Abstract

The aims of this reaserch were explain the influence of mind mapping cooperative learning and learning motivation toward students learning outcomes about biology of IX grade student at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. This was a quantitative descriptive research with quasi experiment method. The taking of sample was done through random sampling. Each of groups consist of two class. The technique of data analysis used multiple regression. The result of data analysis indicate that partialy it was obtained X1 significant probability value was 0,00 < 0,05 and X2 significant probability value was 0,00 < 0,05. Simultane indicate the significant probability value was 0,00 < 0,05 so that mind mapping cooperative learning and learning motivation influence sinificantly toward the learning outcomes in biology either simultane and partial.

Abstract

Pada era digitalisasi perlu adanya adaptasi media evalusi pembelajaran yang dapat menjangkau perkembangan mutakhir salah satunya dengan menggunakan platform gamifikasi. Platform gamifikasi memberikan kesempatan guru untuk berkolaborasi dalam pembuatan soal evaluasi sehingga dapat mempermudah dan  membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan kompetensi digital guru dalam menggunakan platform gamifikasi. Hal itu dimaksudkan agar memudahkan guru dalam membuat media evaluasi pembelajaran secara online. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, maka perlu dilakukan pendekatan berupa pendampingan bagi guru. Kegiatan pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan platform gamifikasi seperti aplikasi Quizizz, aplikasi Kahoot dan aplikasi Wordwall untuk mempermudah dan mempercepat proses evaluasi pembelajaran secara online. Kegiatan pendampingan ini dihadiri oleh 25 peserta orang guru di SD Inpres Palupi. Materi yang diberikan pada kegiatan pendampingan ini mulai dari pengenalan platform gamifikasi hingga cara pembuatan soal evaluasi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi tersebut. Dengan adanya kegiatan pendampingan ini maka diharapkan guru telah mampu menggunakan platform gamifikasi dan menerapkannya pada proses pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Pembelajaran laboratorium pada dasarnya dapat dimodifikasi melalui inovasi dan kreasi guru mata pelajaran, namun tetap mengacu pada tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang bersinggungan dengan aktivitas praktikum laboratorium adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL). Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberi pelatihan kepada guru IPA SMP Negeri Kota Palu dalam merencanakan model PBL berbasis laboratorium. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2024 bertempat di SMP Negeri 15. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan meliputi penyampaian materi oleh narasumber dan dilanjutkan dengan praktik pembuatan modul ajar yang dipandu langsung oleh narasumber sebagai instruktur. Sehingga diharapkan peserta dapat membuat modul ajar dengan baik sesuai model pembelajaran PBL berbasis laboratorium. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah disusunnya sebuah modul ajar mata pelajaran IPA fase D oleh guru yang menjadi peserta pelatihan. Selain itu, modul ajar yang dihasilkan memuat unsur model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL), khusus aktivitas praktikum yang dilaksanakan di laboratorium. Pihak MGMP IPA Kota Palu mengharapkan kegiatan serupa dapat terus dilakukan, dengan menyajikan informasi terbaru terkait inovasi yang dapat dilakukan dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya dalam mata pelajaran IPA. Sehingga, guru dapat menyajikan bentuk-bentuk pembelajaran yang bervariasi sesuai dengan konten dan tujuan pembelajaran

Abstract

This research aims to identify the learning difficulties of 8th-grade students in Science (Biology) at SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This type of research is descriptive. The subjects in this research were all students of classes VIII A and VIII B, consisting of 46 students. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire on factors influencing students' learning difficulties. The results of the study showed that the average internal difficulty factor for the "agree" response was 27%, while "disagree" was 73%. For the external difficulty factor, the "agree" response was 31%, while "disagree" was 69%. These results indicate that students' learning difficulties are classified as high in both internal and external factors. Therefore, it can be concluded that both external and internal factors significantly contribute to the high level of learning difficulties in the Science subject at SMP Negeri 19 Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning learning model on critical thinking skills and creativity in biology subjects at SMA Negeri 4 Palu. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental type. The population in this study was 400 people and the sample in this study was 70 people. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, and the research sample was 2 classes consisting of class XC and XJ. The data collection technique in this study was using a test in the form of a Post-test and observation sheet. Data analysis used prerequisite tests, namely, normality tests and homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing using independent sample-t tests. The results of the study indicate that (1) students' critical thinking skills had a significant average score in class XJ as the experimental class, namely 85.66, and class XD as the control class, namely 77.14. (2) The results of observing students' creativity in the experimental class yielded a score of 84.66, with 80-100% falling into the “very creative” category, while the control class scored 76.14, with 61-80% falling into the “creative” category. (3) The Project-Based Learning (PBL) model has a significant impact on critical thinking skills and creativity in biology lessons at SMA Negeri 4 Palu. This is evidenced by the t-test results, which show a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05.

