Abstract

Stunting prevention in high-risk families, particularly regarding environmental factors, remains a significant issue in Bengkulu Province as an area characterized by limited access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation, both key indicators of stunting risk. This study aimed to identify factors associated with the risk of stunting among families in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. A cross-sectional approach was employed using secondary data from the 2021 Population Survey (PK21) of Bengkulu Province, which included 436,490 families. Univariate, bivariate (chi-square), and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted. The results showed that 83.1% of families in Bengkulu Province were not at risk of stunting. Factors significantly associated with stunting risk included the occupation and educational level of the head of household, health insurance status, household income adequacy, housing ownership status, and exposure to information through media and health officers (p < 0.001). Families with heads of household working as farmers and those with heads who did not complete elementary school had the highest prevalence of stunting risk. Families without health insurance, inadequate income, rent-free housing, and no exposure to the Bangga Kencana program through media or officers also exhibited a higher prevalence of stunting risk. Logistic regression analysis revealed that families not receiving Bangga Kencana information from officers were 1.08 times more likely to be at risk of stunting (95% CI = 1.05–11). In conclusion, demographic factors and information exposure were identified as critical risk factors for stunting among families in Bengkulu Province. These findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions and information dissemination in reducing stunting risk.

Abstract

Background : Mental health among adolescents is significantly affected by various risk factors, particularly anxiety, which can hinder academic performance and overall well-being. This research aims to identify the anxiety risk factors among students at STIKES Al-Su'aibah, highlighting the prevalence and impact of these factors on their mental health. Method: A quantitative descriptive study was conducted using closed questionnaires to collect structured data from students. This approach allows for the measurement and comparison of responses, enabling the identification of specific patterns and characteristics related to anxiety risk. Results: Out of 138 participants, 53.3% reported no anxiety, while 43.3% experienced mild to moderate anxiety, with 3.3% facing severe anxiety. Factors influencing anxiety include academic pressure, limited social support, and lifestyle choices such as dietary habits and physical activity levels. Notably, the study found a significant relationship between smoking and anxiety levels (p = 0,02). Conclusion : The findings indicate a notable prevalence of anxiety among students, underscoring the need for enhanced mental health screening and support programs at educational institutions. Strategies such as counseling, stress management training, and community-building activities are recommended to promote the psychological well-being of students.

Abstract

Abstract

Problem: Adolescent girls are very susceptible to anemia, especially those who have menstruated. Anemia in adolescents is caused by nutritional deficiencies, especially iron and folic acid. Due to poor knowledge of diet or incorrect understanding of the body's need for macro- and micronutrients, this intake is low. Anemia in adolescent girls is still a major health problem because its prevalence is still above 20%, namely 21.7%. The Aim Of The Research: This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition education on knowledge of anemia prevention among female adolescents at MTsN 02 Bengkulu City. Research Method: For this research, a quasi-experimental research design with a pre-test-post-test control group design was used. The population is all young women at MTsN 02 Bengkulu City with a sample of 112 respondents. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire, before being given education, respondents are given a pretest, then the education is given using the lecture method with leaflets and the animated video method, carried out in 3 meetings with a distance of 1 day and after the 3rd meeting they are immediately given a post test with the same questionnaire. Results: there is an effect of providing nutrition education using the animated video method on increasing knowledge of young women about anemia at MTsN 02 Bengkulu City, shown by a p-value of 0.018, which means a p-value <0.05. Conclusion: The animated video method has a significant impact in increasing awareness of young women about how to prevent anemia.
