Abstract

Bunga bangkai (Amorphophallus titanum (Becc.) Becc.) merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan endemik yang ditemukan di TNGL dengan status terancam (endangered) berdasarkan IUCN. Disamping itu, (Amorphophallus titanum (Becc.) Becc.) juga telah masuk daftar tumbuhan di lindungi di Indonesia berdasarkan peraturan kementerian lingkungan hidup dan kehutanan republik Indonesi sejak 2018. Populasi bunga bangkai (Amorphophallus titanum (Becc.) Becc.) di alam telah mengalami penurunan pada beberapa tahun terakhir akibat deforestasi dan kerusakan habitat terutama aktivitas alih fungsi lahan hutan menjadi lahan pertanian, perkebunan, dan pemukiman. Tujuannya adalah untuk mendukung upaya konservasi berkelanjutan di Kawasan Ekowisata Batu Katak, Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser Sumatra Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksplorasi dan menggunakan modeling distribusi geografis maxent. Hasil penelitian ditemukan sebanyak 12 individu Amorphophallus titanum, dan setelah di lakukan permodelan maxent menunjukkan bahwasannya faktor lingkungan yang paling berpengaruh ialah suhu rata rata kuartal terbasah dengan nilai ambang batas 15-20 oC Kata kunci : Amorphophallus titanum, karakteristik , Distribusi Geografis

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan diversifikasi limbah lidi kelapa sawit menjadi aneka produk kerajinan tangan bernilai ekonomis kepada 25 anggota kelompok Wanita tani Musara Gayo desa batu bedulang dalam rangka meningkatkan income generating bagi anggota kelompok. sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan praktis dalam menciptakan aneka produk kerajinan tangan berbahan lidi sawit, Metode yang digunakan adalah participatory action research dan transfer teknologi melalui serangkaian tahapan kegiatan antaranya koordinasi, sosialisasi, pelaksanaan kegiatan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. ..Seluruh tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan terangkum melalui lembar posttest dimana 10 anggota kelompok (40%) mengetahui teknik perautan lidi sawit yang baik, 8 anggota kelompok (35%) sangat mengetahui teknik akhir mengkilatkan produk, 18 angota kelompok (72%) mengetahui teknik pembuatan bagian bawah produk,16 anggota kelompok (66%) cukup mengetahui berapa jenis produk kerajinan yang dihasilkan, 5 anggota kelompok (23%) mengetahui peralatan yang digunakan selama masa produksi, Disimpulkan bahwa 46,3% anggota kelompok mengetahui materi pemilihan dan pengumpulan bahan baku dan 54,5% anggota kelompok mengetahui materi pelembutan dan pemrosesan lidi sawit. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa diversifikasi produk limbah lidi sawit sangat membantu mitra dalam mempercepat dan memberikan nilai tambah ekonomis bagi anggota kelompok.Abstract: This community service (PKM) aims to introduce the diversification of oil palm leaf waste into various economically valuable handmade craft products to 25 members of the Musara Gayo women's farmer group at Batu Bedulang Village, in order to increase income generation for group members, while simultaneously enhancing practical skills in creating various craft products made from palm leaf sticks. The methods used are participatory action research and technology transfer through a series of activities, including coordination, socialization, implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation. All stages of the activities are summarized through a post-test sheet, where 10 group members (40%) are familiar with the proper technique for shaving palm leaf sticks, 8 members (35%) are very familiar with the technique for polishing the final product, 18 members (72%) are familiar with the technique for making the bottom part of the product, 16 members (66%) are sufficiently familiar with the types of craft products produced, and 5 members (23%) are familiar with the equipment used during the production process. It is concluded that 46.3% of group members understand the material for selecting and gathering raw materials, and 54.5% of group members understand the material for softening and processing palm leaf sticks. This shows that the diversification of oil palm leaf waste products greatly helps partners in accelerating and providing economic added value for group members.

