Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of using Kahoot! learning game media on the academic performance of fifth-grade students in Islamic Education and Character lessons. The research employed the McTaggart Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, consisting of two cycles that included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' academic achievement, with the mastery level increasing from 94.74% in the first cycle to 100% in the second cycle. The use of Kahoot! as a game-based learning medium proved effective in enhancing student engagement, participation, conceptual understanding, and material retention. This study highlights the importance of innovative and technology-based teaching strategies to improve learning effectiveness. The implementation of interactive media such as Kahoot! can serve as a solution for educators to create a more dynamic and engaging learning experience for students. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak penggunaan media permainan pembelajaran Kahoot! terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas lima dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) McTaggart dengan dua siklus yang mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam capaian akademik siswa, dengan rata-rata ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 94,74% pada siklus pertama menjadi 100% pada siklus kedua. Penggunaan Kahoot! sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis game terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan dan partisipasi siswa dalam kelas, memperbaiki pemahaman konsep, serta meningkatkan retensi materi. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Implementasi media interaktif seperti Kahoot! dapat menjadi solusi bagi guru dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih dinamis dan menarik bagi siswa.

Abstract

Modern science has given rise to atheistic and secular views due to its methodologies, which are considered contrary to the purpose of creation—to recognize Allah (ma'rifah Allah) as the Creator of all existence. This study examines Fakhruddîn al-Râzî’s methodological critique of modern scientific approaches and explores alternative methods aligned with Islamic epistemology. Using qualitative research with a library research approach, this study identifies several scientific methodologies proposed by al-Râzî, including al-nadlar, al-taammul, al-istidlal, al-qiyas, al-tadabbur, al-mujahadah, and al-riyâdhah ruhâniyah. These methods reflect al-Râzî’s empirical experience in understanding the universe. The findings highlight the need to reconstruct the study of science in Islamic education, particularly in Islamic universities, to ensure that scientific knowledge aligns with the Islamic worldview. This research provides an alternative methodological framework to counter the limitations of positivism and promote a holistic integration of science and spirituality. Abstrak Sains modern telah melahirkan pandangan ateistik dan sekuler akibat metodologinya yang dianggap bertentangan dengan tujuan penciptaan, yaitu mengenal Allah (ma’rifah Allah) sebagai Sang Pencipta. Penelitian ini mengkaji kritik metodologis Fakhruddîn al-Râzî terhadap metodologi kajian sains modern serta menawarkan alternatif metode yang sejalan dengan epistemologi Islam. Dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi beberapa metode kajian sains yang dikembangkan al-Râzî, seperti al-nadlar, al-taammul, al-istidlal, al-qiyas, al-tadabbur, al-mujahadah, dan al-riyâdhah ruhâniyah. Metode-metode ini mencerminkan pengalaman empiris al-Râzî dalam memahami alam semesta. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya rekonstruksi metodologi studi sains dalam pendidikan Islam, khususnya di perguruan tinggi Islam, agar ilmu yang dikembangkan tetap selaras dengan pandangan dunia Islam. Penelitian ini menawarkan kerangka metodologi alternatif untuk mengatasi keterbatasan positivisme dan mengintegrasikan sains dengan spiritualitas secara holistik.

