Abstract

This study aimed to see the image of PT Djarum as a cigarette company during a polemic through big data approach. The public was shocked by the news that PB Djarum would terminate the Badminton scholarship that had been held for the past twelve years. It started when KPAI considered that there was an intention to exploit children using the brand of PT Djarum. Although the problem was over, the polemic had seized the public's attention. This research was an analysis of quantitative and qualitative content from Twitter social media. Quantitative analysis in the form of sentiment analysis was carried out utilising the results of 26,677 tweets data from online platforms based on big data from Drone Emprit Academic. Qualitative analysis was carried out Critical Discourse using van Dijk's model. The analysis revealed that PT Djarum has succeeded in building a positive image through its CSR program, which can be seen from the support of the majority of the Indonesian people as reflected in Twitter conversation.

Abstract

Penelitian terkait penguatan citra dan reputasi Universitas Sebelas Maret melalui kegiatan KKN mahasiswa bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana media sosial berperan dalam pembuatan citra dan reputasi sebuah institusi. Pendekatan yang digunakan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data yang bersumber dari dokumentasi dan FGD. Dari beberapa kelompok mahasiswa KKN yang diteliti didapat hasil bahwa kegiatan publikasi media sosial yang dilakukan belum dapat memenuhi tujuan utama dalam membangun branding dan reputasi UNS. Hal ini disebabkan belum adanya standarisasi publikasi melalui komunikasi digital yang seharusnya dilakukan oleh Humas UNS dan UP KKN selaku pemangku kepentingan.

Abstract

Awal tahun 2020 Indonesia dikejutkan dengan merebaknya wabah Covid-19. Hingga memasuki akhir tahun 2020,virus yang berbahaya dan mematikan ini semakin meluas penyebarannya ke seluruh penjuru Indonesia. Hal tersebutmerubah berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, salah satunya pada proses pembelajaran di lingkungan pendidikantinggi vokasi. Melalui Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, pemerintah melarang perguruan tinggi untukmelakukan perkuliahan tatap muka, dan memerintahkan untuk melakukan perkuliahan secara daring. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang akan mendeskripsikan bagaimana kendala yang ditemui mahasiswapada saat perkuliahan daring. Subjek yang diteliti adalah mahasiswa vokasi di sekolah vokasi swasta di Kota Solo.Responden berjumlah 10 orang yang mewakili beberapa angkatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metodewawancara terstruktur menggunakan media online. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara terdapat kendala yaitu, mahasiswasulit untuk menyerap semua informasi teknis karena tidak maksimalnya proses praktikum melalui sistem daring, danminimnya pemantauan dari kegiatan belajar mengajar secara daring. Terdapat kendala baik itu dari infrastrukturmaupun dari keterbatasan kegiatan praktikum bidang keahlian tertentu yang tidak bisa diserap maksimal karenaterhalang oleh interaksi jarak jauh, dan juga kendala dari metode pembelajaran dosen. Abstract

Fenomena mewabahnya virus Corona atau Covid-19 ke berbagai belahan negara di dunia memunculkan kepanikanGlobal yang memiliki efek luar biasa bagi seluruh sisi kehidupan ekonomi, politik, sosial dan budaya. Klatenmerupakan salah satu kabupaten di Indonesia yang memiliki tingkat penularan yang tinggi. Upaya untuk memutusrantai penularan Covid-19 juga terus dilakukan dengan berbagai tindangan preventif. Salah satunya denganmemberikan sosialisasi taat protokol kesehatan. Hal ini terus dilakukan karena Kabupaten Klaten sendiri sampaidengan saat ini masih menunjukkan laju persebaran virus Covid-19 yang masih tinggi. Terbukti, dengan semakinhari semakin bertambahnya masyarakat yang dinyatakan positif hingga fasilitas kesehatan yang tidak bisamenampung jumlah seluruh pasien positif Covid-19. Artikel ini membahas mengenai strategi komunikasi sosialisasitaat protokol kesehatan melalui media visual dalam upaya memutus rantai penularan Covid-19 yang dilakukan olehberbagai pihak di Kabupaten Klaten. Dalam prosesnya, peneliti menggunakan kajian dan sudut pandang teorikomunikasi antarpribadi serta metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pemilihan lokasi di Kabupaten Klaten, JawaTengah. Pendekatan Komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak baik pemerintah maupun swasta denganmenggunakan media visual yang megandung pesan-pesan untuk mematuhi protokol kesehatan yang mulai berlakusejak adanya pandemi Covid-19 demi mencengah penuluran virus ini sendiri. Melalui saluran massanger Whatsapp,pesan visual yang disebar dan mendapat respon hingga memancing adanya diskusi dengan tujuan mengajak seluruhmasyarakat untuk lebih menaati protokol kesehatan yang berlaku demi mencengah penularan virus Covid-19.Kata Kunci : Sosialisasi, Media Visual, Covid-19, Klaten

Abstract

This research aims to find out how drug dealers showed their identity communication. This research is a qualitative research which applied a case study as its research method. The data were collected by interviews. Then, the collected data were analysed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The research took place at the detention centre of the Central Java National Narcotics Board. The conclusions of this research using four layers are personal, enacted, relational, and communal on the communication of identity theory by Michael Hecht. It show that partisipants hide or disclose their identities based on how others respond to them. The stigma of others triggered partisipants to hide their identities by pretending not to know, diverting the conversation about drugs or being silent, and feeling anxious. There were also identity gaps in: (1) personal and enacted layers, (2) personal and relational layers, and (3) personal and communal layers.

