Abstract

EFL undergraduates have been making every effort to finish their theses throughout the process of thesis proposal, thesis proposal exam, writing thesis, oral thesis test, and thesis revision. This study invited four graduates of the English department who had finished their thesis within six months or less. They were interviewed in-depth via Zoom to reveal the tactics and solutions they had used to succeed in their undergraduate thesis. The authors used a narrative inquiry case study to justify their experiences, solutions, and strategies in writing their thesis. The participants understood the difficulty of conducting research and writing a thesis but overcame it through perseverance, determination, and self-discipline. They did various research preparation tasks during the thesis proposal, such as reading related sources to strengthen their references and learning how to create a thesis. They lacked the confidence to attend the thesis proposal exam, but they prepared it at their best. They could complete each section of the thesis with the help of their peers and advisor. Maintaining positive relationships with one's mentor, examiner, and peers could help them feel more confident in their writing and reduce the stress associated with writing a thesis. They calmed their tension, reread all thesis chapters, and practiced their presentation to ace their thesis examination. They were able to complete their thesis revision on schedule due to the guidance of their thesis mentor and an encouraging examiner. How further research solutions of the four participants were elucidated in this study.

Abstract

Fenomena yang terjadi disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesadaran disiplin belajar  siswa MTs di Sidoarjo yaitu terlambat datang sekolah, bolos, tidak mengerjakan tugas, dan berbagai pelanggaran tata tertib sekolah. Tujuan pebnelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap disiplin belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pra-eksperimen one group pretest-post test design. Hasil perhitungan menggunakan teknik statistik non-parametrik uji Wilcoxon. Hipotesis dapat dibuktikan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII MTs di Sidoarjo antara sebelum dan sesudah diberi treatment.

Abstract

Kesehatan mental merupakan kondisi sehat dan sejahtera, yang memungkinkan individu untuk berinteraksi secara positif dengan orang lain, dan mengatasi perubahan hidup. Kesehatan mental bukan hanya tidak memiliki penyakit mental atau gangguan psikologis, melainkan juga kemampuan untuk beradaptasi dan berfungsi secara baik. Banyak siswa di berbagai negara seperti di Amerika Serikat maupun Indonesia yang membutuhkan layanan kesehatan mental nyatanya belum terlayani, sehingga berdampak pada masalah dalam perkembangan emosi, sosial maupun akademiknya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi peran konselor dalam memberikan layanan kesehatan mental berbasis sekolah. Metode penelitian adalah studi literature dari berbagai kajian artikel jurnal bereputasi dan ebook yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa keterlibatan konselor sekolah dalam memberikan dukungan dan layanan kesehatan mental rendah, karena keterbatasan sumber daya di sekolah, dan bervariasinya tanggung jawab konselor sekolah. Implementasi program perlunya akses secara langsung dengan sekolah dengan mengintegrasikan pendidikan kesehatan mental ke dalam kurikulum sekolah.

Abstract

Kemampuan menjalin hubungan interpersonal dapat mempengaruhi popularitas individu dalam suatu kelompok. Namun permasalahan atau luka psikologis dalam hubungan interpersonal tidak dapat dihindari. Berbagai kajian teoritis mendukung pemaafan sebagai salah satu pendekatan untuk menangani masalah interpersonal. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis psikodinamika memaafkan dalam hubungan interpersonal. Desain penelitian adalah kualitatif, pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka dengan kata kunci angry, forgiveness therapy, interpersonal relationship. Sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara tematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berbagai perspektif teoritis dapat menerima konsep pengampunan sebagai intervensi psikologis untuk mengatasi masalah interpersonal. Ada sebagian kecil pendapat yang menolak konsep pengampunan, karena menganggap memaafkan korban pelanggaran identik dengan ketidakadilan. Sedangkan pendapat yang mendukung konsep pemaafan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan psikologis korban dan pelaku pelanggaran dalam jangka panjang. Perspektif kognitif sosial menghubungkan konsep pemaafan dengan faktor relasional. Perspektif psikoanalis menghubungan dengan upaya untuk melepaskan insting agresif untuk mendukung kebutuhan ego. Perspektif konstruk personal berkaitan dengan penemuan makna baru dari beragam konstruk yang dimiliki individu, sedangkan dari perspektif moral berkaitan dengan penalaran keadilan yang bersifat relativis di tahap perkembangan moral paska konvensional. Lebih lanjut implikasi penelitian didiskusikan.