Abstract

Apis dorsata is a giant honeybee species distributed across South and Southeast Asia. Phylogenetic analysis is used to illustrate the evolutionary relationships of organisms through a phylogenetic tree. This study aims to describe the genetic relationships of A. dorsata based on the cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene. Sampling was conducted using an exploratory method in various regions, followed by DNA isolation, DNA amplification, sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis using GeneStudio, DNASTAR, MESQUITE, and MEGA 11. The results show that phylogenetic analysis using the Neighbor-Joining (NJ) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) methods produced a phylogenetic tree that clearly depicts evolutionary relationships. A. dorsata from Central Sulawesi is more closely related to other A. dorsata species within the same internal cluster, while other species are separated. These findings reveal a clear pattern of genetic relationships among A. dorsata populations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the presence of Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. in "ayam geprek" products sold at the canteens of Tadulako University. The type of research used is descriptive-exploratory with quantitative examination methods using the Most Probable Number (MPN), Total Plate Count (TPC), and further identification using the Microbact System and Microbact System 2000 Software. Samples were taken from three different faculty canteens using a stratified random sampling technique. The results showed that (1) Test using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method obtained the highest value of 150x102 CFU / ml came from the FMIPA canteen sample, 28x102 CFU / ml samples from the FKIP canteen and the lowest value of 27x102 CFU / ml samples from the FKIP canteen. (2) Test using the Total PlateCount (TPC) method obtained the highest value of 105x103 CFU / ml came from the FMIPA canteen sample, 217x102 CFU / ml FKIP canteen sample, and the lowest value of 120x102 CFU / ml FKIP canteen sample. (3) Validation identification of the percentage of samples showing contamination by Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp., with a validation level above 90%. Thus, all samples in this study were positive for the presence of Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. bacteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of mangrove species in Lalombi Village, to determine the feasibility of the results of research on mangrove plant species in Lalombi Village, South Banawa District. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive research type and location determination using purposive sampling techniques which are divided into 3 observation stations. Data collection using a modified path method into a transect with zigzag plot placement. The plot used is a tiered plot type with a plot size of 10 × 10 meters for tree observation, a 5 × 5 meter plot for sapling observation, and a 1 × 1 meter plot for sapling observation. This research was conducted in Lalombi Village, South Banawa District, Donggala Regency in September 2024. The results of this study indicate that there are 6 types of mangrove plants in Lalombi Village, namely: Sonneratia alba Smith, Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (L) Lamk, Ceriops decandra (Griff) Ding Hou, Lumnitzera littorea (Jack) Voigt, Avicennia officinalis L, with a moderate level of diversity (1.76).

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes by utilizing discovery learning-based animated video media using a scientific learning approach in science subjects of class VIII A at SMP Negeri 4 Sindue. The sample in this study were VIII A class students totaling 15 people. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK), data analysis techniques are qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on the results of research on the utilization of animation media, it shows an increase in student learning outcomes to reach the predetermined completeness of 75%. The percentage of students' classical learning completeness in cycle I only reached 6.7% while in cycle II it reached 82.67%, this shows a significant increase. The percentage of teacher activity in the application of this learning method reached 88.23% in cycle I while in cycle II it reached 93.39% with a very good predicate. In addition, the percentage of student activity in cycle I reached 88.23% and in cycle II reached 93.39% with a very good predicate. This increase in student activity contributed significantly to the increase in learning outcomes, because students became more active, interested and understood the material well. This research implies that animation media can be used as an innovative alternative for teachers to increase student involvement and learning outcomes in science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of the model Learning Cycle 7E learning assisted by powtoon media on the activities and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palu. The population in this study were all students of class X of SMA Negeri 4 Palu totaling 400 students spread across class X by taking a sample of 25% of the total, namely 70 students. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, and the research sample was 2 classes consisting of class XE and XG. Data collection techniques used learning outcome tests and observation sheets. The results showed that there was a significant influence of student learning activities between the experimental class given the Learning Cycle 7E learning model treatment and the control class given the conventional learning model treatment. This is shown by the calculation of the observation sheet of student learning activities, student psychomotor activities and student affective activities in the experimental class getting a score of 83.54 percentage 81-100% very good category while in the control class getting a score of 77.64 percentage 61-80% good category and the average value of significant learning outcomes in class XE as an experimental class 82.20 and class XG as a control class 77.34. In addition, it is proven by the results of the hypothesis test (t-test), obtained a sig value in class X which is 0.00 <0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by Powtoon media has a significant effect on the activities and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palu.