Abstract

Hutan mangrove merupakan ekosistem penting yang menyediakan berbagai jasa ekosistem, namun mengalami tekanan antropogenik yang menyebabkan penurunan kualitas dan kuantitas habitat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji komposisi jenis dan struktur komunitas mangrove di kawasan ekowisata Hutan Mangrove Kuala Langsa, Aceh. Metode Line-Transect Plot digunakan pada tiga stasiun, yaitu area pertambakan, area komersial, dan area tower mangrove. Data dianalisis berdasarkan kerapatan relatif, frekuensi relatif, dominansi relatif, serta indeks Shannon-Wiener untuk menilai keanekaragaman. Hasil menunjukkan sebanyak 16 jenis mangrove ditemukan dari 10 genus dan 8 famili. Stasiun 1 (area pertambakan) memiliki nilai indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi (H’ = 1,985) dengan keseragaman tinggi (J’= 0,862) dan dominansi rendah (C < 0,5), mencerminkan komunitas yang stabil dan beragam. Sebaliknya, Stasiun 2 dan 3 menunjukkan keanekaragaman yang lebih rendah (H’ = 0,543 dan 0,877) dengan keseragaman sedang hingga rendah (J’= 0,279 dan 0,422) serta dominansi tinggi akibat dominasi Rhizophora apiculata. Akibat dominansi oleh Rhizophora apiculata, berpotensi mengurangi keanekaragaman hayati secara fungsional. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengelolaan berkelanjutan, berbasis ekosistem yang mengintegrasikan konservasi mangrove berpotensi meningkatkan keanekaragaman spesies. Implikasi hasil ini menekankan perlunya pengelolaan terpadu yang mempertimbangkan aspek ekologis dan sosial ekonomi guna menjaga keberlanjutan habitat mangrove di Kota Langsa. Kata kunci: diversitas, ekowisata, line-transect plot, mangrove.

Abstract

Indonesia is a center of biodiversity, including the green betel plant (Piper betle L) which has long been used in traditional traditions and medicine. This study aims to identify the use of green betel leaves, the types of diseases treated and the processing methods as traditional medicine by local people in Serang Jaya Hilir Village, Pematang Jaya District, Langkat Regency. The study was conducted in four hamlets of Serang Jaya Hilir Village with a qualitative research type using a quantitative descriptive method. In this study, the selection of respondents was carried out using the purposive sampling method, meaning that the data taken was based on community understanding related to the use of green betel leaves as traditional medicine, consisting of 10 respondents. The data is presented in the form of tables and graphs with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that people use green betel leaves to treat 10 types of diseases, including vaginal discharge, eye irritation, itching, bad breath, body odor, toothache, stomachache, cough, strengthening teeth, and nosebleeds. The method of processing and using betel leaves varies according to the type of disease, such as boiling, chewing, pounding, or rolling. Leucorrhea is the most frequently mentioned complaint, indicating public trust in the effectiveness of green betel leaves in traditional medicine. This study is important as education regarding the safe use and preservation of green betel leaf resources so that they remain sustainable. Suggestions, the need for further scientific studies on the active content, and side effects of green betel leaves, as well as innovation of processed products so that their use is safer and wider.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan keanekaragaman dan potensi tumbuhan obat yang terdapat di wilayah kampus Universitas Samudra. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi eksplorasi lapangan langsung dan telaah pustaka untuk mengetahui manfaat dan bagian tumbuhan yang umum dimanfaatkan sebagai obat. Hasil penelitian mencatat 27 jenis tumbuhan obat dengan jumlah individu tumbuhan sebanyak 1.676 individu. Jenis tumbuhan yang paling dominan adalah Rhoeo discolor sebanyak 763 individu. Bagian tumbuhan yang paling sering dimanfaatkan adalah daun (63,89%), diikuti bunga dan buah. Penyakit yang paling sering diobati adalah batuk (18,18%), hipertensi (10,91%), serta demam dan luka (masing-masing 7,27%). Nilai indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener sebesar 2,15 menunjukkan tingkat keanekaragaman jenis sedang. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa wilayah kampus memiliki potensi yang signifikan sebagai sumber tumbuhan obat untuk pengembangan obat herbal berbasis lokal. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini berfungsi sebagai referensi ilmiah yang berharga untuk pendidikan, pelestarian lingkungan, pengembangan kebun obat kampus, dan pelestarian pengetahuan tradisional.

