Abstract

Background: In people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), tuberculosis (TB) is the leading cause of death, with a 20 times higher risk of developing active TB compared to people without HIV. PLHIV are also at higher risk of experiencing cutaneous adverse drug reactions (CADR) caused by anti-TB drugs. The delayed therapy of TB caused by CADR might make TB management more difficult. Case: A 23-year-old male with clinically confirmed pulmonary TB on intensive phase anti-TB therapy experienced erythroderma due to allergies to anti-TB drugs and stage III HIV. In the drug challenge, it was found that the patient showed an allergic reaction in the form of a reddish rash that spread widely on the anterior and posterior thorax and abdomen after consuming rifampicin and pyrazinamide. Discussion: The patient's treatment was then added with cetirizine and methylprednisolone. The anti-TB drugs will be given for 9 months, with the intensive phase of 2 months, and the continuation phase of 7 months. Conclusion: There is a very high risk of CADR in TB patients with HIV infection. Monitoring the side effects of anti-TB regularly and identifying immediately which anti-TB drug causes the allergy is significant as the key to managing CADR in TB-HIV patients. Anti-TB drug provocation tests for each drug and a gradual dose increase are carried out if the clinical CADR has disappeared or improved.

Abstract

A study on the effect of the ethyl acetate fraction of binahong leaves ( Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) on uric acid levels in hyperuricemia male mice has been carried out. A total of 25 male mice were first induced with chicken liver juice 25 g/kg orally for 14 days to get hyperuricemia test animals. The test animals were divided into six groups, namely those that received 12.5 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg fractions, positive control, negative control and 10 mg/kg allopurinol as a comparison. Data analysis used two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's Multiple Range T-test with 95% confidence intervals. This study stated that the fraction used lowered blood uric acid levels. The best reducing effect of the fractions was shown by a dose of 50 mg/kg. This study shows that the ethyl acetate fraction of A. cordifolia exhibits antihyperuricemia activity which has the potential for drug development in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain and describe the role of the Merdeka BelajarKampu Merdeka (MBKM) or the Independent Learning Program in enhancing the culture and citizenship literacy of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) pre-service teachers at Universitas Almuslim, Indonesia, through the PERMATA-SAKTI Program, a student exchange program. This research employed a mixed method. The respondents of this study were prospective EFL teachers who participated in the program. Five informants were interviewed extensively to collect qualitative data. The interviews were transcribed and the results were analyzed through thematic analysis. A number of 35 pre-service EFL teachers filled in a closed-ended questionnaire to collect quantitative data. These data were analyzed descriptively. The findings of this study indicated that the program could strengthen the cultural and citizenship literacy of EFL pre-service teachers by introducing culture and diversity through the online learning process. The active combined learning process revealed the values of solidarity, tolerance, diversity, and unity. EFL pre-service teachers developed an attitude of mutual respect through a dynamic learning process involving diverse languages, races, ethnicities, religions, and worldviews. This study concluded that the PERMATA-SAKTI Program effectively strengthened the EFL pre-service teachers cultural and citizenship literacy.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam pada era multikultural menuntut adanya transformasi yang tidak hanya bersifat struktural, tetapi juga nilai. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah belum terintegrasinya nilai-nilai humanis secara sistematis dalam praktik kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam, terutama dalam konteks masyarakat yang beragam secara budaya dan keyakinan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji konsep, landasan, serta strategi implementatif nilai-nilai humanis dalam kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam multikultural. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research) dan analisis hermeneutik terhadap teks keislaman serta referensi ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai seperti empati, rahmah, keadilan, dan partisipasi merupakan bagian integral dari kepemimpinan Islam, dan ketika dipadukan dengan pendekatan multikultural, dapat memperkuat iklim pendidikan yang inklusif dan adil. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pembaruan kurikulum kepemimpinan, penguatan budaya sekolah inklusif, dan peningkatan literasi multikultural di kalangan pemimpin pendidikan. Integrasi nilai-nilai humanis merupakan kunci untuk menjawab tantangan pendidikan Islam di era pluralisme dan globalisasi.

Abstract

Guru abad 21 harus memiliki pengetahuan sekaligus keterampilan dalam menggunakan berbagai perangkat teknologi baik yang tradisional maupun modern untuk memfasilitasi belajar dan meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendefinisikan, menjelaskan tentang pengukuran, dan menjelaskan tentang pengembangan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK). Penulisan artikel menggunakan metode survei untuk mengetahui tingkat TPCK pada guru matematika. Hasil kajian mendapati bahwa, TPCK merupakan salah suatu jenis pengetahuan baru yang harus dikuasi guru untuk dapat mengintegrasikan teknologi dengan baik dalam pembelajaran. TPCK dapat dijadikan sebagai kerangka kerja untuk mendesain kurikulum pendidikan guru yang lebih sesuai dengan era dan tuntutan pembelajaran Abad 21. Berdasarkan pelatihan yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat oleh Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Malikussaleh berjalan dengan sukses dan lancar. Berdasarkan hasil angket, hampir seluruh peserta memberikan tanggapan positif, memperoleh persentase 95,81% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