Abstract

Kepercayaan menjadi komponen penting dalam membentuk dan mempertahankan suatu hubungan interpersonal. Begitu pula kepercayaan diri adalah salah satu sifat baik yang harus dimiliki individu. Sifat penting yang membentuk kepercayaan dasar adalah perasaan akan kebaikan esensial seseorang dan perasaan mencintai diri. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis isu kepercayaan dalam kajian kesehatan mental. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif, yakni melalui berbagai kajian pustaka yang diperoleh dari ebook maupun artikel jurnal bereputasi yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik tematik. Hasil penelitian mengacu dari beberapa temuan empiris, di mana pengalaman kelekatan membentuk kepercayaan, atau sebaliknya sikap kewaspadaan pada orang lain. Perasaan aman yang diperoleh dari pengalaman kelekatan berhubungan negatif dengan permasalahan eksternal maupun internal, serta hasil akademik yang merugikan. Implikasi penelitian mengarah pada pentingnya kesesuaian antara informasi, kognisi dan afeksi sebelum memberikan kepercayaan pada orang lain.

Abstract

Importance study see literature: understand anger teenagers, give understanding comprehensive about anger teenagers,  consider influencing factors, as well as intervention effective development. Teenagers who express anger in family interactions may become depressed or even create a negative network affect. Remember that during this period, teenagers' sensitivity to anger increases significantly. Study This aim is to explore contributing factors to anger among teenagers as well as interventions effective for overcoming it. Method study: use observation References systematic For comprehensive analysis to study anger among teenagers, with do data tracking systematic from PsycINFO, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Study focus on published articles in 10 (10) years last, i.e., 2014–2024. A systematic review of the literature reveals that both internal and external factors contribute to adolescent anger, as well as the importance of effective intervention for overcoming these factors. Internal factors such as hormonal changes, cognitive development, difficulties regulating emotions, and mental health conditions all contribute to adolescent anger, as do external factors such as conflict, family, relationships, friends, peers, and social influences such as social media and technology. The effectiveness of the intervention is supported by various empirical proofs; all at once, impressive research shows the importance of understanding connection consequences for anger in teenagers and developing more intervention-strict approaches through a holistic approach.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and peer support on academic procrastination in preparing a thesis for batch 2020 FPP students at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya. This type of research is quantitative. The sample used simple random sampling and amounted to 104 students. The data collection method in this study used a measurement scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis, which aims to predict the effect between variables, including the t-test, f-test, and R2. The result showed that (1) self-efficacy has a negative and significant effect on academic procrastination in preparing a thesis, which is -0.726 and 0,000<0,05. (2) peer support has a negative and significant effect on academic procrastination in preparing a thesis, which is -0.156 and 0,019<0,05. (3) self-efficacy and peer support have simultaneous and significant effects on academic procrastination in preparing a thesis, which is 72,164 and 0,000<0,05.

Abstract

Smartphones have become an integral part of modern society, offering a wide range of functions and various positive and negative consequences. Smartphone addiction is associated with adverse mental health outcomes, underscoring the need for further exploration of mental health problems caused by intense smartphone use. The research aims to analyze the prevalence of smartphone addiction and the factors underlying it; as well as the psychological and physiological mechanisms underlying this relationship. The research design uses an exploratory approach to analyze the phenomenon of smartphone addiction in depth, regarding individual lives. Data collection uses a literature review, while data analysis is carried out thematically, and credibility is tested by checking data sources. The research results show that the prevalence of smartphone addiction ranges between 10% - 60% of smartphone users in most of the population, and the percentage is higher for male participants than female participants. The research contributions and implications provide important insights into the phenomenon of smartphone addiction and creating a healthier relationship with technology, by highlighting the prevalence of smartphone addiction in various populations, as well as explaining the psychological and physiological mechanisms underlying the relationship through the interaction of the dopaminergic system, emotion regulation, and the development of the disorder mental health.

Abstract

Career is an important thing in the development of an individual's life. Likewise for students who undergo career stages according to the stages of development. This service focuses on providing career guidance and counseling services that are packaged in classical guidance services and career interest aptitude tests. This service is given to class XII students of SMK Sunan Ampel Menganti Gresik. From the results of the service, it is obtained a career description that has been designed by each student and the results of the career interest aptitude test which provide an explanation regarding the career personality of each student.

Abstract

Counseling is professional assistance provided by a counselor to a counselee. In a counseling relationship, personal qualities required by the counselor include empathy, congruence and respect. Counseling covers all aspects of life, one of which is addiction counseling. Counselors need to understand addiction counseling, namely so that the counselor has the goal of understanding behavior, motivations and knowing the feelings of the client, this goal is not limited to understanding the client. Counselors who already understand addiction counseling in helping the counselee's recovery, namely by knowing the counselee's self-understanding through group therapy (group counseling) and individual counseling which is a counseling activity that attempts to change the resident's behavior while undergoing the program. By providing addiction counseling practices, it can also be used to increase the personality competence of guidance and counseling teachers. In an effort to improve this competency, the guidance and counseling study program at PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya provides community service related to the practice of addiction counseling to school counselors in the MGBK (Guidance and Counseling Teachers' Conference) at the SMP/MTs level. in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java