Abstract

Kluet Utara is an area with high biodiversity, including medicinal plant species, which have been used for generations. However, traditional knowledge regarding the use of plants as medicine is threatened by modernization. This study aims to determine the diversity of medicinal plant species and their use in medicine by the local communites in Kluet Utara sub-district, South Aceh. The study was conducted in Gunung Pudung Village and Suaq Geuringgeng Village, Kluet Utara sub-district, South Aceh district, Indonesia. Data on the use of plants as medicine were collected through interviews involving 103 randomly selected informants. A total of 69 species of medicinal plants belonging to 36 botanical families were recorded in the study areas. Curcuma longa, Zingiber officinale, Cocos nucifera,Adenostemma lavenia, Blumea balsamifera, Piper betle, Colubrina asiatica, Gardenia jasminoides, and Citrus × aurantiifolia are species commonly used by the local communities in Kluet Utara. These plants are used to treat various types of diseases, both infectious and degenerative diseases.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the diversity of plant species used in traditional ceremonies of the Alas tribe in Babul Rahmah District, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. The Alas tribe’s cultural practices are deeply intertwined with the use of plants in rituals such as pesijuk, tepung tawar, majun, and kendukhi khak-khak. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through field observations and semi-structured interviews with 155 informants, aged 16 to 70, selected through purposive sampling. The informants included elders, religious leaders, and community members knowledgeable about local traditions. The results identified 35 plant species from 21 families used in traditional ceremonies, with Cocos nucifera (coconut) and Areca catechu (betel nut) from the Arecaceae family being the most prominent. These plants hold symbolic significance, representing purification, life, and honor in ritual contexts. Additionally, species from the Zingiberaceae family, such as Zingiber officinale (ginger) and Curcuma longa (turmeric), are frequently used in majun ceremonies for spiritual purification and protection. The study also highlighted a decline in ethnobotanical knowledge among younger generations, with only 40% of informants aged 16–30 demonstrating extensive knowledge of the plants used in ceremonies, compared to 85% among those aged 50 and above. This decline is largely due to modernization and the lack of integration of traditional knowledge into formal education. The research underscores the importance of preserving ethnobotanical knowledge through collaboration between traditional institutions and educational bodies, emphasizing the role of tradition-based education in mitigating the loss of cultural heritage.

Abstract

Indonesia is a mega biodiversity country with great biodiversity abundant as flora and fauna. One of the plants that contributes in the richness of flora in Indonesia, namely orchids. Orchids are a group of plants belonging to the Orchidaceae family. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of the Orchidaceaefamily and find out characteristics of the orchidaceae family. This research was conducted in May 2024 in the Tangkahan area, Namo Sialang village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatera. This research was conducted using an exploratory method (exploration) by directly observing the orchids at the research location. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. Data analysis carried out by describing the spescies obtained based on morphology, identified, and made a key to the determinationpresented in form tables and figures. Based on the results of research on orchids types (Orchidaceae) which is found in the Tangkahan area, Langkat regency, North Sumatera as many as 13 species belonging to 10 genera, namely Acriopsis liliifolia, Archnis flos-aeris, Cattleya intermedia, Cymbidium finlaysonianum, Dendrobium aphyllum, Dendrobium cretaceum, Dendrobium crumenatum, Epidendrum rigidum, Phalaenopsis amabilis, Phalaenopsis equestris, Spathoglottis plicata, Trimezia martinicensis, and Vanda tricolor. Every speies of orchid found to have different characteristics ranging from stems, leaves, flowers, and their living habitat.

Abstract

Gastropoda merupakan salah satu kelompok hewan laut yang memiliki peran penting dalam ekosistem pesisir, baik sebagai detritivore maupun indikator Kesehatan lingkungan. Keanekaragaman dan distribusi gastropoda di suatu wilayah dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah jenis alat tangkap yang digunakan nelayan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman spesies gastropooda yang tertangkap sebagai hasil sampingan dari penggunaan alat tangkap tradisional oleh nelayan di Desa Pematang Cengal, Kecamatan Tanjung Pura, Kabupaten Langkat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Maret – Meo 2025 menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif melalui survei langsung dan wawancara. Tiga jenis alat tangkap tradisional diamati, yaitu jating pukat (Nelayan I), uncang (Nelayan II), dan tojok (Nelayan III). Identifikasi spesies dilakukan dengan database World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) dan dianalisis dengan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener (H’) serta indeks dominansi (D). Sebanyak 11 spesies gastropoda dari 10 famili berhasil diidentifikasi, dengan total 358 individu. Jumlah individu terbanyak diperoleh dari jaring pukat (58), diikuti tojok (103), dan uncang (97). Nilai H’ berkisar 0,755 – 0,925 menunjukkan keanekaragaman tergolong rendah, sedangkan nilai D < 0,5 pada semua alat tangkap mengindikasikan tidak adanya spesies dominan. Spesies yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah Pugilina cochlidium, Turritella terebra, dan Nassarius olivaceus. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis alat tangkap tradisional memengaruhi komposisi dan keanekaragaman gastropoda di perairan Desa Pematang Cengal.
