Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of reverse logistics on consumer satisfaction with cosmetic products at PT Nectars Natura Karya. Reverse logistics, which involves the management of product returns for recycling, repairs, or waste handling, is a crucial element in enhancing sustainability while meeting the expectations of modern consumers. The study employs a simple linear regression analysis method to understand the relationship between reverse logistics as the independent variable and consumer satisfaction as the dependent variable. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to consumers of PT Nectars Natura Karya's best-selling product, Tamanu Daycream. Based on the simple linear regression test results, the simple linear regression equation obtained is Y = 0.666 + 0.464X, indicating that if the reverse logistics variable is zero or constant, consumer satisfaction increases by 0.666 units. The coefficient value for the reverse logistics variable is 0.464, meaning that a one-unit increase in reverse logistics will increase consumer satisfaction by 0.464 units or 46.4%. Furthermore, the R value (correlation coefficient) is 0.876, signifying a very strong relationship between reverse logistics and consumer satisfaction. The R2 value (coefficient of determination) is 0.767, indicating that 76.7% of the variation in consumer satisfaction can be explained by reverse logistics in the model, while the remaining 23.3% is explained by other factors outside the model. With an R2 of 0.767, the model is categorized as substantial, implying a very strong relationship between reverse logistics and consumer satisfaction. In the hypothesis testing, the t_calculated value of 17.778 far exceeds the t_table value of 1.664. Thus, H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted, confirming that the relationship between reverse logistics and consumer satisfaction is highly significant.

Abstract

Climate change has had a significant impact on the sustainability of coastal communities, particularly small-scale fishers who depend on the stability of marine ecosystems for their livelihoods. This study aims to understand the forms of adaptation undertaken by fishing communities in Aru Bay, South Kalimantan, and examine how these adaptations relate to existing institutional support and policy frameworks. Using a qualitative case study approach and analysis based on the Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF), this study explores ive forms of livelihood capital human, social, natural, physical, and financial that shape fishers’ adaptation strategies. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with nine key informants, including active fishermen, fishermen's families, and the local village head. The results show that fishermen's adaptation process occurs autonomously and is heavily influenced by local experiences, social relations, and their interpretations of seasonal changes and extreme weather. Adaptation occurs through adjusting fishing times and locations, diversifying income, and establishing informal social networks. However, limited access to technology, financing, and social protection remains a significant barrier. These findings are expected to form the basis for developing more contextual and inclusive policies in response to the challenges of climate change in the small-scale fisheries sector

Abstract

This research discusses the comparative analysis of linear regression and exponential smoothing methods in forecasting demand for Pertalite products at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra, especially the Medan Retail Sales Area. This research aims to find out the most accurate forecasting method in predicting demand for Pertalite in the Medan Retail Sales Area. Historical demand data from the period January 2023 to June 2024 is used as the basis for the research. The research results show that the linear regression method has a better level of forecasting accuracy than the exponential smoothing method based on error calculations. The linear regression method produces a Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) value of 3,157,216, a Mean Square Error (MSE) of 1,571,886,522, and a Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) of 2.97%. Meanwhile, the exponential smoothing method with alpha values of 0.1, 0.5, and 0.9 produces MAD values of 3,244,072, 3,746,722 and 4,796,245 respectively, MSE values of 2,010,507,177, 2,580,704,082 and 3,344,564,362, and MAPE values of 3.08%, 3.54% and 4.52%. Therefore, it is concluded that the linear regression method is the most appropriate to use in forecasting demand for Pertalite in the Medan Retail Sales Area because it has the smallest error value. It is hoped that this research can help PT Pertamina Patra Niaga in making strategic decisions regarding inventory management and fuel distribution more efficiently.

Abstract

This article discusses evaluating customer priorities in freight forwarding companies using the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART). SMART techniques can be used to evaluate consumer priorities within an organisation, taking into account factors such as delivery timeliness, the safety and integrity of goods, communication and response, pricing, and flexibility in service options. This study seeks to identify and assess the service features that consumers consider most significant and offer recommendations for service improvement. The results revealed that the A2 alternative was rated first, A1 second, and A6 third, with scores of 0.547, 0.257, and 0.185667, respectively, underscoring a preference for traits with greater benefits. Customers prioritise the safety and integrity of the goods, achieving a maximum score of 76, indicating a significant assessment of the condition of the goods received. This is especially relevant in the halal ecosystem, where compliance with halal standards is essential across sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. The transportation and management of halal-certified products must comply with halal certification standards, which quickly impacts consumer choice in the freight forwarding industry. Damage or loss of goods during delivery is a significant issue that the service provider must address. Investigations show that customers prioritise reliability, security, integrity of goods, speed of delivery, and effective communication, which is further strengthened by the increasing demand for halal-compliant services.