The quality of education is the main indicator in achieving national education goals, including in the madrasah environment. This article aims to analyze the managerial strategies of madrasah principals in carrying out managerial functions (planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising) to improve the quality of education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Haq Kasongan, Central Kalimantan. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that the madrasah principal carries out managerial functions in a participatory manner by involving all teachers in planning, dividing tasks according to individual capacity, and implementing programs through increasing curriculum understanding, teacher skills, and strengthening supervision. Supervision is carried out periodically by emphasizing learning evaluation and coaching-based follow-up. The committee and parents are also involved through partnerships built on trust and communication. The novelty of this article lies in the identification of value-based management practices that integrate spiritual, participatory, and adaptive approaches as a response to resource limitations. This approach shows that in the context of madrasas, the strength of collegial culture and institutional spirituality can be key factors in improving the quality of education in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth, Store Atmosphere, Location, and Service Quality on purchasing decisions for MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) products at MM Food Court Tabalong. The research employs a quantitative method using a multiple linear regression analysis approach. Data sources were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 67 respondents, who were visitors to MM Food Court Tabalong. The results show that Word of Mouth, Location, and Service Quality have a significant positive influence on purchasing decisions for MSME products at MM Food Court Tabalong, as indicated by positive regression coefficients. On the other hand, Store Atmosphere did not show a significant effect on purchasing decisions. Based on the analysis, it is found that the combination of these four variables contributes 41.6% to purchasing decisions, while the remaining 59.4% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. This study suggests that MSME managers at MM Food Court Tabalong should focus more on improving the quality of Word of Mouth, strategic location, and service quality. Meanwhile, efforts on Store Atmosphere should be maintained and preserved to encourage consumers to continue making purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The implementation of the Integrated District Administrative Services (PATEN) represents a paradigmatic transformation in the provision of public services, emphasizing the integration of bureaucratic accountability and public satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the policy implications of PATEN on strengthening accountability mechanisms in public services and to examine its impact on the level of public satisfaction as service users. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach with a literature review technique, focusing on the analysis of academic literature and relevant policy documents published between 2021 and 2025. The analysis results show that the implementation of PATEN significantly contributes to strengthening accountability by increasing procedural transparency, standardizing services, and developing an integrated monitoring system. The positive impact on public satisfaction is reflected in increased service accessibility, staff responsiveness, and the simplification of previously complex bureaucratic processes. Furthermore, the determinant factors for the successful implementation of PATEN include the capacity and competence of human resources, the availability of technological infrastructure, leadership commitment, and the ability to adapt to local conditions and characteristics. Nevertheless, this study also identifies a number of challenges, including limited resources, resistance to change, and the digital divide between regions. Overall, the research concludes that PATEN has strategic potential as an instrument for bureaucratic reform capable of realizing good governance through public services that are of higher quality, accountable, and responsive to community needs.

Abstract

Students with good self-efficacy are generally able to overcome challenges in various aspects of life. This study aimed to measure students’ self-efficacy in learning mathematics in the Mathematics Education Department of Malikussaleh University during the 2024/2025 academic year. With technological support, PBL can be implemented more interactively and flexibly, enabling students to access learning resources, engage in online discussions, and develop problem-solving abilities independently. A qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through a questionnaire. The subjects of this study were students enrolled in the Mathematics Education Department at Malikussaleh University. The data analysis in this study was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. A total of 41 students participated in the study. The results showed that 6 students (15%) had high self-efficacy, 31 students (75%) had moderate self-efficacy, and 4 students (10%) had low self-efficacy. The average self-efficacy score among students was 76.47%.  Based on these findings, students of the Mathematics Education Department at Malikussaleh University can generally be categorized as having a moderate level of self-efficacy. Analysis of the questionnaire data indicates that most students put significant effort into solving the problems assigned by lecturers, and some reported never procrastinating on tasks. While some students disagreed with completing tasks only at the deadline, others disagreed with the idea of never postponing tasks and stated that they preferred to work under deadline pressure.  Strengthening this psychological construct is crucial not only for deepening students' understanding of mathematical concepts but also for improving their preparedness and effectiveness as future mathematics teachers.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an essential skill that students must possess to navigate the challenges of the digital era. It encompasses the ability to utilize technology to support learning, work, and creative activities. However, several studies indicate that many students still face limitations in the digital literacy skills required to participate optimally in today’s world. This Community Service Program was designed to enhance students’ digital literacy by providing training on the use of Renderforest.com, an online platform offering services for creating animated videos, graphic designs, and digital marketing materials. The participants consisted of 30 seventh-semester students from the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Malikussaleh. This training was conducted over two days with a total duration of 4 hours per day. The implementation methods included delivering instructional materials, hands-on practice in creating accounts and exploring Renderforest.com’s features, group discussions, and evaluation of the digital products produced by the students. The results show that 90% of the students successfully mastered Renderforest.com’s basic features, 88% demonstrated high motivation and enthusiasm, and 85% gained an understanding of the importance of digital literacy for supporting their learning and career readiness. In conclusion, the training proved effective in improving students’ digital literacy skills while equipping them with competencies that are highly relevant to the demands of the current digital age.
