Abstract

Global educational reforms increasingly emphasize critical thinking, yet Indonesian elementary schools continue to face challenges in realizing this shift within the Merdeka Curriculum. A key gap persists between curriculum expectations and classroom practice, especially in integrating local wisdom with deep learning approaches. This descriptive qualitative study involved 41 teachers and 77 students through interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and document analysis, framed by the FRISCO reasoning model. The findings show that teachers understand core deep learning principles linking, reflection, and evidence-based reasoning but their implementation is constrained by limited time, uneven technological access, and varying student readiness. Integrating local wisdom through environmental practices, folklore, and cultural traditions significantly increased student engagement and improved critical thinking (N-gain = 0.47), although technology remained underutilized for inquiry-based tasks. These results underscore the need for continuous professional development and the design of culturally grounded learning resources that synergize local content, the FRISCO framework, and technology to achieve curriculum goals. The novelty of this study lies in its holistic integration of cultural knowledge, deep learning pedagogy, and a structured reasoning framework within the Merdeka Curriculum context. Its contribution provides empirical evidence and a conceptual model for developing context-responsive IPAS learning designs that connect technology, culture, and higher-order thinking.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the validity of the high-intelligent learner's worksheet. This study helps in producing a worthwhile innovation product used in learning, which is the intelligence-oriented sheet of each learner to increase the learning result. The study uses an exploratory type method that focuses on the multiage-based learner's worksheet with the objective of seeing and measuring in-depth worthiness on the multi-intelligence intelligence learner's worksheet through the expert validator and practitioners. This research can be used as a model for research and development (r & D), so the multi-intelligence intelligence resource worksheet that was developed is worthy of use. In the analysis, there were three validators, consisting of one expert validator and two practitioners. To analyze the feasibility of the multi-intelligence learner's worksheet, we used validation questionnaire. Based on valification analysis and instrument charging data by expert tests and good practitioners of design and materials, it suggests that the multi-intelligence intelligence education worksheet is judged with an average score of 4.66, which is perfectly valid. So it can be concluded that the high-intelligence learners' worksheets can be used in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Problem Based Learning-Audio Visual approach in improving science skills. The research method used is quantitative. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study was fourth-grade students in one of the elementary schools in Maros Regency, amounting to 44 people. Data collection techniques used tests to determine students' science problem-solving abilities. The data collected were analyzed quantitatively using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of descriptive statistical data analysis showed that the average value of the scientific problem-solving ability of the experimental class was 88.26, and the control class was 72.38. At the same time, the results of inferential statistical data analysis showed the value of sig. On problem solving ability less than 0.05 with a t value of 10.228 greater than t table 1.681. This means that there is an increase in the ability to solve science problems through applying the Problem Based Learning-Audio Visual approach.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of a realistic mathematics approach on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. It employed a quantitative research method with a non-equivalent control group design. The study's participants were fifth-grade students from various schools in Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency. The sample was selected using simple random sampling. Data collection involved a mathematics problem-solving ability test. The analysis included descriptive and inferential techniques. Descriptive analysis revealed that students in the experimental class, taught using a realistic mathematics approach, demonstrated significantly better problem-solving skills compared to those in the control class. The average posttest score in the experimental class was 61.85, whereas it was 46.40 in the control class. Inferential analysis, including independent sample t-test and Manova test, indicated that learning with a realistic mathematics approach had a significant effect, as evidenced by a sig value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of ethnomathematics in strengthening students’ numeracy literacy at SMA Negeri 3 Maros. The study was motivated by the low level of students’ numeracy literacy, which remains a major challenge in mathematics learning, particularly in understanding and solving contextual problems. Ethnomathematics is considered a relevant learning approach because it connects mathematical concepts with local cultural contexts, making learning more contextual and meaningful. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 32 students who completed a Likert-scale questionnaire, 3 students who participated in in-depth interviews, and 1 mathematics teacher who was also interviewed. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the integration of ethnomathematics contributed positively to strengthening students’ numeracy literacy. A total of 84.3% of students stated that the use of local cultural contexts helped them understand the use of mathematical numbers and symbols in daily life, while 81.2% reported that they found it easier to analyze contextual mathematical problems when learning activities were linked to local culture. Interview results also indicated that ethnomathematics-based learning helped students understand mathematical concepts more concretely, improved their ability to solve numeracy problems, and enhanced their ability to interpret and communicate mathematical problem-solving processes. Furthermore, the mathematics teacher stated that integrating local culture into mathematics learning increased students’ participation and engagement during the learning process.
