Abstract

This study evaluates the availability and condition of child-friendly infrastructure in RW.10 Pekalipan Village, Cirebon City, as part of the implementation of the Child-Friendly City Program (KLA).  The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) by involving the community, village officials, and academics in the process of identifying issues, mapping potential, and implementing infrastructure development actions. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and document studies.  The results of the study show that the child-friendly infrastructure in Pekalipan Village is quite adequate, including health facilities, education, green open spaces, and playgrounds. The local government has made efforts to improve public facilities and encourage community participation in development planning and evaluation. However, there are still challenges such as equitable distribution of facilities, the need for renovation, and the need to increase children's participation in the development process.  This research emphasizes the importance of cross-sector collaboration and collaborative governance models to optimize KLA development. The resulting policy implications include the need to strengthen regulations, routine maintenance of facilities, and the active involvement of children and the community. These findings are in line with a recent study that highlights the importance of continuous evaluation and innovation in the development of child-friendly cities in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research analyzed survey data from 204 Cirebon City residents to investigate the associations between education level, job suitability, and employment sector. Education was classified as primary, secondary, high school, or university education. Job suitability compares respondents’ education to the typical qualifications needed for their current role. Outcomes included the sector of employment in fields such as services, manufacturing, finance, technology, and others. The results showed that higher education levels and greater alignment between schooling and occupation were associated with more employment in high-skilled sectors, such as finance and technology. Those with a university education and high education-job match tended to work in professional sectors. The findings indicate strong links between academic credentials, the occupational relevance of education, and securing jobs in skilled sectors. This study provides insights that can help shape policies that promote schooling and employment congruence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital banking adoption on the financial performance of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia and to examine the moderating role of risk management effectiveness. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from the financial statements of 12 Islamic commercial banks during 2021–2023, resulting in 36 observations. Data were analyzed using panel data regression, and the Random Effect Model was selected as the most appropriate model based on the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The results show that digital banking adoption has a positive but insignificant effect on financial performance, indicating that the benefits of digitalization have not been fully realized during the observation period. Risk management effectiveness also shows a negative and insignificant direct effect on financial performance. However, the interaction between digital banking adoption and risk management effectiveness demonstrates a positive and significant influence, suggesting that well-managed risk practices strengthen the impact of digital banking on profitability. These findings emphasize that digitalization alone is insufficient to enhance financial performance without strong and effective risk management systems supporting its implementation.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the influence of frugal living, allowance, and purchasing power on migrant students' expenditure levels, with consumption patterns as a mediating variable. The study is motivated by the financial constraints commonly experienced by migrant students in managing limited resources to meet daily needs. Methodology – A quantitative research design was employed. The population consisted of migrant students in Cirebon City, with 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Findings – The results indicate that frugal living, allowance, and purchasing power significantly affect expenditure levels, both directly and indirectly through consumption patterns (p < 0.05). Consumption patterns have a significant impact on expenditure and act as a mediating variable, strengthening the relationship between frugal living, allowance, purchasing power, and expenditure. These findings suggest that expenditure behavior among migrant students is influenced not only by financial capacity but also by frugal attitudes and priority-based consumption. Novelty – This study offers originality by incorporating frugal living and consumption patterns as key variables in explaining student expenditure, extending previous research that primarily focused on income-related factors. Significance – The findings provide practical insights for migrant students in managing personal finances and serve as a reference for educational institutions and policymakers in designing effective financial literacy and student welfare programs.
