Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the intensity of boycott campaigns and the intention to participate in such campaigns, with a focus on the mediating role of boycott intention and the moderating effect of access to substitute products. Using a correlational approach, data from 210 respondents in the Kendari community who participated in the boycott of pro-Israel products were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The findings reveal that the intensity of a boycott campaign significantly enhances boycott intention by increasing consumer awareness and involvement. However, campaign intensity does not directly translate into actual participation due to barriers such as skepticism about the boycott’s effectiveness and campaign fatigue. Boycott intention, on the other hand, has a strong positive influence on participation, particularly among consumers motivated by moral and social values. While access to substitute products does not significantly moderate the relationship between boycott intention and participation, its availability positively impacts participation by reducing the personal costs associated with the boycott. Boycott intention serves as the primary mediator between campaign intensity and participation, indicating that more intense campaigns foster greater intention to participate. The study highlights the theoretical and practical importance of understanding campaign intensity, consumer responses, and the role of ethical values and social solidarity in boycott dynamics. Additionally, the availability of substitute products remains a relevant factor in facilitating participation. This research also opens avenues for further exploration into the influence of cultural factors on boycott behavior.

Abstract

The availability of sufficient blood supplies is essential for fulfilling medical requirements, particularly in emergency scenarios. In Indonesia, the Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia, PMI) is tasked with managing blood supplies across various regions, including Metro City. However, the current donor data management system at PMI Metro City is not yet fully optimized, potentially undermining efforts to meet local blood demands. Inconsistent donor data management poses significant challenges to blood transfusion processes, especially during emergencies. To address these inefficiencies, this study aims to develop a database system integrated with a Web-based Geographic Information System (WebGIS). The proposed WebGIS platform provides an interactive and informative visualization of blood donor distribution across Metro City. The system development follows a structured methodology comprising several phases: planning, data identification, WebGIS development using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Leaflet, and web hosting. The key outcomes of this research include a well-structured database and an interactive web-based map for identifying donor locations. The WebGIS system enhances PMI’s capacity to optimize blood supply strategies, particularly for urgent medical needs, by improving real-time visibility and management of donor data.

Abstract

Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) are known to be of low quality and have minimal achievement of school quality indicators. This study demonstrates the direct and indirect influence of management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement on school quality. The sampling technique was stratified cluster random sampling, with a sample size of 400 administrators spread across 15 East Java Province, Indonesia cities. The research design used a quantitative approach with a structured equation model (SEM). Data collection used questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results showed that management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement significantly influenced school quality. Management innovation implemented by the principal and management team was proven to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process and school governance. The high school ethos is reflected in teacher enthusiasm, student discipline, and a positive culture within the school environment, directly impacting educational service quality. Meanwhile, community involvement from parents, the school committee, and the surrounding environment strengthens support for school programs, both in material and moral aspects. These three variables simultaneously contribute to improving school quality, both in terms of student academic achievement, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the school's reputation in the eyes of the community.

Abstract

Namun, terdapat pula faktor penghambat seperti lemahnya kebijakan pemidanaan, konflik kepentingan institusional, minimnya sanksi sosial, keterbatasan sumber daya, serta kompleksitas birokrasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation business in the intensive pond system at CV Jaya Tirta Vannamei, Probolinggo, East Java. The research applied a qualitative descriptive approach combined with SWOT analysis to evaluate both internal and external factors affecting the business. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then processed to generate alternative development strategies. The results show that CV Jaya Tirta Vannamei possesses strong internal resources such as experienced human resources, reliable production facilities, and good management capabilities. Externally, the company benefits from the rising demand for vannamei shrimp in domestic and global markets, the availability of modern aquaculture technology, and supportive government policies. Nevertheless, some challenges exist, including fluctuating shrimp prices, vulnerability to disease outbreaks, and relatively high operational costs, which may influence business continuity if not addressed effectively. Based on the SWOT analysis, the most appropriate development strategy is the S-O (Strengths–Opportunities) strategy, with an alternative strategy score of 3.72. The recommended strategies are: (1) increasing shrimp production through the adoption of advanced and sustainable cultivation technology, (2) developing and maintaining a reliable water quality management system to enhance productivity, (3) utilizing skilled human resources to strengthen innovation in cultivation techniques, and (4) ensuring the availability of sufficient and quality feed to support continuous production growth. In conclusion, implementing the S-O strategy provides an effective pathway for CV Jaya Tirta Vannamei to optimize its internal strengths in response to external opportunities. By improving technology application, strengthening resource utilization, and enhancing production management, the company can secure competitive advantage, increase productivity, and ensure long-term sustainability in the rapidly growing aquaculture industry.

Abstract

This article is a legal research that discusses the legal protection of local tambora coffee products as a product of geographical indications in the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Writing this article aims to analyze the form of legal protection for local Tambora coffee products as a product of geographical indications in the Province of NTB. Method the method used is normative legal research, with several approaches used, namely, the statutory approach, the concept approach, the historical approach, and the analytical approach. Novelty , from this research it was found that legal facts had not been optimal in legal protection efforts for local Tambora coffee products as a product of geographical indications by the local government in NTB. The discussion from this study found the fact that legal protection efforts for local tambora coffee products as a product of geographical indications by the local government in NTB were not optimal. The local government in NTB needs to guarantee legal protection for Tambora coffee as a geographical indication in order to maintain the uniqueness of local products as a regional identity so as to avoid claims by other regions for local Tambora coffee products to be able to compete nationally and internationally. In conclusion , legal protection for local Tambora coffee products as a geographical indication product in NTB Province is not optimal. The lack of attention and supervision by the regional government in protecting the local Tambora coffee product as a geographical indication is at least indicated by the absence of regional legal products in the form of Regional Regulations (Perda) and/or Perkada which guarantee legal protection for local Tambora coffee products as a geographical indication product. Likewise, the implementation of legal protection and supervision of local Tambora coffee products as a product of geographical indications in the province of NTB still tends to be weak. The local government in NTB neglected to guarantee supervision and legal protection for local Tambora coffee products as a geographical indication. Even though it does not rule out the possibility that Tambora coffee can be branded /marketed as a product that is not only worth selling in the region but can also compete in national and international markets.

Abstract

Verdict verstek is a decision rendered by a judge in a civil case when the defendant is absent without a valid reason at the first hearing even though it has been properly summoned. However, in practice, not a few defendants feel disadvantaged because they do not get a fair opportunity to defend themselves, so they file an opposition to the decision. This study aims to analyze the legal aspects of the mechanism of resistance to verstek decisions in civil cases in Indonesia, including the legal basis, requirements, procedures, and obstacles faced in its implementation. This research uses a normative juridical method with a statutory approach, and reviews several relevant court decisions. The results of the study show that opposition to a verdict is regulated in Article 124 HIR / Article 125 RBg which gives the defendant the right to file a verdict within 14 days of being notified of the verdict. Concretely, it was found that many challenges were rejected because they did not meet the deadline, were not supported by sufficient evidence, or because the reason for the defendant's absence was not considered valid by the court. In the judicial process, judges have an important role in conducting legal discovery and applying substantive justice through ex officio authority. Thus, the resulting decisions are not only oriented towards legal certainty, but also protect the welfare of the community and consider aspects of social needs. The Indonesian judicial system is expected to treat every justice seeker with respect and fairness as a whole human being through the verzet mechanism and the active role of judges.
