urban tasawuf (Islamic mysticism) in Indonesia, focusing on its adaptation to digital platforms and the emergence of a digital religious atmosphere. A qualitative approach grounded in constructivist and interpretivist paradigms was employed. Data were collected through scholarly literature and digital sources, and analyzed thematically to examine key themes, including typologies of urban tasawuf (orthodox, marginal, modern Sufism fellowship) and their interactions with digital media. The findings reveal that urban tasawuf integrates seamlessly with digital technology, enhancing accessibility and fostering spiritual communities. For instance, the tarekat Qudusiyah uses Zoom for dzikr, and the Shift movement integrates youth culture with tasawuf. This adaptation has facilitated the emergence of a uniquely Indonesian expression of digital religion. Urban tasawuf reflects a transformative shift in religious practices through digital adaptation. However, challenges such as one-directional engagement and diluted sacredness pose risks to the depth of spiritual practices. Future research should explore specific phenomena within the paradigm of digital religion, focusing on long-term impacts on religious identity and spirituality.

It is also related to the use of wealth for wants rather than needs, while human desires are unlimited. This study aims to review the impulse buying behavior and its factors, furthermore, how Islamic consumption norms can lead to resolve the behavior, particularly from Monzer Kahf perspective. The analytical method in this research is literature study by presenting related datas and theories arranged systematically. The results of this study indicate that impulse buying behavior is in contrast to the concept of Islamic consumption norms, as has been explained in detail by one of the 20th century Islamic economists, Monzer Kahf.

Abstract

The decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict has become one of the most complex and significant geopolitical issues, with far-reaching implications for political stability in the Middle East. This study aims to identify the roots of the conflict, the factors that influence it, and its impact on the region's governance system and political institutions. This study uses qualitative methods with a descriptive-analytical approach, which provides an in-depth understanding of both parties' internal dynamics and the conflict's impact on regional stability. The results show that the governance systems of both countries play an important role in this dynamic. Israel can maintain stability through a parliamentary democratic system supported by checks and balances mechanisms. In contrast, in Palestine, along with the continuing occupation by Israel and the absence of sovereignty, a dualism of power has emerged, namely the Palestinian National Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza. This dualism has triggered internal fragmentation that has hampered the effectiveness of government and added to the complexity of efforts to achieve independence. Furthermore, this conflict has also caused political instability at the regional level and complicated the foreign policies of countries in the region.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are currently a sector that plays an important role in increasing economic stability in Indonesia. However, one of the crucial obstacles related to the development of micro businesses is limited capital and low access to sources of capital. Sharia securities crowdfunding is a form of innovation in the field of financial technology that offers alternative solutions for MSME players in obtaining funding. However, sharia securities crowdfunding is not without risk analysis. Some of the other risks of crowdfunding are inadequate regulatory and regulatory frameworks, low public awareness and trust, and the risk of dehumanization that has potential to occur in crowdfunding due to a lack of communication between fundraisers and funders. Meanwhile, the advantages of investing in Sharia SCF are that there is no collateral obligation to obtain funding, easier access to capital, and companies and investors can monitor the progress of the Crowdfunding being carried out. Sharia securities crowdfunding is also considered the best alternative when SMEs struggle to have access to traditional funding, this is because crowdfunding is able to provide speed and accessibility.

Abstract

The lack of records about the involvement and contribution of women in Sufism texts cannot be used as an excuse that women have a small role and position in the development and dissemination of Sufism teachings, doctrines, and practices. Of the two female Sufi names, namely Rabi’ah and Aishah al-Ba’uniyyah, two big names prove that women have equal opportunities in achieving spiritual knowledge. Therefore, the writer is interested in female Sufis, especially in Western countries, where so far, many writers have focused on female Sufis in the eastern world, therefore it is very interesting to study female Sufis in the Western world and to answer questions. about; Aren’t their women in the world of Sufism? Is it true that the world of Sufism belongs entirely to men only? This paper is a paper using a qualitative descriptive approach. The author uses a literature review with the data sources used in this paper are secondary data originating from the literature such as books, journals, articles, and various sources relevant to the theme of the discussion in this paper. Abstract
