Abstract

Abstract

Background: The MCH Book is a tool for the early detection of any disturbances or health problems for mothers and children. This book is important, but its use is not optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the factors that influence the use of maternal and child health books by mothers. Methods: This study uses an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach with a sampling technique using an accidental sampling technique with a sample of 78 people. Respondents were selected who met the age of 22–40 years, could read and write, and were willing to be respondents. This study used a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire and was measured using a scale. The data was analyzed by multiple linear regression tests using SPSS for Windows version 22. Results: Variable knowledge and attitudes together (simultaneously) have a significant effect on the utilization of MCH books. The results of the statistical test obtained p value = 0.021 on the knowledge variable, p = 0.000 on the attitude variable, where p < (0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of the millennial generation of pregnant women towards the use of MCH books at the Pacar Keling Health Center. It is hoped that millennial-generation pregnant women will not only seek information about health through social media/the internet but also by reading and understanding the contents of the MCH book.

Abstract

Abstract

Most caesarean wounds resulted in infection. This become a huge burden on the health care system, considering the high number of women undergoing this type of surgery. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has been recommended for a wide variety of lesions including open abdominal wounds. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of prophylactic NPWT on infection in obese women after a C-section. This was a systematic review and meta-analysis study that used articles from online databases of EBSCO, Google Scholar, and PubMed which published until 2022. The dependent variable was infections post C-section, while the independent were NPWT and standard wound therapy. The data was analyzed by RevMan 5.3. This study showed that there is no difference in the outcome of superficial site infection (SSI), deep site infection (DSI), wound dehiscence, seroma, and hematoma between women with obesity after caesarean delivery who used NPWT and standard dressing.

Abstract

The government has established a health protocol for the adaptation of new habits, one of which is the use of cloth masks for healthy people. The public's indiscipline with wearing cloth masks as a government preventive effort in preventing the transmission of Covid-19 has led to an increase in Covid-19 cases. The aim of the study was to analyze the literature review on the effectiveness of using cloth masks in preventing the transmission of Covid-19. The research design was a literature review. The search for the articles discussed used several databases, including Pubmed, Ebscohost, Proquest, ScienceDirect, and Wiley Online with a span of 1 January - 29 July 2020. The keywords used to search for these articles were covid-19, coronavirus, 2019 n-cov, coronavirus disease, cloth masks, non-medical masks. The type of article used is a research article. Collected articles were reselected using inclusion criteria, namely: 1) the purpose of the article was to analyze the effectiveness of cloth masks in preventing the transmission of Covid-19, 2) were experimental and qualitative research, and exclusion criteria, namely 1) not a full text article, 2) the article don't use English. After the keyword search process, 13,268 articles were obtained from all databases used. Then the article selection was carried out, 8 articles that met the criteria were selected, 7 articles which concluded that the use of cloth masks was not recommended in preventing the transmission of Covid-19. There is only 1 article that mentions the combination of several variations of cloth that are used globally for the production of cloth masks has the ability to protect the respiratory organs from the transmission of aerosol particles. Based on this, it was concluded that the use of cloth masks was less effective in preventing the transmission of Covid-19, but the use of cloth masks was much better than not wearing a mask at all.