Abstract

In today's modern era, scientific advances and demands for rationality are often challenges to religious values, including among Islamic students. This process has led to the emergence of efforts to deconstruct faith that result in doubts about religious teachings and lead to agnostic attitudes. This study examines the factors that encourage the emergence of agnosticism among Islamic students as a result of the deconstruction process carried out. A qualitative approach with phenomenological methods is used to explore and analyze the experiences of students who have an agnostic view. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, & documentation of three students at Islamic Universities in Malang. This study shows that the causes of agnosticism among Muslim students are more related to the inability to accept religious concepts that are considered illogical, & prioritize freedom of thought and humanist values over worship practices. AbstrakEra modern saat ini, kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan tuntutan rasionalitas kerap kali menjadi tantangan bagi nilai-nilai agama, termasuk di kalangan mahasiswa Islam. Proses ini mendorong munculnya upaya dekonstruksi iman yang mengakibatkan keraguan terhadap ajaran agama dan berujung pada sikap agnostik. Penelitian ini mengkaji faktor-faktor yang mendorong munculnya agnostisisme di kalangan mahasiswa Islam sebagai hasil dari proses dekonstruksi yang dilakukan. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi digunakan untuk menggali dan menganalisis pengalaman mahasiswa yang memiliki pandangan agnostik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap tiga mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi Islam di Malang. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyebab agnostisisme di kalangan mahasiswa muslim lebih terkait dengan ketidakmampuan menerima konsep agama yang dianggap tidak logis, serta mengutamakan kebebasan berpikir dan nilai-nilai humanis dibandingkan praktik ibadah.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic education has become a crucial topic since the COVID-19 pandemic, yet systematic analyses remain limited. This study analyzes scholarly publication trends on digital transformation in Islamic education using a bibliometric approach based on 227 publications from the Scopus database (2019–2024), employing VOSviewer to map thematic networks and collaborations. The findings show a significant increase in publications since 2023, with Indonesia and Malaysia as the main contributors. Keywords such as "Islamic education" and "e-learning" dominate the research landscape, while institutions like Universiti Malaya and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia make notable contributions. The implications of this research include new opportunities such as integrating AI-based technologies into the Islamic education curriculum and enhancing cross-country collaborations. This study provides a clear map of trends, patterns, and thematic relationships, offering strategic insights for academics and policymakers to more effectively integrate technology into Islamic education. AbstrakTransformasi digital dalam pendidikan Islam menjadi topik krusial sejak pandemi COVID-19, namun analisis sistematis terkait masih minim. Penelitian ini menganalisis tren publikasi ilmiah tentang transformasi digital dalam pendidikan Islam melalui pendekatan bibliometrik terhadap 227 publikasi dari database Scopus (2019–2024), menggunakan VOSviewer untuk memetakan jaringan tematik dan kolaborasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan publikasi sejak 2023, dengan Indonesia dan Malaysia sebagai kontributor utama. Kata kunci seperti Islamic education dan e-learning mendominasi, dan institusi seperti Universiti Malaya serta Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia memberikan kontribusi penting. Implikasi penelitian ini meliputi peluang riset baru, seperti integrasi teknologi berbasis AI dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam dan peningkatan kolaborasi lintas-negara. Studi ini memberikan peta tren, pola, dan hubungan tematik yang bermanfaat bagi akademisi dan pembuat kebijakan untuk integrasi teknologi yang lebih efektif dalam pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic education and local wisdom in fostering environmental awareness among the Banjar Malay community in South Kalimantan. Grounded in a qualitative ethnographic case study, the research reveals how Islamic teachings—such as the concepts of khalifah, amanah, and ihsan—combined with local cultural practices contribute to pro-environmental behaviors. Data were collected through interviews with community leaders, religious figures, academics, and environmental activists, as well as participatory observations. The findings show that the blending of Islamic moral values and traditional ecological practices not only deepens community commitment to environmental stewardship but also bridges the gap between religious teachings and daily environmental action. This integration promotes a sustainable mindset grounded in both spirituality and culture. The study recommends incorporating these values into educational curricula and community programs to build long-term environmental resilience and spiritual responsibility. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji integrasi pendidikan Islam dan kearifan lokal dalam membentuk kesadaran lingkungan di masyarakat Melayu Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan. Dengan pendekatan studi kasus etnografi kualitatif, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai Islam seperti khalifah, amanah, dan ihsan, bila dipadukan dengan praktik budaya lokal, mampu mendorong perilaku pro-lingkungan. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan tokoh masyarakat, pemuka agama, akademisi, dan aktivis lingkungan, serta observasi partisipatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sinergi antara nilai-nilai agama dan tradisi lokal tidak hanya memperkuat komitmen masyarakat terhadap pelestarian lingkungan, tetapi juga menjembatani kesenjangan antara ajaran agama dan praktik sehari-hari. Integrasi ini membentuk pola pikir berkelanjutan yang bersumber dari spiritualitas dan budaya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan kurikulum dan program berbasis nilai Islam dan kearifan lokal untuk memperkuat tanggung jawab ekologis masyarakat.

Abstract

This study examines change management practices at the Islamic Education Institute Tafaqquh Fiddin (IAITF) Dumai in response to challenges emerging from the digital transformation era. The research focuses on the institution's limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among educators, and resistance to change. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews with administrators and educators. The findings reveal that while technological adaptation is progressing, a systematic and collaborative change management approach remains underdeveloped. Kurt Lewin’s change management model, emphasizing the stages of unfreezing, changing, and refreezing, served as the analytical framework. The study underscores the need for continuous digital skills training, strategic investment in technological infrastructure, and a participatory approach to foster wider acceptance of change. These recommendations aim to enhance the institution’s adaptability to technological advances and contribute to the broader discourse on Islamic education management in the digital era, offering practical insights for similar institutions. AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji manajemen perubahan di Institut Agama Islam Tafaqquh Fiddin (IAITF) Dumai dalam menghadapi tantangan era transformasi digital. Fokus penelitian terletak pada keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, rendahnya keterampilan digital pendidik, serta resistensi terhadap perubahan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap pengurus dan pendidik. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa adaptasi terhadap teknologi telah berlangsung, namun belum diikuti dengan pengelolaan perubahan yang sistematis dan kolaboratif. Model manajemen perubahan Kurt Lewin digunakan sebagai kerangka dalam analisis, menekankan pentingnya tahapan unfreeze, change, dan refreeze. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pelatihan digital berkelanjutan, investasi infrastruktur, serta pendekatan partisipatif untuk memperkuat penerimaan perubahan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan manajemen pendidikan Islam yang adaptif terhadap era digital dan menjadi referensi strategis bagi lembaga pendidikan Islam lainnya.

