Abstract

Indoor learning and teaching activities definitely require comfort so that the activities run well, calmly and comfortably. The aim of this research is to determine changes in room temperature over time in the Geography Department, FMIPA, Makassar State University. This research was conducted in FI 106, FI 107 and PPG rooms. The type of research used is descriptive research by processing data from field measurements to see the thermal comfort conditions in the Geography Department lecture hall, Makassar State University. The results showed that the room temperature changed over time. The room temperature from 08.00 to 14.00 has a significant temperature difference. The highest average measurement was in the PPG room, namely 30℃, while the lowest average temperature was in the FI 106 room, namely 29.5. The three rooms have an average temperature above the optimal comfort scale, namely 29.7℃. The lowest average temperature was obtained at 08.00 and the highest average temperature at 14.00 reached 32.2℃. This research has implications for efforts to handle thermal comfort problems in study rooms as a support for learning activities on the Geography Department campus, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Makassar State University

Abstract

The increase in population results in an increase in the amount of water supply needed to carry out all activities of the population.  Groundwater is a very important alternative source, especially during the dry season. This research aims to determine the distribution of groundwater potential in Pangkajene Regency and the islands which can be used as a reference and information regarding areas that have groundwater potential. By using the overlay method through the use of geographic information systems. This method is carried out by scoring each parameter used, namely giving a value and weighting according to the classification of each parameter. The analysis process was carried out with the help of the ArcGIS 10.8 mapping application. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in this research, it was found that Pangkep Regency as a whole has a moderate level of groundwater potential, this can be seen from the percentage of 60.26% of the total area of Pangkajene Regency or around 476.4302954 km2 has groundwater potential. which is being. In this case, the government needs to carry out regular monitoring and evaluation of groundwater conditions in areas with medium potential including Tondong Talassa, Minasa Tene, Pangkajene, and Bungoro sub-districts to ensure that the quality and quantity of groundwater do not decline to low or very low. As well as carrying out detailed exploration and inventory of groundwater potential in areas with high levels such as in the Mandalle, Marang, and Labakkang subdistricts.

Abstract

Rural areas that may still be difficult to get 4G signals are caused by the diversetopography of the region and uneven landscapes, especially in mountainous areaswhich result in weakness in signal reception in the area. To get 4G signal coveragein this area, it is necessary to have a repeater in the form of an antenna thatfunctions as a signal booster in the area. In this study, a helix antenna consistingof ten windings at the uplink (1710-1785 Mhz) and downlink (1805-1880 Mhz)4G LTE frequencies was designed. It is hoped that this antenna can produce highergain and a more focused beam, with the aim of strengthening 4G signals in ruralareas. The antenna design was tested through the use of CST Studio Suitesoftware. The antenna design has been simulated using CST Studio Suitesoftware. After optimizing the simulation results, a return loss of -14 dB, VSWRof 1.49, a gain of 12.47 dBi, and HPBW of 500 were obtained. From themeasurement results obtained, the helix antenna with ten turns shows goodperformance at a frequency of 1880 Mhz with a return loss of -17.75 dB, VSWRof 1.32, gain of 12.15 dBi, HPBW of 440, and unidirectional polarization.

Abstract

Microstrip antenna is one of the most important devices in telecommunications systems. One example is the design of a microstrip antenna on a long time evolution (LTE) device. Disadvantages of this microstrip antenna include low gain, poor directionality, low efficiency, resistance losses on the feed line and narrow bandwidth. This research will design a triangular patch array microstrip antenna to increase the gain so that it can meet the desired work specifications with a working frequency of 2.300MHz. The antenna is designed using FR-4 Epoxy substrate material with a size of 120 mm x 60 mm, which has a dielectric constant (?r) of 4.3, a loss tangent of 0.035 and a material thickness of 1.6 mm. Antenna designed using CST studio suite software 2018. The results obtained in the working frequency band 2280.4 MHz – 2370.0 Mhz, middle frequency 2332 MHz, return loss – 47.360dB, bandwidth 24.7MHz, VSWR 1.008, gain 4.39dBi, impedance 49.90 , and unidirectional radiation pattern.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the understanding and capacity of stakeholders at the Bokori Island tourist attraction in building a destination image to attract more tourist visits. The method used was participatory training involving 20 participants, utilizing lecture, discussion, and evaluation techniques. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding and knowledge of the dimensions of destination image, with an achievement success rate of 85%. This success was supported by factors such as institutional support and participant enthusiasm, although challenges were encountered, including time constraints for some participants due to farming activities. It was concluded that this socialization was effective in improving stakeholder capacity and is expected to contribute to increasing tourist visits to Bokori Island.

Abstract

The phenomenon of increasing public interest in preserving endangered animals has an impact on environmental sustainability. One of the illegal actions carried out was sending endangered species through ports, one of which was Parepare Harbor. Law Number 21 of 2019 concerning Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine was created to control this situation. This research aims to determine the legal action for illegal importation of wild animals at Paree-Pare Harbor. This research is normative legal research by reviewing statutory regulations, literature materials which are applied as rules or norms that are used and become the basis for everyone's actions. The results of the research show that the legal action for illegal entry of wild animals at Parepare Harbor is in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 21 of 2019. The legal action taken is in the form of imprisonment, fines and also administrative technical sanctions in the form of detention, rejection and destruction.

Abstract

This research aims to thoroughly identify the problems that arise when implementing an independent curriculum in an elementary school environment. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research method with a library study approach, which is research by searching and collecting data from sources such as relevant books and journals. The results of research on the problems of implementing the independent curriculum in elementary schools identified a number of problems which include teachers' difficulties in formulating the flow of learning objectives, lack of mastery of technology in the learning process, difficulties in developing learning models that are in accordance with the independent curriculum, and inadequate availability of facilities and infrastructure. To overcome this problem, there are several solutions proposed including holding teacher training, carrying out outreach, utilizing the Merdeka Belajar platform, repairing and upgrading facilities and infrastructure, carrying out supervision and monitoring, as well as increasing collaboration between education stakeholders. It is hoped that these solutions can increase the effectiveness of implementing the independent curriculum in elementary schools. Keywords: Curriculum, Freedom to Learn

Abstract

Previous studies on General English (GE) showed that the challenge to lecturer professionalism is the issue of providing teaching materials. While Instructional Design provided pedagogic activities, so the General English Modul development through Model Pengembangan Instruksional (MPI) + Revalidation (R) was propose to be an alternative solution. For that reason, a case study with an experimental design done to measure the effect size of MPI + R on the lecturers professionalism development. Under one goup pre and post test design, three GE Lecturers at Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka (USN Kolaka) involved in GE module development through ID model MPI + R . The development phase done during September 2022 to Mey 2023. The data collected by using Danielson Teaching Framework Instrument and the effect size calculated by nonparametric and Cohen-D test. The effect size calculation showed that the ID model MPI + R has a great effect on the lecturer professionalism. It can be concluded that MPI + R is able to be an alternative solution for lecturer professionalism development.
