The research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge about hypertension and nutritional status with blood pressure control at the Pasundan Community Health Center. The research was carried out in March-April 2023. There were 53 respondents. Data collection was carried out by anthropometric measurements and interviews to fill out the questionnaire. Data were analyzed using chi-square with α<0.05. The results of the study showed that the p-value was 0.000 (α<0.05), meaning that there was a relationship between knowledge about hypertension and nutritional status and blood pressure control.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between chemotherapy frequency and nutritional status and leukocyte levels in breast cancer patients. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross sectional research design. This research was conducted in September 2023. The sample consisted of 33 people and was taken using accidental sampling technique. There are 2 types of research data, namely primary data (frequency of chemotherapy and nutritional status) and secondary data (leukocyte levels). Data analysis used the Pearson chi-square test (α<0.050) with the Pearson product moment test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy and the nutritional status of breast cancer patients (p=0.043) with a low correlation (r=-0.235) and there was a relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy and the leukocyte levels of breast cancer patients (p=0.009) with a medium correlation. or quite strong (r=-0.530).

Abstract

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are infections transmitted through sexual contact and can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. STIs can affect anyone and may result in serious health consequences, particularly concerning the reproductive system. Adolescents are in a developmental phase characterized by high curiosity about sexual behavior, placing them at greater risk for unsafe sexual practices. Data shows that 59% of women and 74% of men have engaged in premarital sex. This study aims to examine STI prevention efforts among adolescents with multiple sexual partners in Samarinda City. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The study involved seven informants: one key informant, four main informants, and two supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. Research shows that adolescents have good knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and their types, but their attitude toward prevention remains low. Most informants did not use contraceptives during sexual intercourse. Lifestyle and external factors, such as peer influence and the use of online dating apps, also contribute to multi-partner sexual behavior. Adolescents' sexual activities range from physical intimacy, such as kissing, to engaging in sexual intercourse with more than one partner. Some informants consider this behavior to be common in modern relationships. Preventive measures taken by adolescents include using contraceptives during intercourse and maintaining genital hygiene. While adolescents demonstrate sufficient knowledge about STIs, their attitudes and preventive practices need significant improvement

Abstract

Nutrition is a crucial element in food that plays a vital role in ensuring an individual's growth and development. Malnutrition is a common nutritional problem that affects children below the age of five. It occurs when the body lacks or has an imbalance of vital nutrients necessary for growth, cognitive development, and overall well-being. The preliminary study conducted at the Teratak Village Community Health Center found that some toddlers had a body weight that was below the recommended weight according to the age indicator in the KMS. The study had a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-and-post-test approach. A total of 20 toddlers aged between 24 to 60 months who were below the yellow line (BGK) and the red line (BGM) on the KMS graph were sampled during the weighing period between October 2022 – March 2023. The paired sample t-test method was used to analyze the changes in body weight. The study found that 16 toddlers experienced weight gain while two others did not show any increase in weight after the intervention. The statistical test resulted in a p-value of 0.000 (< α = 0.05), demonstrating that providing Moringa leaf tofu nuggets had a significant effect on the weight gain of toddlers. Providing additional food with tofu nuggets and Moringa leaves can increase toddlers' weight, with 50 grams of nuggets containing an additional protein intake of 5.65 grams.

Abstract

Air pollution is a major environmental issue affecting urban areas worldwide, with significant health implications for millions of residents. In Jakarta, rapid urbanization and industrial activities have contributed to deteriorating air quality, exposing the population to harmful pollutants such as particulate matter (PM₂.₅, PM₁₀), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), ozone (O₃), and carbon monoxide (CO). This study aimed to analyze the impact of air pollution on public health in Jakarta, identify key hazardous pollutants, and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation policies. A literature review approach and secondary data analysis were utilized, incorporating air quality monitoring data, epidemiological studies, and government reports. The results indicate that prolonged exposure to air pollutants correlates with increased cases of respiratory diseases (asthma, bronchitis, COPD), cardiovascular disorders, and overall mortality rates. The study also observes fluctuating air quality trends in Jakarta between 2020 and 2024, with periods of improvement attributed to regulatory interventions. Findings highlight the urgency of implementing stricter pollution control policies, promoting public transportation, and enhancing air quality monitoring systems. The study concludes that a multi-stakeholder approach, involving government, industry, and communities, is essential for sustainable urban air quality management. Future research should focus on the long-term effects of air pollution exposure and the effectiveness of policy measures in reducing health risks.
