Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of a realistic mathematics approach on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. It employed a quantitative research method with a non-equivalent control group design. The study's participants were fifth-grade students from various schools in Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency. The sample was selected using simple random sampling. Data collection involved a mathematics problem-solving ability test. The analysis included descriptive and inferential techniques. Descriptive analysis revealed that students in the experimental class, taught using a realistic mathematics approach, demonstrated significantly better problem-solving skills compared to those in the control class. The average posttest score in the experimental class was 61.85, whereas it was 46.40 in the control class. Inferential analysis, including independent sample t-test and Manova test, indicated that learning with a realistic mathematics approach had a significant effect, as evidenced by a sig value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by Genially gamification-based media on motivation and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in an elementary school in Makassar City. The research method used was an experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done using random sampling techniques, resulting in a sample of 51 students, with 21 students in the experimental group receiving learning through the TGT model assisted by Genially, and 30 students in the control group receiving conventional learning. Data were collected through motivation and learning outcome tests before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using an independent sample t-test to compare learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups before and after the application of the model, and MANOVA to examine the effects on motivation and learning outcomes simultaneously. The results showed a significant difference in the increase in motivation and learning outcomes between the two groups. The experimental group that used the TGT model assisted by Genially showed a more significant increase than the control group in both variables (p < 0.05). These findings confirm that the integration of technology and gamification approaches in learning can enhance student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop flipped learning model learning tools in Advanced Calculus courses through Online Learning Systems (SPADA). This research is development research with the research subjects being 26 Mathematics Education students. The learning tools developed were in the form of teaching materials and learning videos were validated by two material expert validators and two media expert validators. The research instruments used were teaching material validation sheets, learning video validation sheets, teaching material readability test sheets and student response questionnaires to learning videos. The results of the validation show that the learning tools developed are in the valid category and the student response questionnaire to the learning tools developed shows a good response, so it can be concluded that the learning tools developed in the form of textbooks and learning videos using the Flipped Learning model assisted by the SPADA Learning Management System have met validity, practicality, and effectiveness so that they can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the core subjects in elementary school and plays a significant role in the development of students' logical and analytical thinking abilities. Therefore, the need to be given guidance on the introduction of learning media in mathematics education at the elementary school level. This activity aims to introduce and integrate IT-based learning media into mathematics education at Teamate Inpres Elementary School in Pallantikang Village, Pattallassang District, Gowa Regency. The implementation method of the activity includes the development of materials, teacher training, and student mentoring using the Khan Academy and To DO Math platforms. The findings indicate positive involvement, with 90% student participation in the activity. Evaluation of the activity results reveals a significant improvement in the understanding of mathematical concepts, with 80% of students showing increased speed and accuracy in their responses. The benefits obtained include an increase in student interest in learning, improvement of teacher skills in managing IT-based learning, and enhanced collaboration between the school and the community. The conclusion of this activity emphasizes the role of IT-based learning media strategies in improving the quality of elementary-level mathematics education and strengthening community involvement in supporting educational innovation.

Abstract

Global educational reforms increasingly emphasize critical thinking, yet Indonesian elementary schools continue to face challenges in realizing this shift within the Merdeka Curriculum. A key gap persists between curriculum expectations and classroom practice, especially in integrating local wisdom with deep learning approaches. This descriptive qualitative study involved 41 teachers and 77 students through interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and document analysis, framed by the FRISCO reasoning model. The findings show that teachers understand core deep learning principles linking, reflection, and evidence-based reasoning but their implementation is constrained by limited time, uneven technological access, and varying student readiness. Integrating local wisdom through environmental practices, folklore, and cultural traditions significantly increased student engagement and improved critical thinking (N-gain = 0.47), although technology remained underutilized for inquiry-based tasks. These results underscore the need for continuous professional development and the design of culturally grounded learning resources that synergize local content, the FRISCO framework, and technology to achieve curriculum goals. The novelty of this study lies in its holistic integration of cultural knowledge, deep learning pedagogy, and a structured reasoning framework within the Merdeka Curriculum context. Its contribution provides empirical evidence and a conceptual model for developing context-responsive IPAS learning designs that connect technology, culture, and higher-order thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of numeracy literacy-based learning on students' creative thinking abilities and mathematical communication. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of all fourth grade students in the cluster I area of Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency with a total of 340 students. Through cluster random sampling, 46 students from SD Negeri Sungguminasa IV were selected as research samples. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistics consisting of independent sample t tests and multivariate tests. The results showed that numeracy literacy-based learning had an effect on the ability to think creatively and mathematically communicate in class IV students at SD Negeri Sungguminasa IV, Gowa Regency.