Abstract

The media ecosystem in Indonesia still does not provide a safe space for marginalized religious groups. Information on marginal religious groups is commodified so that these groups are only used as objects, not news subjects who can tell their point of view. Serikat Jurnalis Untuk Keberagaman (Sejuk) seeks to combat this hegemony by advocating journalists regarding coverage of marginalized religious groups. The theory used is the Counter Hegemony Theory and the Concept of Disinformation Capitalism. The research method was descriptive qualitative with a single case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out using semi-structured interviews and the use of literature. the analysis and validity of the data in this study used triangulation techniques. the analysis was performed by data reduction and data grouping to conclude. The result of the research was that the commodification of information occurred because positive information on reporting of marginal religious groups does not generate profits, so that information is limited and not reported. The information, in this case, is political and inaccurate, which means that positive information related to the harmonious practices of marginal religious groups is overshadowed by information related to conflicts and threats against these groups. Sejuk's efforts as an organic intellectual group against media hegemony has changed the perspective of journalists in covering marginal religious groups. Journalists, who have been in contact with and received Sejuk training might write stories that do not stigmatize this group. Even so, there are challenges in the practice of Sejuk, namely the resistance to Sejuk is quite large due to increasingly intense advocacy.

Abstract

The government has prepared all levels of society to face the new normal era. Then forwarded by each local government by issuing policies and appeals related to health protocols in the new normal era. In this case, the public must also receive accurate and correct information from the government. Radio as one of the mass media, has an important role in supporting the dissemination of information about some of the new normal protocol policies. The purpose of this article is how the role of radio in socializing the new normal to the community. Radio as an extension of the government's arm to provide information whose accuracy can be accounted for and is expected to provide education to the public to implement health protocols in the new normal era.

Abstract

In the digital era of the development of YouTube social media technology, there are many video contents available, one of which is Islamic da'wah content. The use of ulama in doing da'wah on YouTube is a process of transforming ulama as communicators in preaching. By using YouTube as a da'wah channel, there has been an indirect convergence of communication elements, resulting in a blur between ulama as communicators and connoisseurs of da'wah content on YouTube as communicants. The purpose of this study is to see the transformation of ulama as da'wah communicators on YouTube as da'wah channels. This research methodology is qualitative using literature studies that look at previous studies that use content analysis and opinion polls. The results of this study show that therefore, preachers in actualizing their da'wah must understand that the content and form of da'wah are inseparable parts, but can be distinguished in the concept of da'wah. While the characteristics, delivery strategies and methods of da'wah also have an important position in da'wah. With the interactivity facilitated by digital media, the boundary between communicators and communicants is getting thinner when communicating using YouTube media.

Abstract

The Belitong Geopark, located in Tanjungpandan is one of the geopark areas that has extraordinary natural potential. The sustainability of the Belitong Geopark has become a concern in recent years, with efforts to utilize the geopark's potential to support the economic growth of local communities that have not felt a significant economic impact. At the level of business communication studies, we see that there are barriers to effective communication with the resulting economic implications. The methods of this study are observation and literature review. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using Em Griffin's semiotic analysis. The results showed that the sustainability of the Belitung Geopark has a positive influence on the economic growth of the Tanjungpandan community. The increase in Tanjungpandan community income is driven by increased tourist visits to Geopark Belitung. The increase in employment of the Tanjungpandan community is driven by the increase in economic activities related to Belitung Geopark, such as tourism, trade, and services. The increased welfare of the Tanjungpandan community is driven by increased income and employment.

Abstract

The digital era surely facilitates all matters, but if we are not careful, this period can trap us in a misdirected pit since we are not adept enough in reading. Community service in the form of socialization in Nglinggi Village is one small step toward fostering literacy, particularly digital literacy related to media ethics and understanding of online love scams, which are becoming increasingly common today and frequently confuse victims and perpetrators. The transmitted understandings and continuous debates are unquestionably the best media for crossing paths and enhancing knowledge together. The climate of conversation that was created as a result of the passion of local inhabitants demonstrated that they were interested and focused on it. Observing existing problems and the direction of discussions with experts in their fields can lead to a suggestion that digital literacy should become a common concern and enter the tiered education curriculum so that their understanding is deeper and their internet use is more optimal and positive.
