Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between learning styles, learning independence, and learning interest with biology learning outcomes among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 5 Palu. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 176 students were selected using proportional random sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires and documentation of biology scores. Data analysis involved validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed a significant relationship between learning style (r = 0.668), learning independence (r = 0.747), and learning interest (r = 0.732) with biology learning outcomes (p < 0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that the three variables simultaneously influenced learning outcomes, with the regression equation Y = 9.771 + 0.502X₁ + 0.314X₂ + 0.357X₃ and R² = 0.656. This indicates that the three independent variables contribute 65.6% to the variance in biology learning outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of internal student characteristics in academic achievement, especially in biology learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the use of biology laboratories on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Tikke Raya. This type of research uses a quantitative quasi-experimental design using a pretest and posttest control group design. Quantitative data are in the form of measurement results of student learning outcomes. The population in this study were all 145 students of class X of SMA Negeri 1 Tikke Raya. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, and the sample in this study was 2 classes consisting of class X1 as the Experimental Class and X2 as the control class. Data collection techniques used observation and tests. The results showed that the use of biology laboratories proved to be more effective in improving the learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Tikke Raya compared to conventional methods. The results of the analysis showed an increase in both groups, but the experimental group obtained significantly higher post-test scores, indicating that the use of laboratories had a positive effect on biology learning outcomes.

Abstract

Era digital ditandai dengan perkembangan Teknologi dan Informasi secara global dan signifikan. Perkembangan ini memungkinkan kita untuk perlu mengoptimalkan pemanfaatannya dalam bidang Pendidikan. Pemanfaatan ini dapat berupa adaptasi media untuk assesmen pembelajaran agar dapat mengikuti perkembangan teknologi dan informasi salah satunya dengan menggunakan platform aplikasi Kahoot. Kahoot memberikan kemudahan dan kesempatan bagi guru untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan bagi peserta didik karena menekankan pada gaya belajar yang melibatkan hubungan peran aktif partisipasi peserta didik dan rekan-rekan sejawatnya secara kompetitif terhadap pembelajaran yang mereka lakukan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan kompetensi guru menggunakan platform Kahoot dalam membuat assesmen pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan efisien. Pelatihan dihadiri oleh para guru SD Inpres 10 Talise dan dilakukan dalam 4 tahap yaitu observasi, pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pelatihan sangat direspon dengan baik oleh peserta yang ditandai dengan keaktifan dan kegembiraan selama mengikuti pelatihan, demonstrasi dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan yaitu para guru memperoleh kemampuan baru dalam menggunakan dan membuat kuis dengan platform Kahoot yang terbukti dengan adanya akun yang telah dibuat para guru. Akhirnya melalui pelatihan penggunaan Kahoot mampu memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru kepada para guru untuk mengikuti perkembangan era digital sehingga dapat meningkatkan literasi digital serta menciptakan kondisi kelas yang lebih menyenangkan dan memberikan kemudahan dalam melakukan assesmen pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Effective learning must accommodate the unique needs of each learner. The combination of differentiated learning with PBL has not been widely revealed. This study aims to see the effect of differentiated learning through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on student learning achievement. The research method used was a quasi-experiment using control and experimental classes. Data was collected through pretest and post-test. The control class used conventional learning, while the experimental class used differentiated learning with the PBL model. The results showed that using differentiated learning through the PBL model affected student learning achievement, with a sig value of 0.001 on the Mann-Whitney test. The average Normalized Gain (N Gain) of the control class was 0.32, while in the experimental class, it was 0.45. Both are in the medium category. In the control class, the N-Gain scores of individual students in the low, medium, and high categories were 52%, 40%, and 8%, respectively. The experimental class was 12%, 76%, and 12%, respectively. The improvement in student learning achievement in the experimental class is better than in the control class. Differentiated instruction provides access for students to be facilitated with their different needs, while with PBL, students can learn through contextualized problem-solving steps. Overall, it can be concluded that differentiated learning through the PBL model influences student learning achievement.