Abstract

Innovation in Islamic education often raises dilemmas when it conflicts with the limits of Islamic law. This study aims to define the permissible boundaries of educational innovation based on the principles of Ushul al-Fiqh. Using a qualitative approach and library research method, data were collected from primary and secondary sources on educational innovation and Islamic legal theory. The findings indicate that innovation is permissible in areas where textual evidence (nash) is either ambiguous (zhanniy) or absent, provided it is based on valid ijtihad. Five key areas of innovation deemed acceptable include educational personnel, curriculum, management, learners, and institutional structure. Conversely, innovation is prohibited in areas established with absolute certainty (qath’i), such as Islamic creed (aqidah), core acts of worship, and fundamental rulings in fiqh. This research offers a normative framework for educators and policymakers to design Islamic educational innovations that are both contextually relevant and aligned with Sharia principles. AbstrakInovasi dalam pendidikan Islam sering kali menimbulkan dilema ketika berhadapan dengan batasan-batasan syariat Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan batas-batas sah inovasi pendidikan Islam berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip Ushul al-Fiqh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai literatur primer dan sekunder yang relevan mengenai inovasi pendidikan dan kaidah Ushul al-Fiqh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi diperbolehkan selama berada dalam wilayah dalil yang bersifat zhanniy (tidak pasti) atau dalam perkara yang tidak memiliki nash eksplisit, serta dilakukan melalui proses ijtihad yang benar. Lima sasaran inovasi pendidikan Islam yang dapat diperbaharui secara syar’i meliputi pelaksana pendidikan, kurikulum, manajemen, peserta didik, dan kelembagaan. Sebaliknya, inovasi tidak diperkenankan dalam aspek yang telah ditetapkan secara qath’i (pasti), seperti akidah, ibadah pokok, dan hukum-hukum dasar dalam fikih. Temuan ini diharapkan menjadi acuan normatif bagi para pendidik dan pengambil kebijakan dalam merancang inovasi pendidikan Islam yang relevan, adaptif, dan tetap berlandaskan syariat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of holistic education through bil hikmah communication in building the character of the younger generation in this context, namely students, based on thematic studies of the Qur'an, especially Q.S. Luqman verses 12-19. The era of disruption brings new challenges in character building, so a relevant and holistic approach based on Islamic values is needed. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and literature method with content analysis techniques to examine the values of bil hikmah communication contained in the Qur'an and Hadith. The results show that the main values such as tawhid, responsibility, emotional intelligence, patience, tolerance, love of peace, as well as communication ethics, are important elements in holistic education. The integration of these values supports character education that is more adaptive, spiritual, and relevant to the challenges of the digital era, both in formal and non-formal education environments. This research is expected to be a guide for educators and parents in shaping a noble generation through the bil hikmah communication approach sourced from the Qur'an and Hadith

Abstract

The current of modernization has entered the industrial era 4.0 and 5.0. Various paradigms of progress in the fields of science and technology have entered Indonesia massively. Modernization also has a very large influence on the world. The modernization that is currently happening has a variety of impacts on people's lives. Changes in lifestyle, shifting paradigms of life, to socio-cultural influences from abroad, increasingly provide a complex picture of the development of modernization in Indonesia. The purpose of the study is to analyze the challenges of modern Islamic education in the contemporary era. The research method uses a qualitative approach, with the type of library research. The results of the study show that Islamic education must respond to the challenges of modernity that are currently developing by abandoning old scientific paradigms, which only give rise to the decline of Islamic education studies. Having an open attitude to the flow of modernization, conducting cross-reference studies, between scientific fields, will create a space for new formulations in understanding the revitalization of Islamic education. So that the current formulation of Islamic education is able to answer various kinds of problems and challenges that arise from the flow of modernization.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly changed the educational landscape, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This study aims to identify the role of PAI teachers in implementing constructivist learning in the digital era, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review design focusing on literature reviews from various reading media. The results showed that PAI teachers are important in facilitating students' active, critical, and creative learning through different digital platforms. However, teachers also face challenges such as limited infrastructure, lack of training, and resistance from some students. This study concludes that efforts are needed to improve teachers' digital competencies, develop relevant curricula, and provide adequate infrastructure to support the implementation of constructivist learning in the digital era.
